Dr. Steinmetz is just a caring, understanding, well-mannered, humble, and gracious person. I have to say person, because he has to be such a person first to be a doctor with those qualities. Not to be ignored is his staff. His staff is just as courteous and understanding. I read reviews putting them down - but I beg to say, the person writing such a review, doesn't quite have an understanding of what to expect from an office staff in such a delicate yet fast-moving environment, attending to phones, patients, and any requests of the doctor... May Jehovah God bless Dr. Steinmetz and his staff, giving all of them good health and long life so they may take care of us who need them.

My mom was referred to Dr. Hanono because she was told he's tops in his field. My mother is…read moresuffering from extreme pain down her thighs due to muscular atrophy. If she moves even slightly after waking up, burning shoots down her thighs. The only way the surgeons told her she'll recover is walking around and physical therapy, but the pain is so great that if she stands up or even lies in most positions, it feels like fire through her legs. It's like this for most of the day - only during the evening does it let up briefly. Every day she screams in agony and cries out "oh God help me!" Her psychopharmacologist cleared her for opioid use to manage the pain so she can walk around and rebuild her muscles because nothing else she's been prescribed so far has worked. Her pain is so great that she's essentially bed-bound all day except for a couple of hours at night. We took my mom to Dr. Hanono on Wednesday and she told him what she's going through. Dr. Hanono treated her like she had no idea what she was talking about. He told her there was no medical reason to help her, that she was exaggerating her pain, and that she should just buck up and power through it. He wasted our time, and my mother's condition is worsening every day. This was absolutely the worst experience anyone in my family has ever had in visiting a doctor.

Called the office a number of times and never received a return call. Went to the office hoping to see the doctor and was told he was leaving and couldn't see me and I would get an antibiotic. Asked why there never was a return call and he said he was having issues with the phone. Tried the office again the following day and when I walked in the male receptionist told me did I think I was entitled walking in and since I haven't been there in 2 years what did I expect. Needless to say I walked out after being insulted and reprimanded and found another doctor and I was diagnosed with bronchitis. Dr Buono is a wonderful doctor but it's impossible to get past his rude male receptionist. Needless to say, due to the incredibly insolence of the male receptionist there are 3 less patients for that office. He needs to have a course in patient etiquette and proper and polite discourse.

He instructs you on your illness and if you follow direction you will get better. His staff is friendly, efficient and helpful. Whenever you enter the office you are greeted with a warm smile and courteous service. The bathroom and waiting room is always clean and clutter free. Plenty of magazines that are current and ready to be read. Appointments are needed but they do take walk-ins. His office is equipped to do many services. After I moved to the island I didn't want to change doctors because we have a great repore. So, I'm willing to take the trip to Brooklyn. I recommend him highly! Then 10mins later she tell me the Dr wants me to do a breathing test, to which I ask well the Dr has not seen me yet so how would she know?? Anyway, I go into the test room and recognize the woman who is performing this test as the one that had left 20mins ago and just returned from McDonald's!!! So while she was getting her coffee break I was waiting in the office like an idiot!! So now the visit is complete and the Dr electronically sends my scripts to my pharmacy, they only receive 3 out of the 4.They called all day and no one answered the phone or returned it. So its the weekend and I dont have my rescue inhaler!! For the amount of money spent on insurance this office felt like a Medicaid clinic!! And the last thing that irked me was not only was my co-insurance/copay $200 but I was charged a $5 surcharge because I wanted to use my credit card..who the hell walks around with that kind or cash or checks these days??

I felt like an invoice, not a human being. I went to Dr. Sury because my coverage changed and I needed the initial required follow up visit after receiving my CPAP machine. She asked me why I was there to which I replied that I've been using my CPAP machine for 1 1/2 months and would like to know the next steps. She replied that there are no next steps. That now I use the machine. I asked about monitoring results. She says she doesn't do that. I asked about getting better at which point she told me that I don't get better, I use the machine for the rest of my life. I happen to know there are alternate treatments but not according to her. She acted like I was an idiot for bothering her. She actually picked up a call from another patient and had a conversation while I sat there. No excuse me, no sorry. The call was about the other patient's union needing documentation for insurance which she sent so it's not anything she didn't do and if the union has a problem they can call the supervisor etc, etc. Really? How is that professional?! When I told her I thought that was rude she merely responded that she had to take the call. Really? I listened to the call. She didn't have to take it. I felt that Dr. Sury was actually annoyed that I was asking her questions and I left feeling frustrated and hopeless. The best I can say is that she has a horrible bedside manner.

I had been in past treatment for what had been diagnosed as asthma since 2019 when I was a patient at the Lenox Hill Northwell Medicine Clinic at 178 East 85Th Street, 2nd floor. There I saw various internal medicine RESIDENTS who report to their attending physician supervisors, who put me on Albuterol, and Flovent. I decided to make an appointment with a pulmonologist at my wonderful hospital health care system, namely Lenox Hill Hospital of Northwell Health. Dr. David Posner MD was highly suggested to me and then I did my own research on his qualifications, reviews on multiple sites, Yelp, Healthgrades, Vitals, Google Reviews, etc. Hence, upon meeting Dr. Posner I was amazed at his kindness, bedside manner, and listening skills! I explained all, and he set me up for a lung challenge test among a few other tests, and low and behold, I NEVER HAD ASTHMA NOR COPD!!! Dr. Posner explained all in detail, took his time with me, and is one of the best medical doctors at Lenox Hill Hospital of Northwell Health and their pulmonary clinic on the 3rd floor of 178 East 85Th Street, New York, NY 10028. I was further treated with professionalism by the front desk staff, which is extremely important, and the clinic is beautiful. Dr. Posner will always continue to be my go to pulmonologist at Lenox Hill Hospital of Northwell Health in any future issues regarding any pulmonary issues or questions.
