I first became aware of Richard's work in sculpture when I saw his horses displayed in the Grand River during Art Prize in 2012. I decided then I wanted one of his horses in my yard. After meeting Richard, he worked with me to get the pose that I wanted for the horse, making suggestions and listening carefully to my ideas. He created the horse, delivered it to my home, and positioned it in the back gardens. He definitely went the extra mile. Richard was friendly, easy to work with, and very accommodating. His amazing work sculpted from tree branches has brought acclaims from guests and neighbors alike. Sebastian's work in oil is captivating. He is equally at home with landscape and portrait and the sense of movement and life is evident. His paintings are standouts. When I commissioned a painting from him, he went to great lengths to discuss the various aspects of it, to carefully understand what I wanted, and to offer his expertise in its composition. He even went so far as to match the colors in the room where it was to be hung within the painting. He brought the painting to my home, and he hung it for me, also going that extra mile. The whole process was inspiring from start to finish as Sebastian's friendly and analytical nature captured my thoughts and ideas. Their works speak for themselves. A visit to Studio 126 to meet and to see their creations has been a positive and refreshing experience for me.

Here in New York, I had a beautiful large painting by James Brandess, Saugatuck Dunes. It was time to sell the painting that had been the center of our interior design for years, we received countless compliments on the beautiful large Brandess painting. A phone call, a voice (Brandess) on the phone, a lot of expense, a lot of work to crate, ship the painting to the Brandess Gallery resulted in a very nice check $$$ for me after the painting sold. Brandess is a professional he knew just how to price the painting that sold for full asking price quicky. Lucas the gallery manager is a great asset to Brandess Gallery. Lucas helped me buy a large giclee, Big Red, a lighthouse that I have framed and now hangs in my home, with a dozen Big Red cards, 2 coasters, and 2 magnets, to add to my collection lighthouses. Don't miss the Brandess Gallery gifts, notecards, coasters, calendars, magnets, at VERY reasonable prices. Bernard FitzGerald, Jr. THE EFFECTIVE PRESENTER, INC. Using sand from the Saugatuck area he has fashioned a number of shapes. The truly interesting thing about the process is the unique greenish color that is created by the sand. Currently the pieces are between 4-7 inches high. I'm looking forward to my next visit to see how he expands his exploration of sand from different geographies. I was initially drawn into the gallery by the bright, modern ceramic pieces which I gather was Jeff's original artistic pursuit. These vary in size probably 6-18 inches. Truly enjoyed speaking with the artist and being exposed to his enthusiasm for his new endeavor. Make sure you make time for this stop.

The artist/owner was there and he told us about some of his pieces, including these really cool vases that were inspired by fireflies - you can use a laser light to make patterns on them that glow for a second in the dark. It was so unique and unlike anything I'd ever seen before! He also makes glow in the dark glass pieces which were very interesting. He uses a lot of bold colors that I was drawn to. I didn't happen to notice any pricing because I wasn't really looking to buy anything, but he was so friendly and kind that I'd definitely stop in again when I'm in town next!
