To start off the staff was friendly, helpful, very accommodating and spoke English very well. It was also nice to have one or two security guards at the front door at all times. In fact one evening when I came back to my room the was a incident happening in the room next to mine and it was quickly resolved with the security guard and hotel staff. The room size was adequate and clean except for the many scuff marks on one wall probable from previous guest banging their luggage against the wall. Just for curiosity sake a took a damp towel and cleaned off most of the scuffs myself to see how easy they would come off. The air-condition work very well and easily kept the room cool and sometime even to cold I had to adjust it down. There was a nice size refrigerator and in-room safe in the room. I used the free wifi without any problems the whole time I was there. The hot water in the shower was hit or miss. I only truly had two hot/warm showers out of six but none, where it was totally too cold to shower. The lighting for me could have been a little brighter in the bathroom. I personally liked the very firm bed and clean beddings. Noise level defiantly could be a concern for some, but not for me, with the air conditioner and TV quietly on it muffled most of the outside sounds and I am pretty much a sound sleeper. There is a bar next door that goes till 6-7 in the morning with some muffled base sound coming through the walls. The hotel is also right on the busiest road in Makati with some street noise, but I think you would hear that noise in any hotel right on Makati Ave. Also keep in mind this part of Makati pretty much goes 24/7. One complaint would be that I put my "Clean Room" sign on my door three days in a row without anyone coming to clean my room. I had to ask for more fresh towel and toilet tissue. Finally after four nights I had to ask to have my room cleaned. Usually I don't eat breakfast in the hotel I stay in preferring to try local spots, but on my second morning there I got up early and had the most wonderful breakfast and service. I then could not wait to have breakfast the rest of my stay. The coffee was always hot and the breakfast itself small by my hearty appetite standards but filling enough to start the day was outstanding in flavor. My favorite being the Menudo Ala Cubana a Filipino pork and liver stew served over banana, a side of garlic rice and one fried egg. As far as location, it is close to several malls including the wonderful Green Belt area, walking distance for me or a 60-65 peso taxi ride. It is only a few blocks from Burgos Street a well known red light district if that is your thing, but far enough away so that you don't have to be part of it. Across the street is A-venue mall, made up of many restaurants and a very large grocery store in the back part of it with anything you may need. In the evening the parking lot right next door to the mall and is also part of the mall is a outdoor venue with some of the best street food in Makati, both in taste and price, with live music, cold beers and a few souvenir tents. The ride from airport to hotel on a busy evening was 310 pesos and back to the airport arranged by the hotel in the very early morning was 220 pesos. All in all for me the hotel was worth the price for my stay and would stay there again. read more
