I hate my braces. But I love going to the dentist…read more I've been going to Garcia Dental Office ever since I got my teeth. The reason I keep going? Well, I have many reasons. First, it's all by appointment. The dentist also takes all the time he or she needs to fix your teeth. There's no rush! The secretary, Lani, is very helpful and will remind you about your appointment a few days before. Should you need to cancel, she promptly looks for a better day and time for both you and the dentist. Second, their clinic is clean. Not just the clinic, the waiting room and the bathroom as well. Really, no one wants to go to a dental office that's dirty or smells bad. Third, there's entertainment while you're on the chair! Or maybe they only do that for the kids so they don't get scared. Well, there's a TV and the dentist won't be the kind who talks to you while there's stuff in your mouth. Fourth, they really care about their patients and they do what's best for them and their teeth. They'll answer late night messages about that painful wisdom tooth of yours. And they'll count down the days until you get your braces off.

The receptionist / dental assistant gave my the form to fill up and called my health care provider to double check the coverage. Looks like everything checked out well. I was just waiting for my turn. Heard from the very thin walls of the actual dentist's chair and their reception area that the doctor is still with a patient. The kid in the chair and his mother waiting. It's 3.20PM and the kid is finally done. The mother will have something checked out too. The overzealous assistant and dentist offered the mom for a cleaning as well. All the while the assistant knows that the 3pm appointment is already waiting. I'm not waiting a second longer. When she stepped out, I asked for my Company ID and Maxicare card and got the hell out of there. I really want to give the assistant an earful but there's a kid somewhere inside so I decided not to. I'm pretty sure the mom could here me at the waiting area too and had the audacity to keep blabbering and asked for a procedure that IS NOT PART OF THEIR APPOINTMENT. To top it all I had to go to this clinic which is 2-3 block away with roads under muddy repair under the rain and heavy car and foot traffic. So overall, I won't ever come back here. If you value your time, so should you.

Just thinking about it is already giving me the chills. But hey, as rare as they may come, there is one rather pleasant deviation to this courtesy of Doctor Lari. Run by an amiable yuppie of a dentist, this dental clinic is a refreshing change from the usual stuff of nightmares. Not mainly on the interior but more on the people who run it, an appointment with Doctor Lari would feel more like you're getting cared for, not the usual I'm scared what's going to happen and how much will it cost me kind of experience commonly attached to clinics. And hey, if a bubbly 20 something comes to greet you as your attending dentist, don't be think less, she is in fact Doctor Lari herself, a top ranking dentist in her licensure exam!
