This is a wonderful practice. I loved everyone I dealt with. I had my procedure at the Niagara Falls location. The nurses were amazing. You can feel the love and passion they have for their job the moment you walk in the door. Dr. Endl is a real professional. He has pride in what he does and his staff is happy. Over a year ago went to Fichte for a routine eye exam . I was told that the time I would own nothing and that my insurance would cover it . Six months later I got a bill for $255 is stating that my insurance did not cover that . I called and ended up speaking to an office manager and was told without any contingency that the bill was inaccurate that the bill was submitted the insurance and correctly and would be rectified . I was told that I would owe nothing and I should ignore any future bills . There was no contingency about hearing back for the insurance company . I was told that all they were an error and that I did indeed owe the $255 months later. I told them I'd be happy to pay the bill provided they can provide me recording made of the conversation where I was told that my payment was contingent upon insurance company approval . Instead of just being told to ignore future bills and that it was handled . 14 months later we are still going back and forth about this and they have no interest in providing the recording . I cannot stress how highly you should never deal with these lying money-grubbing bastards . read more

Don't use their optometrists service for your glasses. Told me there was a chance of breaking my frames and of course they broke my frames. Had to make another trip to bring them another pair and the lenses are loose in the frame. $470 + $200 billed to insurance. They did offer a discount on new frames but over $300, no way. I was a patient for many year. I always go for a yearly check up. I called in February due to double vision and scratchy feeling on my eye, I was told that they had no opening. I asked to be put on a cancellation list. I talked to a nurse, she said it was probably dry eye and to take drop. A month and a half later when my eye still was not doing any better I called to see if I can have an appointment and they told me your yearly three weeks so we'll just wait for that and again it's probably just dry eye to continue with more . When I finally got to my appointment in the beginning of May discovered that I had wet MD in my left eye. Needless to say, I was so disappointed that they did not fit me in in February when maybe we could've prevented of the way my eye is. I will never go back there again. read more

Do not go here for Scleral Lenses. They charge $2500 for them. I already had a couple of previous pairs. My reason for getting new ones was that my current lenses were older and I needed an update on the prescription. I had no double vision or glare from lights at night while driving with that pair. They are the only type of contact lenses that help me with vision issues from Keratoconus. I started the process of fittings for these lenses at Fichte in May 2025. The person fitting me could not get them right. I was going back and forth there almost every 2-3 weeks. Some lenses were slightly better than the last and some were worse. On November 28th, 7 months in, I still had multiple vision issues and glare. The woman helping me stated there was nothing more that she could do and told me that my eyes are the problem and this is just the way I am going to see from now on. I explained that I had no problems with glare or multiples with my last pair the day I came in to Fichte. Just the ones she ordered. She sat there and told me that my eyes have aged and changed starting that date I came in there. She told me no contact would fix my eyes and that this is how I will see from now on. Funny thing is, I went home and put the contacts I was using prior to going to Fichte in my eyes and I have no glare from lights or multiples in my vision. I still just need a new prescription, but I see better with the old contacts. So basically I paid $2500 for contacts that I cannot see with and there is nothing that Fichte will do about it. Very sad the amount of money they make and they don't stand behind their reputation. The quality of the care I received was very poor. A very frustrating and expensive mistake. read more

Stay away from Tom Elmer. I had strabismus surgery by him and my eyesight is no better after surgery than before. This guy will tell you how good he is and the wonderful things he can do. I asked him if the goal was to reduce the double vision? He said "no, to eliminate it. Sometimes it takes two I'm confidant I can get it in one." He didn't. On the follow up appointment after surgery he told me to use my original prescription. No mention of a second try. Several months later I had more double vision with my prescription. he prescribed more prism to correct the double vision. I never got another call from him to see how I was doing. He should be held accountable but people like him seldom are. And he'll sleep well a night with all his money. Because that is more important than the patient. read more

