Odd customer service I purchased several packets of seeds and had one packet of petunias that did not germinate. I contacted Ferry Morris and was met with oddly the caddiest customer service I've had in awhile. Just a bizarre email conversation that was borderline dismissive and insulting of my intelligence on how to plant a seed followed by argumentative responses. They have agreed to replace the seeds but do not have petunias available and will send something else. It would have been such an easy fix to just say sorry, we're sending you a new pack of seeds instead of multiple emails back and forth. Just strange. read more

Generally poor quality seeds. I have experimented with many different kinds of Ferry-morse seeds, and they have all been disappointing everytime...especially all of their chilli peppers. I have been gardening and farming for 15 years, and these seeds are completely unreliable. You will be lucky to get a 50 percent germination rate, and sometimes its less than 10 percent. If you are lucky to get sprouts, they will be disapponting also. Only about one in five healthy plants will produce fruits worth eating or selling. The rest have just become decorative water-wasters that barely produce a few fruits per month. My sprouts bought from a local nursery were producing about a half dozen fruits every week. If you need something cheap, quick, and low quality, then ferry-morse is a good choice. If you really want abundant fruits and vegetables from healthy plants, then go to a professional nursery, or a community seed bank. Dont buy your plant seeds from the same place you buy motor oil and tampons. There is an abundance of far better options in most cities and on the internet. ​​​ read more

My husband got a LED grow house kit for Xmas from an out-of-state relative. He is having issues setting it up - the power cord/ transformer seems to be overheating as it gets very hot. He's called them numerous times and spoke to numerous people at Ferry Morse and they DO NOT stand by their products. Besides getting the runaround, He has to produce a receipt before they will assist him. That is ridiculous - he just opened it. He said he will send them the defective items back in exchange for a replacement. We will not be supporting this company any longer. Recently purchased a packet of crook neck yellow squash seeds and not a single seed germinated ? When I reported this to customer service, they wanted me to take photos and send them so they could "Verify" that I actually did purchase them. I'm old and not able to do that and they were not the least bit sympathetic . I've been a loyal customer for well over 35years . I started chives, oregano, marjoram, and tarragon seeds by Ferry-Morse when I was in WalMart. Under lights and on a heat mat. None of them germinated. I tried a second planting and still no germination after a month. Decided to purchase the same seeds from two other companies and they all germinated. I purchase 8 packets of flower seeds after seeing the familiar name. 2.5 months later, it became obvious 7 out of the 8 contained seeds for plants that had nothing to do with what was on the label. Some are even vegetables. Customer service only offers replacement of the original product. Not helpful now that it's too late in the season. How could a reputable company get it so wrong? It's not the same company anymore. The Ferry Morse name USED to be a very reliable seed company. The name has now been bought and sold through big corps. It was acquired by Green Garden Products, which then became owned by Central Garden & Pet - a huge publicly traded company that acquired many, many companies and now only serves the shareholders. read more

Exactly the same experience as J K. I bought Jalapeno pepper seeds (PEPPER, HOT - Jalapeno Early Container variety, packed for 24) and got some pale green banana type peppers with no heat and little flavor. Never buy Ferry Morse seeds they are a ripoff. read more

I am so totally disappointed .... I purchased several packets of Ferry Morse seeds in March'24: Catnip ( I grow annually for my cat), Coriander, Nasturtium, several others. I planted these several months ago, early spring and tried again, later part of May, indoors on my screened porch. Both times I got no appropriate response from there seeds, not one seed germinated of the catnip, the only thing that sprouted was one seed of Nasturtium which died shortly thereafter. I've been gardening since I was 10 y.o. and I've been a Florida Master Gardener for 30 years, I know what I'm doing and these seeds were a total failure, leaving my spring gardening season a zero in productivity. I took the remaining catnip seeds that were coated, soaked them to dissolve the coating and there were no seeds inside. I will never buy this brand again. read more

A phone call to customer service also blamed the post office, and I was told my order could not be cancelled because it was "on the way." If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered milkweed plants for monarch caterpillars. My local store did not have any milkweed plants so I looked online. Being on a time crunch I make sure to look at the shipping times. Their website states that if a plant is ordered by Tuesday it should ship by Friday. I placed my order early Tuesday morning hoping to receive the plants by Thursday or Friday at the latest. I received a message on Wednesday that my plants were on their way and had shipped with a tracking link attached. Checking the tracking, it said my package had not arrived at the shipping facility. I continued to receive the same message so finally called on Friday. I was told that a label had been created but my package was still with Ferry Morse. I asked to cancel the order since I would not receive it in time. After checking I was told once a label is created it cannot be canceled. Working with USPS and Fedex regularly I know this is not true. She then told me that they don't go and pull packages and it would not ship out until the following week because they did not want the plants to sit over the weekend. This made no sense considering the plant was already packaged and just sitting waiting to go to the shipping facility. To make it "better" she offered me 10% off, which meant nothing considering I was going to receive a plant I would not be able to use and would probably be dead by the time it arrives. I still have not received my plants. After getting no help over the phone I sent an email. The response I got was to refuse the delivery and let them know so they could send me another plant. Why would I want them to send me another plant I would have no use for? I still can't figure out why you would send customers emails saying their order has been shipped when it hasn't. They shipped my order to Norton, MA. The USPS delivery tracker shows it being delivered to Norton, MA. Yesterday, 11 October. I reviewed my order and my shipping and billing address were correct on my order. I received one previous order from them with no problems. Have submitted an online message to them so let's see if I get a reply and they ship me the products I ordered. Last time using them. read more
