We moved from Riverside to MoVall and needed a new barber closer to us. My son's pointed out Fern'z Barbershop because they heard about this place thru friends at school and social media. So, we decided to stop and give them a shot. To make a long story short, they did a great job on all of us. The barbers gave us the exact cuts we wanted and knew what they were doing. First off, we came here due to being new to the area and with my son starting school - he desperately needed a haircut. So we walk in and were greeted and things are fine. Within 10 min my son is called back. The shop is very narrow and when all the chairs are filled and turned to have the feet plate together it's hard to get through. So I left my two little ones on the bench to go talk to his barber about what he wanted. We had a photo he wanted the guy to recreate. He said it was easy and so I left it at that and went to go sit back with my littles. I'm watching him cut his hair and I began to notice it wasn't short on the sides like the photo but it looked blended nicely so I just continued to wait. When he started calling his next customer to him I assumed that meant he was done so I walked over to pay. He then informed me that they don't take card payment and I didn't have cash. I asked if they had Venmo or anything like that and he said no but there's a superior or Wells Fargo down the street. So I rush to get my two littles into the car, collapse the stroller and drive down to try and pull cash. I found a dollar general and purchased a gum so I could get cash back. They only have 3 options 10, 20 or 50 and because I didn't know the price of the haircut -again, not posted - I got 50 to be safe. I then drove back over as quickly as possible and seen my soon peering out the door. He goes mom the guy left to look for you... I was livid. This guy literally thought I was gonna leave my oldest son there as collateral after cutting his hair half-assed?! So I walked over to the guy on the first chair to the right as you walked in and he said "oh no it's because he had to leave" but I know that was a lie because prior to me going over to pay he had called another customer over to begin. We ended up taking my son to great clips that night to fix this guys shitty job. He didn't cut the top of my sons hair not once and my son said that this guy applied a buttload of gel prior to combing it out. My son has thick, coarse hair and that would pull a lot obviously. My son had never complained about a haircut being painful. Just overall disappointed in how they handled the situation. Never once was I going to screw them out of money for a haircut. And this guy tried to make my son feel like I wasn't going to come back for him. Absolutely ridiculous. I've attached photos of the haircut and after Great Clips fixed it. read more

Music is too loud. These barbers need to turn down the music. Every single time I have came in for a haircut with my kids, the music is blasting in my ears with profanity. I can't sit there and wait and be comfortable. I rather wait outside. read more

Lets start off with the price (18) for a high top fade I ask for a double zero and line up on top uneven fade with little hairs left in front I can get the same hair cut for 14 dollars with a warm towel on your face razor blade line up on the front and he didn't even ask me how I like the back square or rounded up can't say I am impressed won't be returning here I'm not saying that all the barbers there are bad maybe just the one who took care of me don't know and I am not going to find out read more

This barbershop has been my spot for about 2 years now, my barber Jorgie has been an upscale dude giving me quality cuts and service. Has not disappointed me at all my son gets his hair cut with him as well and keeps my son entertained wile getting his cuts cuz he is very impatient. Fern the owner is a dope dude always pushing quality cuts and he hires only talented barbers to work for him. His other barbers louie, gus and toro are also talented barbers offering outstanding service and quality haircuts. For starters it's a cool little shop. The atmosphere is great and friendly but when I comes down to it I paid for a small trim and that's not what I asked for. He even said I got you I know what you want. Before I could say anything my hair already had gel in it. So could is a little more communication. Let me start... customer service is good. Other barbers enjoy what they do. Wish i had an appointment with one of them. They asked a barber if he had any appointments at the time. He said no so I decide to give them a try. Worst haircut I ever had I asked for a medium fade and it was a high fade and I have bald spots all over my head. I started coming here about 2 months ago and stumbled upon it randomly while in the area. The shop is clean, modern, and overall nice. Gus really knows what he's doing, for the first time in a long time I've finally found a barber who can cut my hair the way I envision it. This is the one barbershop I've gone where I didn't have to worry about waiting for one specific barber. Everybody here is DOPE and knows what they're doing. Been here multiple times and everyone that's cut me up does it perfect. Recently came in for a beard cleanup and Luiz hooked me up. He explained exactly what he was gonna do and how it was gonna clean up my look through the whole process. First barber to hook me up with a hot towel. Dude is super knowledgeable and knows what he's talking about. I live in Beaumont but best believe I'm making the drive back here again. read more

Don't come here if you don't have short hair or a combover. They will do a bad job if you have somewhat long hair

Service is great. The Barbers are always talking and having a good time while doing their business. The shop is clean and the lines can get a bit long on the weekends and before holidays, but the wait isn't that long with the amount of Barbers on deck. On weekdays there's no line and you can usually walk in and get a fresh cut. They have music playing in the shop and it's usually good music. Prices are fair. read more