I have been going to Fichte for years and they are great in general, this is the first time I have had a bad experience. I just had my annual exam a few weeks ago and I had the lenses of my glasses updated with frames I already had (purchased from Fichte a few years ago). The person helping me went to adjust the arms and while she was cleaning the lenses the frame itself broke. Apparently this is on me and I have to pay even though THEY broke them. I understand they are a few years old but when I gave them to you they were not broken. Now I have to pay this unexpected charge on top of the $1,100 I already spent on contacts and lenses. Also, I don't know who he was but a gentleman, maybe a manager for the optical area chimed in, who by the way does not have a customer service tone, acting like it's my fault because my glasses are a few years old. read more

I got LASIK surgery on both eyes in March of 2014. My vision at first was 20/15... better than 20/20! It did go back to 20/20 (still SUPER impressive!) but they said it could get better if my eyes weren't so dry. That's been the only issue since I had the surgery. My eyes feel a little cloudy and sometimes eyedrops really don't do anything. I may take them up on their suggestion of putting artificial tear ducts in to help with that. I've been recommending LASIK to anyone I know that wears glasses or contacts that I've come across within the last 4 years... one of which is my husband, he actually got it done a year after me! His vision is also still great, but he has the same dry eye problem. read more

Had Lasik Surgery in 2010. Every patients prognosis is different. It can last from 7 to 13 years, as the aging process of every persons eye is different. If you think you will have perfect vision forever you are not a good candidate for this procedure. My vision lasted for 9 years with great vision, will opt to get the surgery again once the money is saved. It costs 1600-2100 per eye if you are eligible and rarely covered by insurance. It was worth it for me not having to worry about contacts or glasses. I just recently called and spoke with Debbie on the phone. She was very polite and knowledgeable and answered every question I had. I appreciate her friendliness and helpfulness. Every business needs a Debbie! read more

I despise this place. As I write this review, I am sitting in yet another chair.... the fourth time waiting since I've been here..... FOR THE PAST 73 MINUTES! And it matters not what time your appointment is set for. Oh sure, they'll get you started on time, but after that first 10 minute evaluation, you do nothing but wait..... and wait..... and wait. I've been here first thing in the morning and then again late in the afternoon. Had I not been referred by a friend (thanks a lot, D) and started this process to see if I even qualify for surgery, I'd walk out right this second and never come back. Ive had lasik here several years ago and everything was fine and vision restored. My one star is that a few years ago my primary said I have a cataract in left eye so I saw them and scheduled a date 6 months out, I thought not a issue so no big deal. About a month later I called to say I'm loosing my vision in left eye and should I come in, lady on phone said not necessary but will move up appointment 2 months sooner, WELL next day I was completely blind so I called and different lady said to come in which I did, total detached retina and needed emergency surgery so I was referred to retina consultants and Dr Lee saved my eye however I can't see much just shapes and colors but at least it's not a marble lol. Had I been seen a day earlier would have restored my vision. So at the age of 52 I had 1 working eye, here's the funny/sad part I called the BIG injury law firm we see on ty and they said " can't take case because your 70% to blame" I kid you not, when I informed them I'm not a eye surgeon they laughed and said bye bye. These guys are good. I really do trust them with my son's eye care. He is 11 and has Down Syndrome and we have been seeing Dr Elmer since he was 1 year old. If my review were based solely on this aspect it would be a five. But. And this is a big but. Every time I schedule an appointment I get the earliest of the day 6 months in advance. And every single time I am here I wait an extra 30-90 (today is 90) minutes to be seen. Not only is it problematic for school and work schedules, it is a challenge to keep a kid entertained while waiting for so long. I am beside myself with anxiety for his patience to wait this long. I am frustrated that I tell work I can be in 2 hours after my scheduled appointment to be wrong. I would give them a 1 Star in customer scheduling and service. This is severely problematic. Pleased with the eye exam. NOT A FAN OF HAVING TO WAIT TO GET NEW PRESCIPTION FOR NEW LENSES FROM THE OPTOMETRIST. THE REAL REASON FOR THIS IS TO TRY TO SELL YOU A NEW PAIR OF GLASSES FROM THEM. NO OTHER REASON. I have very specific size requirements that I want in new frames and gave them to the person. I told them I didn't want anything different than those exact specific size details. Period. I was then handed multiple frames of similar sizes but with all smaller specifics then I said I wanted. I understand that they needed to look on the actual frames for the size details but if all 3 size specifics on a pair of frames is different then what I told them I wanted why hand them to me to try on? Then I got some attitude when I said I didn't want to try on anything unless it was exactly or larger than I was looking for. How hard is it to listen to me as a customer? Bottom line ... I would NOT make purchase of new glasses from this business because they did NOT listen to me. Wondering if I'll even return for my yearly eye exam again? read more

