The lady behind the counter did ask I needed for help looking for anything and since what I was browsing for wasn't there I thought I should just look around anyway, it really was a pleasant store. A lot of the items you could get for cheaper online but it's good to support local business if it's just a little higher price tag and their cookware is of very high quality (too bad it's something I can't afford right now) but I did buy a small utility knife and some mixing bowls. The bowls were pretty expensive BUT that knife was surprisingly cheap but awesomely good, I've used it a few times already and am impressed with for something under $10 bucks. When it came time to ring up my purchases the credit card machine was down. A little inconvenient and time consuming, but not a backbreaker. I'm going to keep an eye out for the upcoming classes because I think it will be a fun activity for me the the miss.

I think because I have a lot of kitchen gear already, I wasn't really impressed with their selection. I did find a great stainless steel 13' splatter screen that I've been needing for a while. Cost a good $17 + tax, but it's plenty durable, I just hope it lasts. I think if I was looking for something specific, I might check here. Otherwise I would end up buying something online. They are going to be offering cooking classes in the future, which might be interesting. We'll see how much they cost and what kind of dishes they'll make as I do already know how to cook and love it. I like this store because I love anything to do with cooking and being in the kitchen. I could not be more pleased. Was everything perfect? No .. but darn near. Most impressive was my inability to convince anyone at Guthrie to commit to a schedule they were unable to meet -- and believe me, I tried! It's an extremely professional group of people, from design, to project management, to individually skilled craftsmen. If the electrician was due on Monday, he or she arrived promptly on Monday. Each worker was polite, courteous, considerate, and did their part of the project efficiently. The project manager answered my questions promptly, and since it was my first experience, I had a lot of questions. The end product is a beautiful and functional kitchen.
