But Gupta told me she wasn't involved in any data checking or appointment decision making until I went to ER. She said it was all on the nurse practitioner. - What?! Why?! She said it was strange I was scheduled at week 11. It's usually week 8. - Whose responsibility?! Who's bearing the consequences? I asked her how I know if there was ever a fetal pole or not, she said "ya we don't know." 2) the nurse practitioner, Mahnaz, just kept telling me even an earlier sonogram wouldn't make any change to the result. - what about the data for me to know what actually happened? And she just did what every OB would do. - without asking her OB? She told me she didn't know I tried to make an earlier appointment. It was all the front desk girl. - Seriously?! At the end, she just told me "I need to go to see my patient. You can talk to the office manager because you and I are not getting anywhere!" Next thing I knew, she slammed the door and left me in the room by myself. - What a jerk! It hurts like so many bad words. I'm surprised she does this for living. She should be fired. 3) If you want to get their attention, consider to share your experience here, they will call you right away. ---- Worst experience! No matter how much I told the NP, Mahnaz, after I signed up to Gupta about my advanced age and my last miscarriage which was within a year, the NP just gave me very broad info intake and 2 blood work in week 5. I had to be the one to request for blood work in week 6 when I saw my HCG wasn't doubling. No more blood work scheduled till the miscarriage. My first sonogram was scheduled at week 11. - Ridiculous! I called and requested a few times to have an earlier sonogram. I was told the Dr said it's not necessary!!! I feel very dismissed from this place on me or whatever risk I am going through. One star bc there's no zero star option. Just know that all the negative reviews here and on Google are not coincidence.

This was the worst experience I ever had at a women's healthcare facility. But, this has nothing…read moreto do with the doctor's care (other than the fact that the doctor presumably hired the irrational receptionists) because I was never allowed to see the doctor. This review has to do with the doctor's staff. As a new patient, I brought fully completed medical forms and my insurance card, as well as three different government issued picture ids. Because the ids I brought could not be photocopied I was not allowed to see the doctor, furthermore I was told that the office manger was not in the office, so the receptionist's opinion was my only option. The worst part was that I accidentally left a drug prescription for antibiotics with my medical forms and the receptionist did not bother to let me know - even though she had my phone number and we had just spoke moments ago. Had I not come back to retrieve the medical forms, I would never have known. I was told that they intended to mail it to me. As, with most people, I expect compassion and care when I go to see any medical professional, not only from the doctor, but from their staff as well. The receptionist easily could have accepted my 3 photo ids, allowed me to complete my visit without further stress and had me fax my drivers license to her from my office after the visit, but apparently that was too reasonable for her. Doctors need to be aware of the individual representing them to the public and the office manager, Shannon Ivy, needs to be aware of the type of customer service provided by her employees.

This might be long, but it's hard to concisely express my appreciation for Dr. O'Connell! The…read moreTL;DR, though, is that he's a fantastic doctor regardless of specialty, but his care and compassion means even more when he is helping women deal with such personal and often dismissed pelvic conditions. If you have any concerns about him being a man and therefore not having personally experienced what you are, please don't let that stop you from seeing him! He has been far more empathetic and supportive than any female doctor I've seen in the past, never dismissing any of my symptoms or concerns and trusting that I know my body. I first saw him 9 years ago, after my regular gynecologist had done multiple ablation surgeries for my endometriosis and wasn't sure what to do next. Most OBGYNs are very limited in their endometriosis knowledge and my deep-infiltrating, stage 4 endometriosis was more complex than most can effectively treat. I found Dr. O'Connell through the Nancy's Nook Facebook group about 6 months after my gynecologist realized he couldn't help me any more. My husband and I left that first appointment absolutely blown away by Dr. O'Connell's compassion and dedication - I think he spent 2 hours with us that first time, ensuring all our questions were answered and giving us hope for the first time in a long time. As others said, he maybe late to your appointment, but I don't begrudge him that because I know how much time he is willing to give patients. I just never schedule anything else when I have an appointment with him so that I'm not rushed, in case he is running behind. I've had 2 surgeries with him, the last being 7 years ago, and he completely changed my life. I love that he is open to other modalities/treatments that are not mainstream but may help (like acupuncture/TCM, supplements, LDN). So many doctors think they have all the answers and dismiss anything they didn't learn in med school, and I've personally found those doctors to be less effective even if I'm not pursuing alternative treatments. They tend to not keep up on emerging research (because their egos/pride seem to keep them thinking they already know everything they need to know), but Dr. O'Connell is the opposite of that. It's that pursuit of knowledge that makes him such a good doctor and able to provide effective treatment. It took me more than 15 years of suffering to get a diagnosis and find Dr. O'Connell, and I've told so many women about Dr. O'Connell in hopes that they can find relief much sooner than I did. There's no cure for endometriosis and he doesn't promise one, but he will absolutely be in your corner helping you take back your life.

Dr. O'Connell is the most caring and compassionate doctor I have ever been to. He truly takes time…read moreto sit down and answer every single question you have. Then, 1 month before, was told they had an emergency so I had to reschedule. Finally get to appt, and they want to charge me almost $200 up front when I'm a new patient and I have a health spending account they refused to confirm. My gut told me this was just the beginning of not honoring my HSA, so I walked out of this place. Now, I have to turn around and look for a new doctor. They wasted 6 months of my time when I could have had medical answers by now. I'm not disappointed, I'm angry! Steer clear of this place.

First and foremost she made me wait so she could get to the hospital when all my body wanted to do was push. It was difficult having to wait for her. The nurses were all scared she wouldn't arrive on time. Then after she came late, I ended up with an episiotomy; an outdated medical procedure that most doctors dont perform anymore due its outdated science behind it. I was furious. Getting an episiotomy done left me have fecal incontinence for 2 whole months. It left me quite literally scarred for life. When I went to her days after my delivery to ask her what and why she did that she gave me half ass answers trying cover up decision. It was my first pregnancy and I didnt even know what an episiotomy was until I researched it after my delivery. Frankly she has too much ego. And i also like the other reviews mentioned, had to wait for 30+ minutes, sometimes an hour to see her. She rarely saw me during appointments and if she was there she was always rushed with her answers. Shes truly a cold egotist lady that needs to have her license revoked.