Not sure what went wrong with this place; for years I recommended Fichte to anyone who asked because it was so professionally run and the optometrists were really wonderful, but after my last experience, never again. Here's my list of grievances: 1. Making an appointment is shockingly challenging; the receptionists have this habit of hanging up (happened 2-3x in a row in one day!) mid conversation. I don't think it's done on purpose, it's probably some other issue, but still, annoying. 2. You. Will. Wait. If I was going to see one of the MDs here, I'd be more understanding, but the OD? I wasn't thrilled waiting over 45 minutes in a very uncomfortable chair in the exam room. It seemed to me, judging by the conversation I could hear, they overbook their appointments and have minimal staff to cover them. 3. I have health insurance, quite good health insurance, but unfortunately, I do not have vision insurance. Fortunately, I'm more than able to pay for my vision exams out of pocket. I just wanted to know how much it would be before committing to the appointment. Both the receptionist on the phone and the receptionist in the office quoted me about $150. Great, no problem. I walk out, and I receive a $300 bill. I could pay the bill, but I was shocked at the difference. When I inquired, I was told that I had tests done to my eye for a "comprehensive exam". That's all well and good, but, what if I couldn't afford it? I was not informed that I was having additional tests done that would drive up the costs!!! Luckily I'm able to pay for it, but what about someone who couldn't? Not right on their part! 4. I received several phone calls in the weeks after my appointment telling me I owed a balance; still wasn't sure what they were talking about (I had the zero balance receipt). Finally, I faxed them a copy of the zero balance receipt (which they had given me), to which they responded "oh, wait, sorry, it was the doctor's error, sorry". Argh!!!! 5. When I went to order my contacts, it turned out, my prescription was never fully signed by the doctor. I didn't realise this until one of the Contact Lens companies called me and said "your prescription isn't valid, we can't process it!". I had to call the office, and while it was quickly resolved, it was just another reason never to go there. End result: Not sure what has happened to this place; it's not what it used to be, time to find a better place! read more

