Worst piercing experience. I am incredibly disappointed with Mom's Body Shop. They pierced my ears completely unevenly. The asymmetry was so bad and the piercing became so badly infected that I was forced to let one hole close up entirely. For both unevenly and infected reasons. When I went back to address the mistake and ask for a refund, their response was shocking: * Zero Accountability: They refused to accept any blame. * [[HIGHLIGHT]]Blamed the Customer: They claimed the entire issue was my fault.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] * Completely Inflexible: They refused to offer any financial resolution or money back. (They only said they would pierce me when it healed from their original unprofessional piercing. Which I of course refused. I obviously don't trust this establishment so why risk myself a second time.) This business is highly unprofessional and lacks basic customer service. Save your time and money--go somewhere that actually cares about symmetry, hygiene, and accountability. Will not recommend. read more

I had gone to get my labret pierced here, while I was visiting SF. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was clearly and explicitly told that, once it's time to downsize the peircing, any shop will do it for free and they recommended a shop near me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now I'm talking to different people at different shops, looking dumb as hell trying to ask if they will do it for free and getting told no Everytime.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So I had asked if, since they said that, they will give me some sort of credit for shortening my peircing, which they tell me no and accuse me of lying.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They say that even if I come to THEIR shop the jewerly will cost $15. I'm not coming back to their shop all the way in SF to still be charged $15 when they said it would be free! That's a lot more money than "free". Mom's will forever be my favorite place to get inked in San Francisco. The staff is so nice, super friendly and fun, and the artists are always top-notch. The fastest artist in the west is there, Jacek. So if you are like me, where you can totally handle the pain but it's really more about how long you can do it, then you've got to get tatted by Jacek- he's been tattooing for something like 30+ years and he's will finish a small /medium piece in 15 minutes. I've had a lot of work done by Baby who is no longer there but I've never been let down. Also, you don't need an appointment! Just walk in, even at midnight. I've started a new tradition for myself when I travel to cut back on the usual souvenirs. I don't have the closet space anymore for as many t-shirts from all the places I go or have been. So with that in mind, I decided to try to get a tattoo when I go to new places when it's possible of course. It's never a need to get one but if things fall into place, then it'll be a nice addition to the trip. I called ahead since I had long days of work and wanted to see if they had any space for a walk in appointment. Luckily, they said there were only a few people ahead of me. I decided to wait it out and try my luck, hoping they had enough time before they closed. Originally, I was going to get a bigger piece done but with the time winding down, I decided on something smaller. It all worked out and Anna was able to get me in just before closing. I got my septum pierced here last December. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Piercer explain very thoroughly their process, how and why they pierced it and explain how my nose structure is different.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He also explained that it should heal quickly and should be fine to switch to a smaller ring within a few days, and if I can't flip it up I should get it redone so I'm comfortable. Best piercing studio in the Bay easily. Might even go as far to say as California. I've been getting pierced here since 2014. I've gone to a few places in between and have had to mostly retire or was not satisfied w the placement/healing of the piercings. Where as at Mom's, I'm never disappointed. I always have the easiest time healing here and I think it is due to the proper care from the piercers as well as the quality jewelry. I love this place so much I let them hold on to my diamonds and bars for proper sterilization and storage. Can't recommend this place enough! Came again in 2024 and got turned away - they said they close at midnight (false advertising - says 1am on Yelp) and they were actively piecing people. Open sign was still on when we left at 12:15. For the last few years, I've been a dedicated customer of a different shop. However, as of late, I just was not satisfied with their service. I saw the great reviews of Mom's so I decided to swing by. I was having issues with a piercing from my old place and when I came to Mom's a piercer came and looked at it and gave me advice on how to further care for it. I didn't catch their name, but they were super friendly and gentle! I came back recently to replace the jewelry I had checked out, and the person working the front was very welcoming. They informed me there was a scheduling issue w the piercers so no one was available, but she was super apologetic about it. They informed me that she wanted to ensure a piercer was available to ensure I had the most tailored experience w sizing my jewelry. I appreciated the honesty over making a quick sale! i came back the next day when a piercer could see me, and the process was so easy. The piercer was different than the one I had consulted with previously, but equally as kind and nice. I asked to size down on a piece they had picked out and they accommodated no problem. My ears have literally had no problems since replacing it with the jewelry from here. A breath of fresh air tbh! I would 100% come back and recommend this place. 10/10 recommend getting your piercing done by Kevin! He's friendly, professional, attentive, and knowledgeable and so are the people who work in the front! Already recommended my family and friends to go see him. Got 3 piercings done and one was swollen a week later because my toddler bumped into it.. I went to see a doctor before hand because I assumed the earring was embedded inside and infected. The doctor told me that it wasn't and to just pull the backing out to heal and take antibiotics. Good thing I didn't listen to her and went to see Kevin because he was able to push the front part out and put in new earrings for me with a longer post so I can heal. Absolutely gem of a spot. I watched my friend get his first tattoo here so when it was time to get my first piercings, I figured it would be best to check this spot out.. Upon entering I was happily greeted by a kind lady who let me know the piercer would be in soon, I took a stroll around the area and came back at the given time. The kind lady greeted me and prepared me on the procedure then scheduled me with Analouise, who I highly recommend. Analouise was super knowledgeable and extremely professional. She was very clear with aftercare instructions and talked me through the entire process which made it so easy. I didn't feel any pain or discomfort. 0 stars and my first review. Honestly pains to say bc I had a wonderful experience here years ago but these people just wasted almost 2 hours of my time. Understand it's Friday the 13th and you're busy but don't lie to customers about where they are in the line if you made a mistake. I saw the person in front of me get helped and leave 30 mins before I even brought it to their attention. The person helping me (I think the owner/manager???) even acknowledged that it seemed I was waiting too long. They told me I was 34/39 in line (which wasn't possible bc I was drinking a beer directly across the street for my stated 1 hour wait and saw AT LEAST 10-15 people go in after me) I didn't say anything at first but then when I saw 3 more folks go in front of me after returning, I asked again how much longer I can expect (very kindly), and he inquired if I was local and whether I could go home and wait for them to call me. TF? Completely unprofessional and raised his voice at me + caused a scene when I finally expressed frustration. Embarrassing for him bc I just left. Wasted 2 hours, and can't do much about it because why the hell would I wanna get pierced/tatted by some angry men??? Should've trusted my gut when I felt his initial vibe. I came in just looking to do a quick flash, ended up scheduling an appointment for something more intricate. Then I was like "hmmm I'm here let's do something else" so I decided to get a piercing. Came by on a whim while in the city for Labor Day weekend, and luckily they took walk-ins. Hosanna worked with me to get as close to what I wanted, and I love it so much! It was a small piece and fairly simple, but my artist took her time to add some details and dimension, which I really appreciated. This came out to $120 + 20% tip (shop minimum is $100, which is actually not bad at all). The shop is clean, the staff is suuuuper helpful and kind, and the location is great! Single star off just because the wait took a bit longer and the shop did get just a tad cramped; I was pretty anxious at times while getting tattooed because people (and some kids!) would walk a little too close to me for comfort (the risk of the bed getting bumped is scarier when there's a needle in you lol).
