Up in the county visiting my daughter, everyone wanted to stay home in PJs and I wanted to go on an adventure. I've been going to Houlton for a good 25 years and have never been to Presque Isle so my hubby and I set out on a car trip for 45 minutes. Drive was nice and it was sweetened by meeting up with friends from Rangeley who were up snowmobiling. They recommended meeting up at Ferris BBQ so we put in the GPS and off we went. Ample parking, clear signage, and entrance clearly marked. Found our friends at the bar waiting for us. Bartender came right up after we said our hellos, gave us menus and told us what the specials were. We had had a late breakfast so not really all that hungry. We looked at the menu and decided to share the Brisket nacho fries. I enjoyed perhaps a little too much their specialty margarita "chocolate covered strawberry" oh my! I had two they were sooo good. The chocolate rim was semi sweet chocolate with sea salt yum! The Brisket nacho fries were amazing. The brisket was super tender, almost melted in my mouth so good. Fries were crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside. We dove in so fast and was having such a good conversation a picture of the nachos is missing. Decor was BBQ type theme with metal signage with cute sayings. Ample tables and a good sized bar. Friendly staff and good food, I'll have to come back again in the summer when we visit again. read more

Stopped into Ferris BBQ for dinner for the first time and loved it. Plenty of options on the menu so it was easy for everyone to find something. The meats were very flavorful and the burgers were delicious as well as all of the sides. There are TV's to watch sports and a nice bar if you are looking for bar seating. Waitresses were fast and friendly. Definitely making a trip back to Ferris BBQ in the near future! read more

This restaurant is very new and super clean and vibrant. The menu is very BBQ focused but has something for everyone. They make a great manhattan and the black and blue burger is delicious. We even enjoyed a strawberry filled whoopie pie to go. If you like BBQ this is the perfect spot for you. They have outside dining options too! read more

We stopped here for some chow and we're not disappointed. We told the waitress we were going to split the pulled pork and the brisket sandwich with a side of fries and brisket chili, and the kitchen kindly split everything on our two plates making it very convenient to share. It was early in the evening still but the place was quite busy which tells you something about the food. Service was excellent and the server was very attentive. Lots of TV's to watch various sports on, bu with the sound off, it was not too loud and easy to converse. We will come back. The price was nice too. That always helps. read more

Amazing food! But they need to include ketchup, s&p, plastic silverware, etc, with to go orders. We ordered $70 worth of food to a hotel and there was nothing in the bag but the food we ordered. Having a little more attention to the details would make this place a five star all day long! Food was outstanding!! But we ate it with our fingers. read more

I ate lunch there yesterday and I was amazed. I had the smoked Beef Tips and they were lean, flavorful, and cooked to my liking. There's about 5 more things on that menu I am aching to try. read more

Better selection. I'm not a big barbecue fan and neither is my wife. I found the restaurant to be very expensive and I probably won't go back. They'd have to really change the menu up. read more

They have done a nice job with the space making over the old Winnie's. The service was great. My husband and I both loved the food. I had pork spare ribs and hand-cut fries. They were excellent. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and really liked it. We would definitely go back. It is now our new favorite restaurant in Presque Isle. read more

1st time at Ferris BBQ. We started with fried pickles that were really good. Right amount for an appetizer. I had a hard time choosing what to get. I finally ended up ordering the poutine with pulled pork. All of it was perfect!!! My husband has the brisket sandwich with fries. He really enjoyed the sandwich. I took some of his fries because they were such great fries. The waitress was nice and attentive. We'll be back for sure when we're in PI again. read more

Ferris was really good. Went here a couple times when we were in the area. The ribs were great but the brisket was fatty and I couldn't really eat it. They forgot the cornbread which was disappointing bc I was looking forward to it. read more

We ate here today and were thoroughly pleased with our meal, the service, and the ambiance. The interior is sooo comfortable with tall ceilings, warm temps, and plenty of space between tables. I had photos but Yelp is unable to upload a 1.4 meg photo???? I had the pulled pork tacos and were they ever good. My wife had the smoked turkey sandwich, coleslaw, and fries - all were perfect. We shared our meals and both were pleased. Parking lot was almost full but you can always park across the street at Save-A-Lot. We will be back. read more

This is our second time eating here. We are new to the area. Both visits were approximately 3:00 pm in the afternoon with only a couple of other customers in the restaurant and there were 3-4 waitresses on shift. Our most recent visit was July 3/2024: the food taste, textures and quantities are excellent, however the service was questionable both visits. Our waitress this visit was named Olivia. We asked for iced tea, she then asked if we wanted ice with it. This seemed odd, and we stated yes. Then, I asked do you not serve ice with the iced tea and she stated it was bottled tea. I asked if they still served the brewed tea, she stated "  oh yes but it's $5 " , why wouldn't you offer either option to your customers? We proceeded with our order and we ordered two sandwich items with sides. The food arrived quickly but she did not bring out our sides. It was difficult to get her attention, we could see she was in the back chatting with the other servers. We were 75% done eating when I finally got her attention. I had to stand up and interrupt her by stating excuse me in a louder tone. I asked if our side orders were still coming out. She responded "  oh you still wanted those ", well yeah, why wouldn't we want what we ordered, by the time she brought them we were done the main meal. Disappointing! The service the first visit here was no different. I had to get up, go to the counter and ask for a refill, a napkin and my bill at the end of our meal. It was the same issue: servers chatting together in the back behind the service counter. Suggestion: Staff need training in attention to detail and checking back with their customers during their meals. read more