My experience having LASIK was great! The office staff & assistants were very helpful in scheduling and letting me know what to expect in the weeks ahead. Dr Elmer performed my procedure. Him and his staff made me feel relaxed and confident throughout the 10 minute process. It's been about 6 weeks and my vision continues to improve. I'm between 20/20 & 20/15. Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare was the approved/preferred QualSight LASIK provider listed by my health insurance company, but my mind was made up way before I knew that! When I enquired on Facebook as to the "safest" place to have the procedure done, I was immediately overwhelmed by the response. Every friend that had the procedure done went there! I don't believe all that I read on the internet, nor should you, but just ask around!! I don't have to tell you the potential anxiety level acquired when thinking about someone meddling in your eyes or jeopardizing your long term vision. The staff were SO reassuring, SO friendly, efficient, factual and professional I was amazed. I walked out of there after my initial consult KNOWING that I would be JUST fine. It's a "large" practice I suppose, but you can tell THEY ARE A FAMILY. A well-oiled machine. They have FUN doing what they do. Don't even get me started about Dr. Elmer and his entourage with their *****5 star theatrical performance in the surgical room aimed at reducing my anxiety. I went to Dr. Endl for an ongoing eye twitch. I had an upcoming tournament for my son and a wedding in Myrtle Beach that I have been planning for over a year and I didn't want to have an embarrassing and bothersome eye twitch. Dr. Endle administered Botox to correct my issue on July 11th, I had asked multiple questions beforehand and was assured that he was experienced in doing these types of injections and told that I wouldn't have any issues at all, In fact I didn't even sign the waiver until after my procedure. I am no stranger to Botox, I've had injections over the past two years cosmetically and have NEVER had any issues. That evening I noticed bags developing under my eyes. Mostly my left because that is where he did the bulk of his injections but since he did both eyes I did experience some swelling under my right eye also. By the morning I had wrinkles so bad under both eyes that I looked like I aged 30 years overnight. Within 48 hours my left eye began to droop (lid ptosis) I was seen in the office later that week to which the Dr. told me that it wasn't that bad it wouldn't get any worse and I was sent home. Over the next five days my eye became so dry and inflamed that my eyelids were literally sticking to my eyeballs because my eyes don't fully close after the injections. As a result I started experiencing blurred vision, headaches from eye strain and felt very off balance.The following week I was seen by another Dr. in his office, I was visibly upset when I saw her. She assured me that it wouldn't get any worse and this wasn't permanent but might take a few months for the Botox to wear off. She gave me some samples of eyedrops that help open the eyelid, I took the eyedrops when I got home and within an hour I was in the ER with what I believe was an allergic reaction. I was treated as an allergy patient and my discharge papers say allergic reaction.The next day I contacted the office to see what my next step would be, I spoke to the triage nurse and at this point he was not very understanding or compassionate to me or my situation. I was told that I did not suffer from lid ptosis from the injection even though it was visibly obvious and the ER Dr. told me that's what had happened. He also told me that I did not have an allergic reaction even though I was treated and medicated for an allergic reaction. I was treated very callously, I was told to stop crying because that was making it worse and they believed everything was caused by anxiety. Because after all I'm just an overreacting female. Who wouldn't be anxious if their one side of their face was drooping, they couldn't see clearly, couldn't go anywhere without sunglasses because of light sensitivity and was so off balance they were afraid to drive? I was so upset I ended up going to see my injector at the spa I usually go to for help. $368 later she was able to help slightly with the under eye wrinkles but didn't want to keep injecting me until the other Botox wore off. She explained to me in depth what had happened and why my eye was drooping and why I was developing wrinkles above my eyebrows and below my eyelids. Not that it made me feel any better but at least I knew I wasn't overreacting and it would get better in time. I went to my son's out of town tournament and was unable to watch him play or partake in any outdoor activities because my eyes were so sensitive to the sun even in sunglasses. When we got back I went to see a different eye doctor, he was amazing, gave me samples of a different eye drop, thankfully they are helping with no negative reactions. The drops are not covered by insurance and cost $150 for one month supply, before filling the prescription I reached out to Dr. Endl's office manager in hopes that they would at least compensate me for the eye drops, It has been over a week and nobody has contacted me back regarding the drops or any resolution to my situation. Next week is the wedding and I am so depressed by my appearance that I refuse to be photographed. This whole situation has been very emotionally and financially draining. read more

I have been a customer here for about 10 years and finally took the plunge and got the all Laser Lasik procedure done last month. You must first go in and get a consultation done, there is a fee for this but it was waived due to a promotion they were running for Christmas in July. It also gave a 20% discount. The procedure itself is really easy, you are only in the operating room for about 15 minutes total. It is uncomfortable but not that bad. The first night you cannot see that well and your eyes are sensitive but it gets better each day. I would say by day 2 I was seeing pretty clearly. The total cost for the best all laser version that i got was about $3500, that was with the 20% discount. I also purchased the life long maintenance plan for an additional $300. All in all the procedure was simple and not painful and I am glad I got it. The reason I am only giving 4 starts is there appointment times. They are often a bit behind which can be frustrating. I hate being brought in late to appointments then put in a chair to wait another 20/30 minutes for the doctor to show up. It happens pretty often otherwise I wouldn't mention it. But the I am seeing great and no more contacts/glasses. read more

