What can we say? There are at least a hundred adjectives to use but we will just understate this as WOW. We are the pet parents of a stupendous (in our opinion) 6 1/2 year old Pittie named Sargent Major. We live in a pretty remote part of the state and normal every day sights such as cars, people and other "pets" are a rare occurrence. Hence Sarge isn't familiar with them and could be a bit aggressive when he encounters them. We have never boarded him for either daycare or extended boarding however we recently needed to have him at a boarding facility. Our nerves were way up there and the stress we felt was off the charts. My husband spoke to LAUREN and detailed our concerns, spoke of our love for and concern about having an unsocialized "puppy" who needed her services. We had spoken candidly with a few other people in the pet care field and we were informed more times than not that they were really not able to accommodate us (for which we were completely understanding). LAUREN asked all the pertinent questions, answered all of ours and suggested a one day orientation type stay for him to see how he would do (being his first ever time away from home) and to also see how they would be able to interact with Sarge. Night before we packed up his favorite blanket, his favorite toy, his food and snacks. The day dawned and Sarge was off to Fetching Ridge Pet Hotel and Spa. Sign in and drop off was a breeze. More comforting was how upbeat LAUREN AND STAFF were when we entered. The handoff was seamless and with a bit of apprehension Sarge was led off to his adventure. No phone calls from Fetching Ridge all day gave us confidence, apparently they must have been doing well at their trial. When we went to pick him up later that day a very smiling LAUREN greeted us and assured us that our day camper had done very well and behaved well! We received a full report about his free time activities, his feeding and interactions. When Sarge was brought out to us we were taking home a VERY HAPPY and TIRED dog. I realize that this has been a bit wordy, but I HAD to say in every sense with all the words that if you have a pet that needs grooming, boarding, daycare or all of it you MUST do your pets and yourselves the favor and allow Fetching Ridge Pet Hotel and Spa to take care of it! Sarge will be boarding there for 4 nights this weekend, we are headed on our own adventure with a calm and certainty that our boy is in the BEST CARE. We recently left our two pups for three nights. They had a great stay! We were very nervous because we have one dog that is quite anxious but the staff were super understanding and kept our nervous dog away from the other dogs. Our second dog is a social butterfly so they let her into the group playtime and she played with the daycare pups. When we picked the dogs up they seemed clean and happy. Even our nervous dog seemed fine. Usually she is a little shaken up when we leave her anywhere but honestly she seemed totally calm when we arrived. We are relieved to have a place that we can board the dogs if the need arises. The location is a little far for us but worth it since the dogs seemed well cared for and happy. Thank you! read more

We are staying in our Sugar Mountain condo for several months and needed to find a groomer to use during our time away from home. We took our Westie, Gus, for grooming at Fetching Ridge for the first time today. Kai did an excellent job! She listened to what we wanted and did everything we asked to our satisfaction. She told us Gus even gave her some kisses, so we know he must have felt comfortable with her - that made us very happy. My schnoodle, Hazel goes here for grooming and Maggie always does a fabulous job! I had to drop her earlier than her appointment time because of a prior appointment and instead of keeping her in a crate, they got her done earlier than expected. Thank you Maggie! I have had both my dogs groomed here and love their work! One of my babies is a puppy and they have now done his first two cuts and he looks amazing. Their kindness and attention to the dogs was outstanding. So much so that when we went out of town I boarded my dogs there. I have had dogs all my life and have NEVER boarded them, I have always had housesitters. Boss and Scooter loved their time there. They had play time with other dogs, play time with the staff, and lots of love shown to them. We took our English cocker spaniel here for a first time grooming. Were told that it would be no more than a two hour duration. However, it took four and a half hours. When we picked our pup up, he was shaved down and looked like a "bird dog". His beautiful skirt and feather coat was eliminated. SO very disappointed. Fetching Ridge provides great service and care for our goldendoodle. They're always flexible and willing to accommodate last minute requests - even when they don't have to. We've been to Fetching Ridge numerous times for boarding, haircut and overnight stays. We've never had an issue and I can always tell that they care about each pet that stays with them. It would be a lot of work to manage a place like that, and they do it well. Our goldendoodle is always happy and tired from a long day of playing when he comes back. Definitely recommended and we'll keep coming back. read more

Every detail I requested was met-the length, style, face/crown details. I'm completely pleased. Run away! I made a last minute reservation for two dogs. We were so happy to find a place that could take our family members for Thanksgiving. I arrived and asked to see the accommodations. I was told that I could not, because that would upset the other dogs in the kennel. I left the dogs, but then had a change of heart. Something didn't feel quite right. I called within 30-minutes and said I was coming to get them, and was told I would have to pay the boarding fee, or could not get my dogs. I then called the sheriff, who told me you could not keep my animals. We came to get the dogs,and told you the sheriff was on standby. That is the only reason you released them. People need to know that you keep the animals on plastic turf, not grass, they are in cages, not runs, have no access to the outdoors. There is no fire system, and no one on premise all the time.
