    Delived eggs with lobster

Got off the plane and came here to meet friends. On a Friday evening at 8pm there was some parking out front. Right next door to a hotel which is great for visitors. Service was great. Bar moves a little slow at times. But cocktails/mocktails are good. Small selection of wine. No beer on tap, but bottles. Music is just right in this place! All the 90's R&B and then some old school hits ya momma used to play as well. Must try a little of everything while here. We enjoyed apps and entrees as well as dessert.

This visit to Fia has been scheduled for a while! Our group wanted to check it out after visiting the owners other establishment: Amina! This space is located in the Gayborhood next to the Marriott Fairfield Inn! The space is not large..but it has a cool vibe! We had the brunch menu..ordered deviled eggs; Grits; eggs & ox tails & the burger! The food was flavorful and had good portion sizes! The drinks were made well...a bit on the pricey side! Be aware limited 'beer selection'! Service was prompt and friendly! I would return to sample the dinner menu!

I met up with a few friends for dinner here. A coworker raved about the food so I said I would give it a try. And it's black owned so I'm always down to support. The ambiance is quaint. The music was lovely! And the food was okay. My chicken and waffles was over the top with caramel popcorn and jalapeño cotton candy. It didn't need all of that. The chicken was a bit over fried also. I did see other tables with the snapper and it looked delightful. I will return to try it next time!

THE FOOD HERE IS AMAZINGGGGG. I had low expectations because of the reviews, and let me tell you, they're WRONG!!! How could everything taste so damn good?!! I really also like their spin of the spicy drink with chili oil. I know this is the part where I was supposed to deduct a star, but the food was that good!! There were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant, and I mean the service was really really slow, but for that heavenly bite? I'll wait!! Beautiful restaurant. Cute vibes. Tip: just order the entree. It's cheaper and more fulfilling than getting a bunch of appetizers.

The food at FIA restaurant in Philadelphia was fantastic. Was able to experience this restaurant with my mother during Philadelphia restaurant week for two evenings, It was also the week that I traveled from VA for a procedure and treatment at PennMed. We stayed at Fairfield hotel and thought the restaurant was part of the hotel. When we arrived and checked into the hotel we were introduced to being able to eat at the restaurant on site but was not informed that we would need to make reservation to eat dinner there. However when arriving the second evening the welcome was not welcoming but we was allowed to stay but the service was lacking. I must proudly say that both the First and Second evening the food was amazing, and the ambiance also was amazing. As I said we had dinner at FIA in Philadelphia for two evenings. The service and greeting the first evening was great, and inviting which was the reason that we returned the second evening and did not look to try a different restaurant, however the second evening was not as inviting or welcoming. When arriving we were informed that a reservation was needed but was told that since it was not full a place could be found for us, so we could stay, this was my mistake I should have left but it was cold and I had my 80 year old mother with me so we stayed. We were placed away from the hand full of people that was in the restaurant it may have been due to being unaware that there was a dress code and not having a reservation. This we were not informed of when checking into the hotel, we were just told that a restaurant is here on site, so I thought it was open to all that stayed in the hotel. I was dressed decently, but not in my finest clothes, but regardless the price for the dinner didn't change according to what I was wearing . I still paid the same that everyone else paid according to what was ordered in the restaurant, dressed up or not. So we were allowed to stay and was guided to a table that was stuck in the corner my guess is due to not have a reservation, by the way the restaurant was not Full at all, there was plenty of open tables it might have been 6 people there. Finally the server came to the table to take our order. We ordered and got what we ordered but pretty much nothing else no courteous service at all such as being asked if we needed anything or how was everything else however we was asked if a box was needed to go, felt like we was being asked to leave. The food was amazing. Hats off to the chef, however if I had to base my return on the lack of service the second evening, I more than likely would not return back to FIA restaurant in Philadelphia based on service. Generally, even when gratuity is added to my bill, I will normally give more than the 20% even if the gratuity is added in the bill for just two people, as it was for both evenings, however with the second night and the gratuity automatically being added to the bill for two people the tip would've been less than the 20% that was automatically added to the bill and nothing more according to the service received. The sad thing for me is that I will be returning to Philadelphia in February, as I will be returning to complete treatment at PennMed and I am hoping to stay back with Fairfield hotel however this will be the last night for me at FIA. A side note, my mother ordered the rainbow trout and she was asked how did she want the fish cooked well done or medium. I had no idea that rainbow trout could be served cooked medium, that was new for me, please if anyone has ever been asked if they would like their rainbow trout cooked medium or well done.

I had the pleasure of dining at new restaurant to the Philadelphia area, FÍA! I have enjoyed some culinary greatness at the other restaurants (AMINA and Black Hen) by the owners of FÍA ! Let me tell you all three restaurants are phenomenal and all have different vibes! The decor within FÍA definitely exhibits the appreciation for Afro-Latin aesthetic! To start - I ordered a cocktail ( fever kiss) and Jalapeño Cheddar Cornbread. That cornbread is so darn good! The jalapeño is not over powering at all but you do taste hints of it within every bite. My friend ordered the snapper and said it was excellent to everyone that asked how it was! The reason why multiple people asked about the snapper is because the presentation of the dish is creative. I ordered arroz con gandules, collard greens, Mac n cheese , the crab pot pie. Unfortunately , the arroz con gandules was not being made this night ! I was looking forward to trying this dish! The establishment is customer forward and very professional. The chef came over to our table and apologized for not having the dish and that was very much appreciated ! Now the standout dish for me is the CRAB POT PIE!!! The crust is light and flaky and filled with the most delicious creamy crab bisque! And they do not skimp on the crab meat! Last but not least our waiter Josh gets a 10/10! Josh Is the reason that the crab pot pie was even ordered! Josh was attentive( without being overbearing) , personable, and had knowledge of the menu. I will definitely be back ! Plus, I need to try those pink deviled eggs!

