I recently purchased a vacation home and had Steven Ferris of Ferris Blinds Shades & Shutters come by and give me an estimate on installing Hunter Douglas shutters, sun shades and a vertiglide on my sliding door. His recommendations on the type and colors of window treatments I should use were excellent. I though his estimate was reasonable and since I had used his company before I knew that his customer service is also excellent. Once the order had been place it was a quick turnaround for the installation. The windows look beautiful. The sun shades on the porch provide excellent privacy and protection from the sun. I had 3 arched shutters installed and they add such a lovely decorative touch to the room. The vertiglide is my favorite window treatment of all. We have had our Ocean City Condo for over 40 years and window treatments have always been a challenge. In the spring we were referred to Ann and Steve Ferris because we wanted to put shutters in our master bedroom. They were very accommodating with our schedule and with measuring and installation. Because of our uneven floors and ceilings they had to make adjustments and did so graciously! The shutters look fabulous! They even purchased and repaired parts for our leveler blinds in our other bedroom purchased years ago from another company and didn't even charge us for their time or repair products. We recently used Ferris Blinds Shades and Shutters to design and install new blinds on the first floor of our new home - an older water front house with a lot of windows and views. The result was a wonderful transformation to both the inside and outside of our house. Very happy with the service, prices and products. I would recommend this company. Update 5/15/13..... I ended up having trouble with one of my shades. The cord broke inside the shade. A bit disturbing, but one phone call, they came right out, sent it back to Hunter Douglas for repair and I had it back good as new. They even put up a temporary paper shade while it was being repaired. Not happy about a new shade breaking, but they assured me it was under warranty, it was, and I'm completely happy with the manner in which it was handled. read more
