    Yummy baked banana dessert situation
    Orrin E.

Our friends made a reservation for a birthday dinner here. Love the decor and the ambiance of this cozy spot. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Service was great. Food was phenomenal. We started with cocktails and mocktails. 3 of us selected the prix fix menu. The tuna pasteles were flavorful, dipping sauce was yummy. Our table ordered Grilled Branzino, Mixed Suya Brochettes and the Haricot Sauté. We asked for some homemade hot sauce- which is and so good! Everyone loved their selections. We had one of each of the desserts- house fruit salad, banana flambés & carmelized pineapple. We raved to our friends about our experience and they're heading there next week to try it. We're planning on returning soon, too!

My boyfriend and I stumbled onto this gem for a date night, and it did not disappoint! The food was phenomenal, and the service was out of this world. We spoke with both the owner and chef, who were extremely attentive and kind! I also loved the interior decor. The vibes are very cozy, and you can tell the staff put a lot of care into curating a good experience for the customers. As for the food, my boyfriend said "it's one of the best meals he's had in Philly." The suya wings were definitely the standout dish. We also got yassa chicken, the misole, and banane flambé, all of which were great. I really like plantains, and the misole was cooked so well. Overall a great find!

Our first time here, it's a very small restaurant with music playing a bar great atmosphere, beautiful face carvings on the wall and the dinner was spectacular. It was worth us going, and having dinner at this restaurant. The food was great as wll as the mocktails. I'll waitress, Rachel had the most pleasant smile. And we had a little conversation as the restaurant was very busy. But the servers was phenomenal.

Had a wonderful meal at family-owned and run, BYOB Château Rouge! Currently offering prix fixe meals, our 4-top was excited to try almost every dish offered. Some of our favorites were: - Tuna Pastel (flaky pastry filled with tuna and spices, served with dipping sauce)--not fishy and also the dipping sauce was the favorite of the night! - Suya Wings (6 grilled wings marinated in Cameroonian Suya seasoning) - Misole (golden crispy plantain slices, lightly salted)--why do our homemade plantains never turn out like this?! - BH "Beignet Haricot" (tender red beans simmered in tomato sauce with garlic and herbs, served with rice)--incredibly delicious and comforting. - Yassa Poulet (chicken sauteed with onions and fresh lemon juice, served with Dijon mustard sauce)--loved the accompanying veggies! - House fruit salad--the pureed passion fruit was divine! We'll have to return to try more offerings--they'd just served their last available Banana Flambee, so that's a "start with" item next time! Welcome to Graduate Hospital, Château Rouge!

We passed through the beautiful dining room and sat in the cozy patio. The service was friendly and helpful. And the food was fantastic; the flavors were unique and delicious. We recommend the very reasonable pre fix.

Very nice, comfortable spot. The service was friendly and the food was good. The grilled chicken was tender and flavorful, with the flavor/seasoning being mild. They offer the option of additional sauces that can be added to season it further. I chose the peanut sauce, which was good. The sides were also tasty, which mild seasoning.

Phenomenal. Small, intimate restaurant with great service and very friendly. I love coming here for a dinner with my fiancé. If you're looking for something original and very tasty I cannot recommend Château Rouge highly enough!

The bartender was very apologetic (though i think our server gave him the wrong order so it wasn't his fault). We also got a cheeseboard to share, which was bigger than the server made it sound and not bad for a little snack between the 5 of us. Overall nothing was super special, but it was a nice spot to stop in and have a drink and a bite. Would consider coming back if I'm killing time in the area.

The bartender informed us that we could not sit at the table unless we were ordering food. At this point we ended our pub crawl and left defeated scratching our heads. This was far from a classy place without a line out the door during the week which made it even more alarming. Interesting experience as our last taste of Philly.

Then, for the entrees (we shared), we ordered the bavette (steak) with green beans and potato salad and striped bass, and for dessert, we ordered the corn brûlée. For drinks, two of us ordered a cantaloupe mocktail which was very refreshing. Overall, the food was great. I never knew you could pickle shrimp but pairing it with the saltine crackers was a nice touch since the pickled shrimp would be too sour on its own. The green garlic escar-roll tasted like a fancy garlic roll and it was pretty big for one person so it was easy to share. However, it was hard to cut and share the quail "galan-terrine" since the terrine is inside a quail bird and the bones were still there. The richness of the terrine was balanced with the brioche bread, since we spread it on top of the bread. The bavette (wagyu beef) was delicious but it was a bit on the chewy side since it was cooked medium rare (they didn't ask if we had a preference for the steak - rare, medium rare, medium well, well, etc) and the striped bass was fresh (however, the portion of the bass was small). For dessert, we ordered the corn brûlée and we didn't realize it was a corn brûlée (thought it was a regular crème brûlée at first) but it did have a subtle corn flavor, if you like the taste of corn desserts. Since it was my birthday and I made the reservation letting them know, they surprised us with two complimentary desserts: soft serve in mini sauce cups and a caramel ganache. They also gave me a super cute card with the My Loup logo (wiener dog) signed by the staff. This was one of the best birthday dinners I've had and I felt special. I would come back again, especially to celebrate special occasions and birthdays. The staff were sweet, the food was delicious, and the extra desserts and card were wonderful. :)

It seemed like all the staff was made aware so everyone who came by was very clear on what had an allergen and what didn't. Amberjack crudo- I felt the fish was a little too thick which didn't let the flavor of the sauce fully penetrate through. I wished for more acid flavor. The blistered tomatoes on top were the best part of this dish Lamb- I forget the name of this dish but it was thinly sliced lamb with turnip and a vibrant green sauce. I loved this. The sauce had a good blend of acid and herbs and brightened the whole dish. The lamb was tender. This came with fries and mayo and they recommended wrapping the fries in meat. The fries were crisped super well and the mayo was some of the best mayo I've ever had in my life. It was thick and rich and not eggy. The combo of meat, mayo, fry felt overdone and didn't add anything. Individually, each component was stunning and enough to stand on its own. Favorite bite of the night for sure though. Pork chop- butter and butter and butter. I thought nothing special. Not a fan of the mango pieces on top either. I thought you kinda had to dip it in the grainy mustard to be good Swordfish-The fish held up super well and texturally was almost meaty. I liked the lil pickled thin green bean looking things. Otherwise once again, butter. The combo of butter and capers was not my favorite combo Raspberry sorbet- yum! No lingering sugar taste at the end and a nice refreshing last bite
