We dealt with Ron Maxwell and I think he could not have done anything any better than he did during such a difficult time for all of us. I think some people have a gift for the career they are in, just a natural ability to do that job. I felt for him when I saw my siblings and I making decisions on what we all wanted. I thought about how hard that might be to navigate with family members who might not agree on things. Ron just handled everything like the professional he is. I would recommend them and especially Ron to anyone that needs them. I can't thank him enough for being exactly what we needed at that time.

There was no visitor sign in book, they had no calming music playing, in fact- it was dead silence other than people crying. not a person who worked there was in sight. There was absolutely nothing.. no prayer, no talking about ther person, no anything until about fifteen minutes after everyone got there one person who worked there came out, said people could go up and view the deceased and then head to their cars and meet at cemetery. which I have never NOT had a funeral procession for the deceased with flags on cars, lights on etc. but here, there was nothing. no respect at all. I would NOT recommend this place at, regardless of budget.

We had very specific instructions as to how our loved one wanted her service to occur - simple, short, no graveside service, not overly religious. It was our obligation to honor her request and not once did Terry make us feel odd when we declined certain services most would think are fairly standard or when we asked for background music that some might think was inappropriate (Bluegrass). He allowed the family plenty of time to peruse the caskets and choose what we thought she would have liked and he was always available to help without being overbearing or overly present in the room as we made decisions. The funeral home also handled the service. It was as she would have wanted - family and friends gathering to remember without lingering too long - a simple, sweet last gathering before she was taken to her final resting place. A huge thank you to Heyl Funeral Home for honoring and respecting the last wishes of our loved one and the wishes of her family.

REALLY AWFUL customer service at this funeral home. They didn't get the very simple service format…read moreright even though we laid it out for them in person days before. The funeral director insisted that we all drive our own route to the National Cemetery in Seville. After the service the VERY HOSTILE funeral director actually pulled the hearse back into the funeral home parking lot and demanded that no cars follow the hearse to the cemetery and very ANGRILY stated that Ohio state law prohibits a funeral procession, as if he actually controls what cars are behind him on publicly owned roadways. I can only assume that the procession must be a paid service through the funeral home, I wasn't involved in those arrangements, BUT the funeral director does NOT police the publicly owned roadways in Ohio. The funeral director was also completely uniformed on the National Cemetery service protocol and, again VERY ANGRILY, actually told us that he's "in charge of the service at the cemetery and there will be no time for the family to reads poems or perform an acoustic song", even though I cleared that with National Cemetery officials days before, when in reality his self perceived "power" ended once the casket came out of the hearse, as he soon found out. He also told us the National Cemetery prohibits flower spray placement on grave after burial. But lo and behold, there were flower sprays on fresh graves. Our family handled all of the HORRIBLE treatment by this funeral director with humility and dignity. We're bewildered by his ANGRY, HOSTILE behavior. Overall experience by our GRIEVING FAMILY with this business: ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. We won't be doing business with them again.

Sam and Kim went out of their way to accommodate our family and our changing needs. Service and the decor was wonderful. Thus, it was a sad day to visit this funeral home on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 in Medina for a memorial but the staff here were very professional on the day I visited. Everything was set up well for the memorial. I didn't realize that I would be viewing an open casket so I definitely cried alot upon seeing my friend's body but I'm happy that he knew God.
