It is first, first serve but we found around 7 pm, the bar was empty. If you don't mind this, I highly recommend for last minute planning. When we were seated, the bartenders were pleasant and helpful. The service was quick. We ordered the aged cheddar pierogis for the appetizer which was a good start for two people. They were fried so you are staying clear of fried foods--I would skip this dish (it wasn't listed as fried). The cocktails and food was amazing. We ate all of our food but it wasn't too much where you felt sick. I would come back to this restaurant again if I am in the area.

First of all, the drive to Fennville is gorgeous! We always love the rural landscape and the quaint town itself. Definitely a destination to visit. Second, the building itself is cute, rustic, inviting, and well-kept right in the heart of Fennville's adorable downtown. Third, the staff are so welcoming, kind, helpful, and professional. We especially loved our hostess (Chrissie/Christy?). She treated us so well and definitely talked us into some yummy extras Now to the food and drinks! The extensive cocktail, wine, and beer selection is high quality and specially curated. I had a hard time deciding, but I settled on the Sage Rub. It was so delicious and refreshing; not too sweet. I highly recommend it! My husband got the Bell's Hazy IPA, one of his favorites! We started with the Brussels sprouts and the bread board. The Brussels were decadent, crisp, and flavorful! The bread was such a rich array of tasty breads and butter/salt/pepper sides. We loved every bite! I got the house salad and my husband got the special. We each preferred our own salads, so that's good! I loved the house salad because of the light and refreshing vinegarette . The flavors were spot on. My husband liked that the special salad brought together a bunch of different flavors into a sweet/tangy delight! For our main entrees, both my husband and I were eying the Three Little Pigs pizza. He ended up getting and let me have a bite: so flavorful with high quality meats, cheese, and ingredients overall. So good! I got the Housemade pasta with beef tenderloin, charred onions, and mushroom sauce. It was literally divine and I cherished each and every bite. We would have loved to get dessert, but we were stuffed! Maybe next time? Prices are great, the space is clean/safe, and the portions are excellent. And you can make reservations through their website beforehand. Very clutch, especially since it is a good drive from most towns. If you are nearby and have the time, please make Salt of the Earth a part of your dinning experience. I promise that your taste buds will be very thankful. See you next time, Salt if the E

I…read moredon't get to Fennville that often, but I had reason to be in Saugatuck so I decided to stop in and get a pizza at Iggy's. The spot is cozy and cute, with some space to dine in. The murals are fun and they feature Iggy, the owners' dog, as well as his namesake, Iggy Pop. The menu is pretty simple with pizza, breadsticks, salads, sandwiches, and dips. I got a large grande pizza (homemade italian sausage, savory roasted broccoli, sweet & spicy pepper relish, red sauce) and an order of cheesy garlic bread. The food came out and I was so excited because it looked and smelled amazing. The pizza was huge and we had leftovers for days. I loved the charred broccoli and slightly spicy peppers. The crust was the perfect thinness and held up well to the toppings. The cheese bread was SO CHEESY and delicious--I love sesame so it made me happy that it was a sesame bread. The red sauce it came with for dipping was mouth-wateringly delicious and bursting with fresh tomato flavor. I chatted with the manager for a bit and he was so pleasant and kind. I know I said I don't get to Fennville that often, but I'd come back just for more of this pizza.

This spot underwent a glow up and a rebrand since the last time we were here and I love it!…read morePreviously you would do your shopping in the big building on the property (where I assume they do a lot of the processing and kept all their equipment, it felt kind of like a "facility" or warehouse of sorts) and it was pretty barebones. And it was fine! Better than fine because the blueberries were so good! I had no complaints. But now they've leveled up. Now it's not just good blueberries but good ambiance as well! They've converted another smaller building next to it as a storefront and it's chock full of blueberry based goodies like jams, jellies, baked goods, dips, mustards, beverages, etc. Way more to choose from! They also sell ice cream and added a play structure to help entertain the kiddos that get a little bored of picking (smart). The day of our visit it was around 100 degrees and humid so I was not up for picking myself. Instead I arrived ready to buy a box of pre-picked fruit in bulk like I had in the past. I walked into the cute new storefront, scanned the shelves, and panicked. There were no boxed berries to be seen! Was this no longer a thing?? U-pick only?? Why God why!? No need to panic, the really lovely woman at the counter explained to me. They just ran out because nobody wanted to pick in the heat (fair) and they had another load of blewbs (just processed and boxed) enroute and arriving at any moment, she just wasn't sure when exactly. Our time in town was limited so we decided we'd come back instead of waiting. She assured me there would be plenty available. And she was right! A couple of hours later we came back to find the coolers absolutely stocked full of 5lb boxes. I was fielding requests from the family back home to bring them some so in the end I bought 20 pounds worth. I also added a blueberry lemon coffee cake for good measure. Great visit! Wonderful changes! Lovely personnelle! And most importantly, the blueberries are still amazing. Next time I just hope it's cooler so I can get an ice cream cone that wasn't going to liquify the moment I stepped outside.

We did come on a Sunday for lunch so I'm sure their high demand time. Then when we got our order it was missing one of the sandwiches, so that took another 7 minutes to get. I also had to check on my order as I saw others getting theirs before ours. Bathrooms ran out of soap and paper towels. The process for getting your food was a bit confusing as there wasn't any order numbers so you couldn't tell how many other orders were in front of yours. Would only come back if I had plenty of time to wait for food.

I also ordered two coconut macaroons, which weren't too sweet and hit the spot. This place is extremely crowded and busy so make sure you plan at least 30 minutes ahead. Wait time is long and I wouldn't recommend if you're too hungry. It was definitely very very hot day so the place was pretty stuffy, but I don't blame the deli itself, but fair warning. It's quite busy as the chef is award winning when I looked up her name online.

I was planning an afternoon in Holland and I found this spot on Yelp. I love grilled cheese (and…read moreactually call them toastie cheese sandwiches) so I was hoping I could snag a quick lunch. I lucked out with a 15 minute parking spot across the street and ran in. The front of the space has a cheese counter and lots of products for sale to create the cheeseboard of your dreams. I saw cutting boards, crackers and accoutrements, cookbooks, and more. I was on a mission, though, so I headed towards the back and through what looked to be a wine tasting area. Then I entered the Grilled Cheese Bistro, with its cute seating area and friendly employee. The menu is pretty simple -- choose your toastie (they have a handful of curated options), pick half or full sandwich, choose your bread, choose your side (chips, pickle, or bread), and then add a cup or a bowl of soup. All the options sounded delicious but I'm a savory person, always, so i got the Mama Mia, which has two kinds of cheese, pesto, and tomato. I went with the recommended Italian bread, and I added a cup of the tomato bisque, which is self-serve. They also had chicken pot pie and minestrone. My sandwich was done quickly and looked delicious -- super cheesy and perfectly toasted (aka it didn't destroy the roof of my mouth). The pesto and tomato were great additions, and dunking it in the soup was so fun and tasty. I loved this lunch so much and I wish they would open a location in Grand Rapids! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town.
