Because they are the only haircut place near campus, everyone has to go there and they have an monopoly, and can get away with extremely bad haircuts. If you can, avoid at all costs because the barbers there quite frankly do not care about you or your social life. Extremely overpriced. Everytime my friends and I go there, their haircut is botched badly in one way or another. Price is also very high. 45 dollars without tips at minimum, add in tips its nearly 60. If you don't add in tips they'll put no effort in. They also can't cut east Asian hair that sticks out, from what I seen, even the Asian barbers. Please avoid at all costs. read more

Came in today after seeing all the talented barbers on Instagram at this shop. Everyone was pretty busy but Morgan was nice enough to speak with me, view a photo of a cut my son was looking for and discuss how it would work for his hair type, and then squeeze me in a little later in the day. I brought my son back at the agreed upon time and Morgan got right to work. Morgan asked questions throughout the service to make sure the cut was what my son was looking for. I researched and found this barbershop. I figured that I would pay a visit. You can walk in, but it's best to schedule an appointment. You can schedule one through their website. Everything is set up electronically, including paying for your type of service. There are packages to choose from. Each barber has a button to choose and the type of cuts provided. This particular shop is on the UCR campus. Parking is available in front of the shop. I talked to Will, the owner, and I actually had an appointment with him. He owns 2 shops. He is a really good barber. He is down to earth and makes sure customers get the best service possible. His staff does pretty good cuts as well. This is my go-to spot when I am in town on business. It's been awhile with Covid and all since my son had his hair properly cut and cut SHORT. We had let it grow long but the time had come to see his face again. Found J'Bez and Gerson via Yelp a few days ago and booked my appointment so easily on their site. They sent me text message reminders. Had a bit of trouble with my GPS and getting to the appointment on time after picking up my son. I called Gerson a few times from the road to let him know I'm not a flake and to please wait. The wife would KILL me if I missed his appt. Finally got there and thankfully Gerson was able to work his snip magic and within a short time my boy turned to a lil man! He took great care with my son and explained to me different ways to style etc. Great experience and the crew there were super cool and chill. Then to top it off we received a loyalty card so when my son gets his 10th hair cut there's one on the house!!! One word of caution - get there a few mins early since the parking lot is a bit tricky to figure out with where to enter and how to pay for your parking but it's easy once you get it.
