We are the pet parents of a stupendous (in our opinion) 6 1/2 year old Pittie named Sargent Major. We live in a pretty remote part of the state and normal every day sights such as cars, people and other "pets" are a rare occurrence. Hence Sarge isn't familiar with them and could be a bit aggressive when he encounters them. We have never boarded him for either daycare or extended boarding however we recently needed to have him at a boarding facility. Our nerves were way up there and the stress we felt was off the charts. My husband spoke to LAUREN and detailed our concerns, spoke of our love for and concern about having an unsocialized "puppy" who needed her services. We had spoken candidly with a few other people in the pet care field and we were informed more times than not that they were really not able to accommodate us (for which we were completely understanding). LAUREN asked all the pertinent questions, answered all of ours and suggested a one day orientation type stay for him to see how he would do (being his first ever time away from home) and to also see how they would be able to interact with Sarge. Night before we packed up his favorite blanket, his favorite toy, his food and snacks. The day dawned and Sarge was off to Fetching Ridge Pet Hotel and Spa. Sign in and drop off was a breeze. More comforting was how upbeat LAUREN AND STAFF were when we entered. The handoff was seamless and with a bit of apprehension Sarge was led off to his adventure. No phone calls from Fetching Ridge all day gave us confidence, apparently they must have been doing well at their trial. When we went to pick him up later that day a very smiling LAUREN greeted us and assured us that our day camper had done very well and behaved well! We received a full report about his free time activities, his feeding and interactions. When Sarge was brought out to us we were taking home a VERY HAPPY and TIRED dog. I realize that this has been a bit wordy, but I HAD to say in every sense with all the words that if you have a pet that needs grooming, boarding, daycare or all of it you MUST do your pets and yourselves the favor and allow Fetching Ridge Pet Hotel and Spa to take care of it! Sarge will be boarding there for 4 nights this weekend, we are headed on our own adventure with a calm and certainty that our boy is in the BEST CARE. Thank you Lauren and staff from the bottom of our hearts for caring for our puppy and us at the same time.

Was visiting the Boone area for a month. My rental was not conducive to winter time dog bathing. Thankfully I found the wash n waggin van while exploring Boone. I jotted the number down and gave them a call. I believe they serve watauga and ashe counties. Norma answered right away, we set up a time and she called when she was on her way. My two pups are big dogs and Norma greeted them enthusiastically. She plugged in to my house and hustled the dirty ones into her mobile salon (van) and I made a quick trip to the store. When I returned, they were just finishing up. The dogs looked and smelled incredible. Their coats really shine! They've also stayed stink free for longer than at home baths. Norma did a great job, was professional and friendly, has a great dog side manner and I'm so glad I found her. The long trip back to California will be much more pleasant.

The best sign is that Jake does not run and hide when she drives up in the yard. He is not the least bit anxious with her and that is a sign that she is gentle and really good with dogs. Her cost is about $10 more than some other groomers in town but it is worth the cost because I have a home-based business and can keep on working while Jake gets his hair cut. Our daughter works at the Boone Animal Hospital and Norma has a very good reputation for quality cuts and being really good with dogs with the folks who work there and their customers.

I have been coming here for 5 years, to span two different dogs and many different dog and cat friends. While a little pricier than other options in the area, this pet store is stocked with items that are well vetted and understood by the owners and employees personally. Every employee can provide genuine input and assistance into any pet related needs whether it's food, treats, harnesses or clothing, toys, etc. There are many familiar faces that have stayed working here over the years, which is always a plus. I also love what they do for the community, helping police dogs and sponsoring little events, such as around the holidays where they give free treats and coupons or other items. Follow their social media to stay up to date! There is a bath you can use (I haven't used it yet but have almost needed to so many times) where they provide all the materials and do the clean up. It's on a first come first serve basis, but you can always call to gauge how busy it is. Student discounts offered only on certain days. Not best budget for broke students but the assurance I have with the quality of the items (esp food) I'm buying for my dog is worth it.

My friend's dog has a lot of allergies and is getting old and arthritic (aren't we all???) so the grain free treats seem to do the best for her. We were greeted as soon as we entered. There is a cat section in the way back. The dog stuff is pretty much everywhere. Employees helped us find a few items but honestly just looking at labels was very simple. There was a large dog in the entry area, very friendly, maybe the owners? At check out, the two employees were very chatty and nice. We enjoyed our visit and were glad they were open on that holiday weekend (MLK).

My little cockapoo spent a week out there as we were moving and I know he got lots of love, lots of fetch time, and lots of dog socialization. The owner takes precautions in keeping the place extra safe during Covid which is highly appreciated. She wore a mask during the entire interview and staff did while interacting. Overall my experience was wonderful and I highly recommend them for boarding.

Just picked Happy up this morning after a week's stay with Lora at The Pet Prairie. She has slept…read moreall day. I think she had plenty of opportunity for exercise in the big field behind the barn. I arrived a bit early and had the opportunity to see Lora out in the field with all the dogs. Happy was wagging her tail and focused on Lora who was throwing a ball. I got the feeling that she is always 100% engaged with the dogs. Lora is very professional and follows all state requirements for running a boarding kennel. She understands dogs and helps each one feel comfortable in their new environment. I wouldn't hesitate to let Happy stay with Lora again.