The decor was beautiful, and the atmosphere lively for a Thursday night. I was drawn to Fia for its Afro-Caribbean cuisine and the variety of menu options. We tried the gem lettuce salad, tostones, deviled eggs, and jalapeño cornbread. Although the portion sizes were smaller than expected, each dish was flavorful and well-presented. The salad was less grilled than anticipated but still tasty. The deviled eggs had a unique sweetness that was a pleasant surprise and complemented the flavors well. The cornbread was sweet with a hint of spice. However, as a Dominican and a bit of a tostones snob, I found them dry and small for being labeled "giant." Still, I'd definitely return to try more of the menu and enjoy the vibe!

It was just OK. I heard great things about them from my friends and I was really looking forward to going but I can't say I was impressed or would go out of my way to go back. To begin I had the cheesesteak empanadas which were just okay. Not really seasoned, kinda dry tbh and they served them on top of a smear of the sauce that's supposed to come with it instead of a ramekin of the sauce so you can dip it. Although it's listed as an appetizer I got the crab pot pie for my entree and it was delicious! Definitely enough for a meal and perfectly seasoned. I can't recall the name of the drink I got but it came with a shot of Prosecco on the side and it was pretty underwhelming for the price of it. We had a time constraint so we were not able to try dessert unfortunately bc service was a little slow but to be fair the place was full on a Saturday evening. As I mentioned I've heard great things from others so maybe this was an "off" night for them but I won't go out of my way to confirm.

This was our first visit here as the new restaurant. The space is small but quaint, though you'll be close enough to your neighbors to engage in their conversations. The menu wants to appear impressive, but it's a little confusing. There's a whole side of what seems to be appetizers and then a handful of main dishes on the right. We started with the deviled eggs. They had good flavor but I don't think we needed to she'll out the extra $5 for the little piece of lobster the garnished on them. I opted for the chicken and waffles and I really wish I hadn't. The plate arrived and looked impressive. A tower of chicken on top of four mini waffles on a bed of Cracker Jack, all dusted with powdered sugar. I couldn't figure out what was going on with the chicken. It was so dry and overbreaded. There was a sweet sauce in a cup that helped moisten it enough to swallow. I thought the caramel corn might be homemade, but it was definitely Cracker Jack and I had to be careful not to crack a tooth in it. They forgot the jalapeno cotton candy, but brought it when reminded. Way too much sugar on the plate. My dining companion opted for the lobster roll as he's had his share in New England. I asked him how it was and he said he'd never seen drawn butter with a lobster roll. Otherwise, he seemed to like it enough, but wasn't raving about it. I tried it and it was a better option than my chicken and waffles. The host/server seemed familiar. Maybe he used to work at the previous restaurant in the space. He was nice enough to let us know there was a 90 minute table limit. Our table was unbalanced so one of the drinks we ordered sloshed all over the table. And this is minor, but my view was of the TVs in the bar, both which were showing the same channel, but with a ten second delay between the images. It took my mind off my meal, so there's that. Would I return? Probably not. Limited menu and I wouldn't necessarily call it Afro Latino cuisine.

The food was good,, the drinks were way better and the service was great!! (Even though the food came out a little slow) They do include a 20% service charge on the bill. Just fyi.. they need more marketing bc it was empty... it was a vibe though maybe they should think of having an old school rnb brunch (hint hint) it would be the perfect place! Hope they start attracting more people... i would def go again!

I asked for medium heat and it wasn't really spicy at all. I'm Caribbean and no stranger to African spices, it wasn't really spicy to me. I might go up a level next time. I'm not complaining, but this information could be helpful to others. I asked for both sauces to try, they were both really good. The red one was really spicy and the white was a good blend for the food if you want to tone it down. The food was really good and I would def order again.

The flavor of the egusi was very unique and something I've never had before. It was spicy, nutty, and filled with umami flavor. I could not stop eating it! The chicken leg inside was SO tender and delicious. It was a generous portion as well, I was able to share it with my bf and we still had leftovers for the day after (both the fufu and the egusi). As for the chicken suya bowl, I believe we had the jollof rice with plantains, chicken, and cabbage and onions with suya suya sauce. The jollof rice was seasoned and flavorful. The chicken was tender and brought a bit of a kick. The suya suya sauce was mild but creamy and paired well with the cabbage and inions. The plantains were a bit sweet but they were tasty and helped cut a bit of the oil. I would definitely recommend this place and would come back to try other dishes. So good!

That would have been acceptable, except when I returned at the exact time given, I was told to wait an additional five minutes. What is the purpose of scheduling a pickup time if the order is not ready at that time? Customers' time should be respected. This is not an isolated incident. I consistently experience this issue with the same server. The attitude is dismissive and unprofessional. It often feels as though I am inconveniencing her by simply picking up food I have already paid for. The treatment toward women in particular is noticeably unpleasant and uncomfortable. If you arrive with a partner, the energy shifts in a way that feels intentional and inappropriate. Customer service is a choice. The repeated lack of professionalism, courtesy, and respect is unacceptable. Even when the food is decent, the experience overshadows it completely. I did not enjoy my meal because of how I was treated. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this establishment to anyone. Respecting customers' time and providing basic courtesy should not be optional.