Today was finally the day that I got my LASIK surgery and I couldn't be happier that I decided to make the investment and get it done! Obviously the only place I would trust to do the surgery is with Fichte Endl and Elmer Eyecare. Everyone from start to finish was wonderful and comforting. I went with the all laser lasik option, which is a little bit pricier than the other options they offer but I felt it was the safest and fastest recovering procedure. The surgery literally took a half hour from start to finish...they were quick, efficient, comforting and it was painless. My surgeon was Dr. Endl and he was fantastic. They are very thorough...from explaining post surgery procedures to talking me through everything while in the surgery room. If you're feeling anxious they can offer you medication to calm your nerves but honestly, it's not even necessary. They give you plenty of numbing drops during so you don't even feel a thing. They offer you 24 hour service if you have any questions or concerns post surgery. This is very comforting. Dr. Endl personally called me a couple of hours after to make sure I was feeling ok! If you're thinking about getting LASIK done I highly recommend going to Fichte Endl and Elmer. They have free open houses all of the time to educate yourself on the surgery and you also get to watch a live one to see how it works. You then have to schedule a two hour consultation to make sure you're a good candidate for the procedure. (Hint: if you schedule your consultation at an open house, they take money off of your surgery!) Overall, great experience from start to finish. They schedule you a one day post surgery check up, one week check up, and six week check up to make sure everything looks good. They even gave me complimentary champagne glasses to replace my old glasses (get it....lol) And if anyone is curious, it is 6 hours after my surgery and I am typing this and feel great! My eyes are a little blurry and sensitive but other than that I feel amazing!! read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I waited over an hour for just a routine eye exam. I was told my eye exam would be $10 and for contacts it would be an additional $40. I said I just needed the eyeglass exam as I already had a current contact lens prescription and I paid the $10 for just the eye exam. After the appointment (going on two hours at this point) I was chased out to the parking lot saying I owe another $40 and I explained that I had refused the contact fitting so I should not owe $40. I then received a bill for the $40, called and tried to get through to the office manager, was told he would call me back and he never did. I then got another bill, called back and finally talked to the manager. The manager said the bill still stands. I told him that aside from the bill the wait times are horrible and he told me to stop changing the subject. You would think an office manager would care about the overall experience. I will not be a returning patient after this overall terrible experience. read more

I Was left with double vision and the feeling of an eyelash in my eye due to dr Elmer's incorrect placement of the flap in the left eye. I found this out while getting a second opinion, since the surgeons at Fichte refused to see any time post surgery even though I had mentioned the constant discomfort and vision problems during several office visits. They chose to try to convince me this was all because of dry eyes. This place just wants your money and once they have it you don't matter they just want to crank out as many lasik procedures as quickly as possible and they will not ignore you if they already have your money. STAY AWAY if you like seeing 20/20. I'd do anything to have not getter this procedure done at their office by dr Elmer. He made a mistake and didn't even want to acknowledge or fix it. read more

