When we ask about which location the service would be, we were told it was a private service and he couldn't divulge that information. What a moron- I knew it was a private service and I wasn't going to crash it as I live 18 hours away. However, the florists need to know where the flowers are to go and without him telling me which, it has turned into a debacle. The flowers did NOT arrive at the funeral. The 1-800 flower agency said the funeral home wouldn't receive the flowers. The funeral home said the florist didn't have the flowers we'd ordered. And after all the bologna, no one (not e 1-800 service, not the funeral jome, not the local florist) has called to let us know that the ball has been dropped. Why in the world the fella at the funeral home wouldn't even let us know what location the funeral would take place is beyond me. He needs to be educated or terminated so this kind of crap doesn't happen again. If someone at this funeral home would like to contact me, my phone number is 256 5774037. My mother's rapidly failing health did give us time to work with Roberts to co-ordinate transfer of her body to Wadsworth from my sister's home in another city, anticipate the church service with a reception at the church afterwards and for the family to write the obituary they wanted published. We were assured that all was in place weeks before my mother's death. BUT --- when the time came --- there was confusion in transporting the body, the church was unaware of the need for a funeral mass, no reception could be organized and the obituary was NOT the one the family had written with much thought and consideration, rather was it was as much fiction as fact --- making errors in her place of birth, names of children and how the grandchildren were to be acknowledged. To top off the disarray --- the website referenced in the published obituary was unable to accept condolencences or messages to the family should anyone try. There was such discrepancy from the organization we had been lead to expect with such advance notice and the lack thereof at such a stressful moment, it is not possible to recommend their services. Hillcrest Memorial Gardens is a beautiful resting site, but use another funeral home.

Cue my search for someone to install a backwater valve in my drainage line to make sure that doesn't happen again. Most contractors I called either seemed uninterested in trying to work around my (admittedly horrible) schedule or promised to come out and never arrived to give me an estimate. Then I found Modern Process Plumbing. Unlike most people I've dealt with regarding home repair or construction in the past, they gave me a very specific time they'd be out for the estimate and arrived exactly when they said they'd be here. They had the estimate ready for me a couple of days later. Their work proposal was as good as or better than any of the others I received and the price was lower. Better yet, they were willing to come out and do the work on Saturday so that I wouldn't have to take a day off of work (which would make the job far more expensive for me.) They arrived to start the work around 10:30 or so and were finished installing the valve, repairing the concrete, and cleaning everything up in the basement about five hours later. They took extra care to make as little mess as possible and were still apologetic about not thinking they'd cleaned up enough when they were done even though I can't see much of a mess at all down there. I will definitely be keeping these guys in mind for any plumbing work I have in the future.

He was a dark complected caucasian from working outside most of his life. Also, he always wore a pencil mustache his entire life. Schermesser was given a recent photograph and father's favorite suite. Private family viewing for a few hours one day and general viewing for a longer time the next were the arrangements. We were shocked to find father with a bright pink complexion(picture a lady's powder blush compact) of a new born babe and clean shaven for the 1st time in his adult life. As shocking as that was, on the day of general viewing, before transportation to the cemetery we had to pick several beetles off dad's body and were plagued with flies swarming around the casket for the entire viewing. When we complained we were told insects come in with the flowers and there is nothing that can be done about them. I'm getting old, but I have never seen Pepto Bismo Pink used for make-up, and bugs never joined in the ceremonies.

Adam Mason Funeral home did not do that. Scott Mason is the person that took care of the whole funeral was wonderful. I was able to text him at nearly midnight when I thought of a question. He answered immediately with a response. The correct response. The preparation of my loved one was also outstanding. He looked like he was sleeping, cleaned up perfectly and so at peace. A memory that will stay with me forever, not the one at the hospital. They also worked with us wanting to bring my loved ones pet. No problem. We were also allowed to leave some notes in the casket with him, an issue that other funeral homes had. I have to say there is nothing negative at all about this funeral home, it's staff, or location. Go with a funeral home that is local, doesn't have corporate offices, those are the ones where you become a number. Again, I will highly recommend this funeral home to anyone who is in need because you're treated like family.
