Went to the Thursday's Chicken and Rib special. We've had it before and I gotta say we're usually pretty happy with it. However, this time the ribs were dry and hard (old tasting). Someone needs to do quality control. Those ribs should not have been served. The baked potato option was good the brocolli option was bad, tasted odd left it on the plate. Mentioned it to the server with no response. The salad I had was a little wilted and one piece of greens was black and shriveled on the end of one of the stems. The old fashions were spot on. The bartender, he's top notch. Service was just okay nothing special. This will be the last time for Thursday nite special for us. The meals alone were 54 bucks and the only good part of the meal was the bread and broasted chicken which were both prepared fresh. We have been coming here for well over a decade. We used to be able to enjoy great meals on a regular basis. Whether a large table or a table of four, we could count on good food and good service. I'm sorry to say that my last several visits here were not only disappointing but the last visit on July 7, 2024, has me never going back. On more than one occasion in recent past, we have had food cooked incorrectly. I kept coming back because I know there are few restaurants up north and I want to try to support the businesses. This was the last straw. One of the items we ordered was a hamburger, medium-rare. It came out very well-done, almost burned. We asked for another one. The waitress came out and told us that the kitchen refused to redo the dish. The waitress said she would just place another order take it out of her own money. She was crying. She also asked for us not to complain as she would get in trouble. Mind you, a similar thing happened to us over a year before, with a different waitress. Mistakes are made in any business. Dishes are over or undercooked but it is how the business deals with it, which makes the difference. I'm done with this place. I understand that after last winter, businesses are struggling but the customers are struggling too in this economy and are spending a lot of money to enjoy an evening out. If we are paying for a dinner, we should be able to get it cooked correctly. read more

After vacation and living in St. Germain every summer for my entire life, my family and I decided to try Fibbers in October during the start of dead season since it's insane in the summer time after seeing so many people post about how they have the best fish fry on Facebook whenever people ask. To our surprise it was extremely crowded but we didn't have to wait. We sat in the way back of the restaurant and had to wait a while since they were so packed (we don't mind waiting, we know and understand the staffing issues here so we never complain about waiting!) our server was very nice and was running all over the place attending to his tables. We all ordered the fish fry, 2 clam chowders and I got a French onion soup. The soups were ok, the fish did not live up to the hype. I had the walleye, it was extremely over cooked and whatever breading they use for frying the fish was really overbearing and not what I look for in a fish fry. I also had to pick out a bunch of fish bones as well. The other two people in my party agreed and said the fish fry wasn't anything special and that we wouldn't come back here for a fish fry night but would consider coming back to try something else on the menu. One more thing I want to note about Fibbers is that this place gets VERY loud. If you're coming here with family looking to have conversation, this is not the place to do so. Always have great service here. Fish fry is excellent as well as their clam chowder which they won awards for. I believe they have a German food night which sounds great to me. I've been wanting to try german night just haven't had a chance just yet but it's definitely on my must try list. The ambiance here is perfect for the northwoods. Try it. This place has been on our list to stop for a while. We ventured in last weekend and decided to have a drink and lunch. Bloody Mary- 7.5/10. It was very good and had great flavor. The usual toppings with a perfect crunchy pickle. Solid Bloody Mary. Food- I got a burger and boyfriend got the hot beef dip sandwich. The burger components were all delicious... not the burger itself. Unfortunately it tasted like a frozen premade patty. Not low quality but just average. If the burger patty itself was fresh, it would have been an amazing burger. Fries good. Beef dip was huge and had lots of flavor. Atmosphere was great, loved looking out at the lake and all the fish on the walls. Very cool spot to stop and check out. They have a bar area and dining area. Very large place ! Service was attentive. Recommend stopping in the next time you're looking for a quick bite and cold drinks. read more

This is the last week of July 2019 and full height of Covid-19. We wore masks to pick up carryout food. the fried perch and walleye was ok, fried shrimp didn't have much shrimp taste to them and the fries were very stale and dry. Granted it was carryout but we ate it immediately after we brought it up home after the 3 min commute. Food was disappointing and none of the staff wore masks. read more

Fibber's food is good. We definitely enjoyed the ribs and the apps. Unfortunately, this review is not about the food but about the establishment itself. My family and I were extremely disappointed with the shirts staff members were wearing with a "Musky lives Matter" in "black lives matter" font on the front of it. While we understand this restaurant does care for muskies and is involved in the conversation of the fish, it entirely belittles the actual black lives matter movement and is extremely offensive. Very disappointed to see the carelessness in wearing that shirt, especially in such a climate we are in. Be better. read more

Darren's Rule: The quality of a fish fry is directly correlated with the number of taxidermy fish on the walls. It never fails. Fibber's is a lovely little bar/restaurant on the shores of St. Germain. Decor is Wisconsin Supper Club, with log walls, beer signs, and a game room featuring Buck Hunter (you put in 50 cents and shoot game animals with a plastic rifle. Decor aside, we had the fish fry (Tuesdays and Fridays). Our waiter was attentive and thoughtful. We were presented with options: Our choice of cod, perch, or walleye; beer batter, breaded, or baked. That's nine choices. We chose the walleye because Wisconsin. It should have been called a whale-eye. That fillet was so huge it hung off the ends of my rather large plate. It was perfectly done, beer battered, and went well with the pub fries I chose. This is a great place; not gourmet, but if it exceeds the taxidermy musky rule by a lot. read more

I'm only going to give 3 stars right now and normally I would've gave them 5 stars. I have been to Fibbers a few times this year and have normally had great service. Now I know with the covid issues and having a hard time finding help they have started opening later in the day (they need to change their website showed they were open like @ noon today when they actually didn't open till 4). But the real reason I'm kind not impressed with them right now is we were the first customers thru the door. when I asked if we could eat out on their porch I was told only drinks on the porch no food, ok totally fine with that. I then asked if we could order food at the bar along with our drinks the bartender then informs us only appetizers at the bar no sandwiches and we would have to eat in the dining room if we ordered sandwiches. It is literally 15 feet from where we were already sitting enjoying our drinks and there were 3 servers standing at the bar waiting. Like I said we were the 1st customers thru the door. Their excuse was because if it got busy they wouldn't be able to serve us. We have been there in the past and have always ate the bar. Looks like we won't be going back there for awhile. read more

The chicken meal and the soup was excellent. The walleye was full of bones and a challenge to eat. None of the staff wore masks and halfway through our meal they sat a party of 4 right next to us although the dining room was basically empty. When we questioned why they were seated there when so many tables were empty, we were told "we seat all the tables" There were only 4 parties seated in the restaurant and all pretty close together, not safe at all with covid cases rising. read more

Stopped at Fibbers on a Monday night- German night. The food was phenomenal! Made from scratch potato pancakes- no mix here, the sauerkraut was just the right amount of tang and crunchy.
