Lindsey at the front desk has been so nice. My first appointment over a year ago, I showed up the wrong day and she very quickly was able to fit me in with very little wait, that's unheard of. She has printed out paperwork for me today and did so with such kindness, I wish everyone could be more like her when dealing with people. Nancy Coa is amazing too, although she did tell me I was old at my first appointment,( I needed readers). And my doctor, Mary Ellen Loughrey is the absolute best!!! She always listens and has taught me more about my eyes than I ever knew about. I can't say enough good about these women!! This office is wonderful. I had to go to Buffalo Eye Care to see an Ophthalmologist…read more When I called to try to make an appointment asap, they were able to accommodate me even though they said the Doctor was booked solid. I spoke with a receptionist at 11:30 am & had to be there by 1:00pm . I got there a little early . They have a nice big parking lot, so that was a plus. Inside is very spacious. They have two doors, one to go into the ophthalmology department, and one to go into the eye care store, where you buy your glasses. They have really cool lighting inside, and the whole office plus store just looks really nice. There were three receptionist working, which was very handy because someone else was there before me being taken care of already, so I got to get taken care of right away as well. I got called into the back in just a few minutes, took an eye test told the nurse or technician the problems that I was having with my eye, and thankfully, it's nothing she hasn't heard before. That was a big relief. Then I had to go see the ophthalmologist. It was a short wait. He was very nice, very talkative, explained everything I needed to know. Give me an eye exam, a real exam with the lights in the eyes and the machine and all that stuff. And was able to diagnose what was wrong with my eye. He told me what was going to happen eventually, what was happening now, and what I would have to do in the near future. Explain things very well and in easy terms, that anybody can understand, thank God. Lol. Everybody was so nice there. I had to deal with two receptionists, one nurse/technician and the ophthalmologist, and they were all so friendly and so nice. The whole place inside is very clean and decorated nicely. They seem to have a large variety of glasses, way more than a place that I go to now has. I have to go back in a month, and I do not regret having to go back because it was a good experience. I would definitely refer anybody I know to come here for your Eye Care needs.

They don't have automatic doors or a handicap button which makes getting a wheelchair in and out of two sets of double doors, extremely difficult, and no one has ever offered to help but will just sit and watch us struggle. Dr. Gulati says all the right stuff like hello and have a nice day but his delivery and flat and unbothered. The place inside is clean and quiet. Got my husbands contacts in December and the entire prescription was wrong. They told us they were going to call insurance and blamed them. We called insurance, they never called, and they ordered the wrong prescription. They refuse to got thru the insurance to resolve this, when all they need to do is fill out a form that was faxed to them. My glasses are definitely wrong as well, but I will go elsewhere to get them fixed. When we stopped in to try to get this resolved all they did was yell at us and tell our insurance company off, whom we had on the phone. Here it is mid January and still no proper contact. After…read morestruggling for too many months with poorly cut lenses, I visited Brighton on the recommendation of friends. Now I wish I had been coming here from the start! The minute I spoke to Sam about my dissatisfaction with my current lenses, he sat me down and measured both my eyes and lenses. He determined that the lenses were made incorrectly, set wider than they should have been by more than 3mm. That's the reason I was continuoutlay adjusting the placement of my glasses and turning my head when reading computer screens or fine print. Further, he described exactly how progressive lenses were designed, and how they could give me the maximum field of close-up vision vs distance that I needed. Finally, he helped me to understand how frame shape and nose piece can offer the most comfort. No one had ever taking the time and explained so well all the factors that contribute to well made lenses and good-fitting frames. I'm writing this with my new glasses -- which are more comfortable and clear than any of the previous eight frames that I've worn. And it certainly helps that Brighton takes my insurance, allowing me to get $800 lenses for $50.

I got 2 days a week worth of effort. He made me feel like he wanted me out of there as quickly as possible. Didn't want to dilate me when all docs want to based on family history. Told me in the most brusque way possible about the practice sale, his 2 days a week status, and that I can expect my eyes to get worse as I approach my 40's. At the end of the appointment, I took my prescription to go and found a small local practice where the doctor actually cares. Wouldn't recommend, which is disappointing from a place I formerly trusted.

I was unaware of some of the visual tests he had performed were even available for her. He was polite, honest and soft spoken. He spoke to her, not at her. When she had to speak to the optician, Greg was stellar in his line of work with prisms as well as his mannerisms. Talk about knowing his stuff!!!! From the moment we walked in the door and greeted I had noticed a friendly and clean atmosphere. The wait time was minimal and the time spent on my friend was unmatched by any business I've ever visited. I wish I had known about him years ago. I'm adding my own extra star.

Mom has macular degeneration. Dr. Calhoun had nothing to offer. But what really prompted me to write this review is his total lack of class and empathy for the patient. The poor guy really didn't have much personality and wasn't really a nice guy. But, whatever if he can help. Yes, mom has trouble with her vision and that's why we were in his office. I asked if he felt her vision was going to get worse. Right in front of mom he shrugs his shoulders and says "She can't see anything anyway." Real class "doctor" to say something so crude in front of a lady in her 90s. I hate to contradict his statement, but I took her to a real low vision specialist. This gentleman told me that her retina still has good spots and that the brain looks for them. Well, Dr. Calhoun must have missed that class. So, if your mom needs a low visin specialist, take this guy off your list. He's rude and another doctor proved he really isn't all that good. If you have to go here, see Dr Schwach. I had to see him for a problem I was having & he got me in the same day. He explained everything, was a great guy and very good at helping out and putting me at ease. I would seriously recommend you stay away from Dr. Calhoun. He didn't seem to be that knowledgable and absolutely has no class. He should know better. Also, the office/front desk ladies aren't the most pleasant!!

I would give anything to have cancelled that appointment. He went to his desk and mumbled the saying "you can lead a horse to water... ". Then he told me to sit at the machine they use to look at your eyes and he poked in my eyes. Next he said he had implanted plugs in my tear ducts. Without telling me ahead of time, nor discussing the choice of plug materials (nor possible side effects, nor the purpose, nor alternatives, nor anything else). I always extensively research any medical choices ahead of making decisions. I had him take them out before I left. However the look of the area under my eyes was ruined, seemingly permanently, and at my emergency return appointment the other provider I was scheduled with said they couldn't see anything wrong. The practice denies that the insertion of those silicon plugs could cause the side effect and offered no remedies to repair the damage. Overnight I was made to look older which affects my employability, not just any former attractiveness. The attitude of the office seems to be that the change is "all in my head", but I'm a portrait artist and very attentive to visual detail, as well as a former National Merit Finalist who gets their facts straight.