I am now two months out from my PRK procedure and I think at this point I have enough understanding to write a decent review, so here goes. First off, this clinic offers an outstanding value because their prices are very reasonable and you really do get a lot for your money. As my first foray into for-profit healthcare, I was pleasantly surprised. The flat fee for the procedure covers the pre-surgical evaluation, the surgery itself, and multiple post-surgical followups. Also included are some trivial but convenient supplies such as ice packs, analgesic eye drops, medical sunglasses, and a sleep mask. By contrast, some of the more "commercial" clinics do not include the extensive followup. You actually get to meet the doctor who performs your procedure before the procedure, which is also something that not all clinics offer, although post-surgical care is almost entirely by other providers. Everyone that I've dealt with at the clinic has been excellent in their professionalism and courtesy, and all of my questions before and since the procedure were answered quickly and clearly. As to the procedure itself: There are a few different procedures offered, including traditional lasik, all-laser lasik, and PRK. Skip this next part if you can't handle the graphic. I opted for PRK because it has the fastest recovery time for high-impact activity, although the recovery is more unpleasant than the other procedures. Whereas lasik involves cutting a "flap" in the surface of the cornea, minimizing the surface damage that has to heal, PRK involves removing and destroying the surface "skin" from a large portion of the eyeball. This part of the procedure is a source of complications and risk at many other clinics, but Dr. Elmer has simplified the procedure to lower the risk. He uses alcohol to soften the cells and then simply wipes them off with a cotton swab. This method assures that only the surface cells are removed, unlike abrasive techniques used elsewhere that run the risk of eroding the hard surface of the cornea and causing further complication or injury. Before that portion of the procedure, which is the source of the pain and extended healing process of PRK, numbing drops are applied that prevent you from feeling anything at all. The experience of the actual laser surgery was somewhat anticlimactic. You lay down and stare up into the laser source. The clinic describes what to expect as like a laser light show, and that is accurate; you just see swirling colored lights, and none of it feels exceptionally bright. I had no difficulty keeping my gaze in the right direction for the 30 seconds or so that each eye was under the laser. After that, the surgery is complete, and you immediately see at 20-20. Now comes the bad part: with PRK, your vision really does fluctuate for several weeks after the procedure as you heal, and pain sets in a few hours later when the numbing drops wear off. The pain wasn't that bad, but the fluctuating vision is very scary. Don't worry, though. Just as Dr. Elmer reassured me, full vision is restored in a few weeks. Personally I was extremely light sensitive for more than a month after the procedure, and had to actually layer two pairs of sunglasses to drive for a while. I even had to wear sunglasses to drive at night. Now, though, two months out, I'm down to regular sunglasses for bright daylight and can do without sometimes like I did before. I still need them more than I did before the surgery, but it's no longer a serious problem. Through this process, the team at Fichte Endl Elmer were there reassuring me of what would happen next. You get follow-up appointments at 1 day, 1 week, 6 weeks, and 3 months. There may or may not be another after that, I'm not really sure, but that means that your fee covers at least six visits including the surgery itself. On the whole I am extremely satisfied with the surgery and the result. My vision, which was worse than 20/200 before the procedure, is now better than 20/20 and I'm told it will continue to improve as I finish healing. There are several discounts available that I recommend taking advantage of. First off, go to an open house. They are offered monthly and give you a chance to watch a procedure done, meet your doctor, and ask any questions you have, plus free food and a discount. They also offer discounts to members of certain insurance plans including the VA and Tricare, even if your insurance doesn't contribute. Like most clinics, they offer two-year free financing through CareCredit, but keep in mind that this interest-free benefit does not cover the initial deposit or your prescriptions, so it's recommended to pay for those separately. If your insurance doesn't cover elective procedures, you may want to consult a pharmacist for discounts on the prescriptions; I ended up paying about $130 for all three prescriptions together. I highly recommend this clinic for your vision procedure. read more

Had glasses from first grade to my current age of 28. This was the best thing I've ever done and love waking up each morning being able to see! Customer service was great and were quick in getting me scheduled (one week between the open house and my surgery). The QualSight LASIK procedure that I underwent took only twenty minutes total for both eyes. By the next morning (about 12 hours later), I could see clearly and was able to drive. So happy to have gotten this elective surgery and cannot recommend it enough to my friends and family. read more

