But I'm sure that the worst, and I mean absolute worst thing that could happen would probably be a toothache. It's the kind of jarring pain that can, at its easiest leave you holding your jaw and at its worst, leave you writhing in pain. Naturally, you have to get that dealt with asap. Cudos to Pizarro being right in my backyard. All I needed to do was take a walk to get to the clinic. The doctor was sociable. Definitely not the type who just looks their patients over, gives a diagnosis and shoos you off. I appreciated his rapport. Really put me at ease. Dentists are usually scary, okay? You can't convince me otherwise. So, I've been here twice: first for a diagnosis and the second time for an extraction. The diagnosis wasn't so bad. The dentist looked my teeth over a few times and cleaned them, nothing too intense. The good part was that he was willing to answer my questions and was willing to work around the bad tooth which may have quirked during the cleaning. The extraction was a long, complicated process though. Nothing on the dentist's part. He was efficient and thorough but no matter how much anaesthetic he used (and he did top me up the minute I showed any signs of discomfort), it still hurt like the buggery. Apparently my veins are extra sensitive. It was a long two hours with my mouth hanging open. He's also good with post-surgical care. He'll tell you everything you need to know: what you can eat, what to expect, how to keep swelling down. And he does schedule a check up appointment around a week after to see how you're coming along. Most dentist appointments are crazy scary but Dr. Carlos does make you feel like you're in good hands.

A few of my brothers had their teeth pulled here, one for his wisdom teeth. Dr. Sotomil made retainers for one of my brothers. And he also made my tooth fillings. One time, when part of my face swelled because of an infection (I think it was gums), he also treated it and told me to eat ice cream afterwards - a much welcome advice! There is a reason our family keeps coming back to him - he does his work well, and quite fast too. When I get my teeth cleaned, I really feel that they are clean, with nothing stuck in between. I got my teeth cleaned a few times by other dentists, and my teeth didn't seem as thoroughly cleaned the same way they are when I go to Dr. Sotomil.

The medical records staff should undergo Values Education so they know how to assist people and treat everyone with respect.

It is a well organized, efficient place. However, they do not have much equipment there, aside from x-ray. So for things such as ultrasound they refer you elsewhere. Also, the appearance of the place is slightly dilapidated. A lot of the furniture, ceiling panels etc. are in need of repair. The hygiene is not what it should be either. Their restroom lacks soap, toilet paper and paper towels and there are no dispensers for hand sanitizer for patients can use. You'd expect a higher level of hygiene from a medical facility.

We became friends, and as soon as he passed the board exam a couple years back, he became my regular dentist. Doc Dale's first few years as a dentist were supervised closely by his mom, a seasoned dentist who has been practicing for several decades now. Doc Dale and his Mom share a clinic near Cartimar. The clinic is always spotless and immaculate, and the tools and the instruments that they use are clean and sterilized. Doc Dale and his mom have several new dental chairs in their clinic, and they also have modern equipment that help make every visit comfortable, fast and somewhat pleasant. Doc Dale has a light touch, and his procedures never feel rushed nor hurried. I'm not saying these just because we have become friends, but my brother, whom I referred to Doc Dale when he needed an emergency wisdom tooth extraction, also said so. I think Doc Dale's fees are more reasonable than the tariff rates in dental clinics in the malls. I don't have dental coverage on my insurance but I could still afford his services. He gives really good advice and I put my trust on him. Give him a call if you are looking for a dentist in the Pasay area!

The waiting area is small and cozy with decorative plants and small wooden sculptures that warm up the place. Dr. Alicia tan has two very friendly staff, which are well-trained to provide anything that a stressed-out patient needs. My girlfriend has very little tolerance for pain. She can barely get through their standard teeth cleaning procedure without crying out in pain. I laughed out loud when the assistants gave her a stress ball to squeeze during the entire procedure, because they knew she was coming. Although she still ended up crying throughout her oral prophylaxis, Dr. Tan was still very considerate (and patient), and allowed multiple breaks during the process to let her gargle with ice cold water. Because of her great patience and concern for her patients, Dr. Alicia should be on the top of your list when thinking of a great dentist for your kids, or for those who still act like kids.