I went in to purchase eyeglasses after i was told that i was not a suitable candidate for Lasik surgery since I work in front of a computer 8 hrs a day. Jeff in the Optical Department helped with my eyeglass order, and sold me the Chemistrie sunglasses without mentioning that there would be two magnets on my regular glasses. When I picked the glasses up two weeks later, I was very upset. Gordy explained that if I tried hard enough, I would see my nose, which I found to be an appeasing analogy. He said to give the glasses a couple weeks to get used to which I've done, and if I'm still not happy then he'll make a pair of regular glasses w/out the magnets. He failed to say if I'd be on the hook for another 700.00 minus the sunglass part. I still hate them, and the magnets are not in my blind spot. I see them when I'm driving and working. Had i been told by Jeff that these magnets would be on the glasses, I never would have agreed to have the option of sunglasses. The glasses are beautiful minus these stupid magnets. I called yesterday and spoke with Jeff, and besides saying sorry, he offered no remedy. So, I will tell everyone and anyone that asks me what these weird dots are on my glasses about the horrible experience and tell them never to get Chemistrie glasses and stay away from Fichte Endl. read more

Had a mono vision procedure and after 6 weeks , i was not happy with vision. I was near sighted before surgery and now I can tead up close. Explained to the doc who seemed offended and aggravated . Had 2nd procedure..sucks. read more

First time patient. I am satisfied with my exam but disappointed with overall experience. 1. Not enough techs to accommodate the number of patients that are getting fitted for glasses/picking them up. I was there over 2 hours just working on getting my script correct. I still left unsure if it was going to be correct or not. NO BUENO! 2. Gordy seems to busy socializing instead of properly taking care of patients. A women came in to pick up her new glasses. He asked her to put them on. Instead of sitting with her and TAKING THE TIME to adjust her glasses, he stood the whole while and told her to turn her head from side to side. He then told her to come back if they need adjusting. How about you sit and take the time to adjust them so she doesn't have to come back? 3. I was referred to them by my primary physician to check out a problem concerning my eye. The referral from my physician stated what was to be checked on (a growth on my eyelid),. On the first visit they started to give me an eye exam, when I stated that wasn't what I was there for she said "It's just routine" , then I was told to wait in the back waiting room, was there for over an hour. When they finally saw me I was referred to a Doctor in Buffalo (I went to him and he removed the growth) I was told they were unable to remove it because they weren't setup at that time to perform the procedure. Well a year later, the growth starting growing again, I went back to Fichte. By that time I thought they would be setup to perform the procedure. Again they started to give me a standard eye exam and I stated I was not there to be tested for eye glasses. Was ushered to the back waiting room and waited over an hour and a half to be seen by someone. Finally when he came into the room he started to give me an eye exam, I again stated I was not there for eyeglasses and told him why I was there, he gave me a sarcastic look and told me to call the doctor in Buffalo if I was having a problem and walked out of the room. While I'm sure some people have had a positive experience with Fichte, Endl, and Elmer Eyecare, my interaction with has been awful. It started in June of 2015, when I had Lasik on both eyes in preparation for my wedding by Dr. Endl. Following my procedure, I had significant issues with my right eye. I had visit after visit, prescription after prescription, and more drops. That's always their solution - more drops. Nothing worked. I was forced to undergo the very uncomfortable PRK on my right eye. I'm not sure what grade sandpaper they used, but it took months to heal, and countless follow-up appointments. The surgery didn't work. More visits, more drops. They then had me do a second PRK, my third procedure overall, to try to rectify the situation. More pain, more visits, more drops, no answers. I was forced to wear sunglasses at work for months because of the sensitivity. Throughout all of this, they shuffled me to a different doctor every time I went in. My eyes still aren't right. If you are considering Lasik, I would absolutely suggest going somewhere else. In addition to their inability to diagnose and fix my eyes, they are incredibly insensitive to people's time. My last appointment, I scheduled a 7:30am visit to purposely get in early. At 8:45, I finally had Endl come in. I told him I didn't appreciate having to wait 1:15 to see him. He was rude, ignorant, and belligerent, and he was offended that I actually had the audacity to speak up about his lack of respect for my time. He then proceeded to bill me $79 for an office visit, even though my visit was another one of the multitude of appointments I was forced to endure because of his incompetence. Do yourself a favor - go somewhere else. Find a doctor that is not only competent, but courteous, professional, and considerate. read more
