So many people recommended this place to buy clubs. Was on my way Southern Oregon for a charity golf event. Saved up some money to buy shoes, drivers, iron set, bag. Was so excited. Took some clubs out to demo area. Decided on clubs. Pick out shoes and bag inside. I ask my helper can I get any type of deal if a buy all right now. Was told big NO. Not politely. Just NO . Keep in mind this was a big purchase. So I asked this question. I picked up a sleeve of balls. " I will buy all right now if you throw in this sleeve of balls" My helper whom seemed upset for me to ask for a tiny discount for spending close to 2k came back and said NO. I WALKED OUT, slowly. Ive had a couple TaylorMade irons that have snapped off at the head and they were warrantied through TM and Fidds sent it away to TM then returned fixed for free. But then the next one I broke Fiddlers charged me for attaching them back on just trying to make money. Today....reason why I'm writing this is b/c I broke my driver at the head and they said they can't repair it that they'd have to order me new shaft. I said take 1/2" off and add new tip and they said they couldn't B/c it was too mangled. They are ONLY about making money. F*ck Fidds they know they're the only place in town. read more

I have spent almost $5000 here in the last two years. I have an 8 year old son that I spend roughly $40 a week at the range. Went to hit some balls with him this morning and he wanted to play. I've been carrying for him on courses to get him dialed for two years around the area. after my son Teed off, they told me that I could not go on the golf course unless I was playing. How are we supposed to teach the youth in this country how to play golf if you can't caddy for an eight year old boy at a piece of crap par three course? Trust me, I won't be back! Super knowledgeable staff, giving great info. Loved it. Don't be intimidated! As we've been at perhaps too-big or too-busy shops where one gets the sense -- you should know what you want, get it already. These folks are friendly, genuine and follow the 'covid' guidelines AND THEN SOME!! Hand sanitizer at the front door with gentle urging to make use of it... signage around and about instruct how one is to try on a hat (or not) and shoes as well. Stopped by Fiddler's Green to get fitted for some new clubs - i have never had my own set of clubs (other than hand-me-downs) and I wanted to get some professional advice. I also wanted to stay under budget. Driving range is fun. It's fun to golf there sometimes. The pro shop is amazing. And the prices are reasonable.

Having played at FG over the years I am fully aware of their archaic redneck Oregon rules along with the grumpy course official who has to admonish every group that plays through. I don't get many opportunities to golf with my work schedule, but I try to make it out a few times every year and it is usually to Fiddler's Green. It is a small par-3 only course that is almost exclusively straight greens. The longest hole is just over 200 yards and the shortest hole is around 80, so I spend the majority of my time with a 7-iron and wedges when I play. Fiddler's Green has a lot of driving range spots, but most are teed up very high. I don't hit from a tee placement that high, but I make it work. There is a chipping spot and a putting area. The putting area has more elevation than most of the greens (the greens are almost all flat, despite what turns and twists you envision the ball may take). There is a food area inside where you pay for your rounds that has basic sandwiches and drinks, but it is a nice amenity to not have to leave the course to grab something to eat. Fiddler's has a huge shop of golf supplies and clothing. I have only been in it a few times, but it is pretty packed with everything you would need. I tend to feel that they are a bit on the expensive side, but at least you have everything in one spot to look at. Overall, Fiddler's Green is a great place. The course is not going to challenge you (unless you are terrible at golf like me and mini-putt courses seem challenging). You'll be able to practice if you want to, the prices for rounds and driving range balls is reasonable (about $10/round and $1.50 or $2.00 per driving token), you can grab a quick bite to eat, and you can shop for golfing items all at one place. It is a good beginner's golf course, but if you are looking for something tougher or longer you will need to look elsewhere. read more

I have been coming to Fiddler's for a solid 15 years now, as I started playing golf in high school. So I've spent a fair amount of time and money here. Obviously, they can't be doing badly if I keep returning. I actually hadn't been here in a while, given it's been a couple years since I've picked up a golf club. My clubs were bought here, a set of Silver Diamonds which is made by Fiddler's when I was 15 years old, and they still work beautifully today. I've been in a couple times in the last couple of weeks with my buddy, Matt. I've recently started golfing with him, and it feels wonderful to return to a sport I love so much. Coming in to Fiddler's to check out new items and replace old equipment is like coming home. It's an odd feeling to describe, but I simply love coming in here. Yesterday we went in because Matt wanted to buy a new putter and I needed a new set of gloves. When we were looking at putters for Matt, an employee named Jason came over to help us. My first impression of him was less than stellar, but first impressions aren't always correct. I'm thrilled to say he proved me completely wrong and gave THE best customer service I think I've ever received here. I was very impressed when it was done. Matt found the putter he officially wanted (we'd been looking at them a couple different times recently, so it was fairly easy to find yesterday) except it was for a left-handed player. Jason came over and asked us if we needed anything. Matt told him about the problem. Jason initially didn't appear like he was going to be very helpful. Almost like in a Wal-Mart employee kind of way, saying it would be in a certain spot IF they had it, while vaguely pointing. He finally said he would go check for sure. Now, he was pretty quick in producing the putter Matt wanted. I'm talking, just a couple minutes. Double checked if anything needed to be adjusted, size, grips, etc. This took it from the original estimate of two stars on customer service to a solid 4. Where it goes to 5 is when he started taking Matt's info for the warranty. He asked for his last name, and then first name. I told Jason instead of Matt, he needed to put Cupcake, which is my nickname for him. Jason stops and says he can totally do that. Most of the time when I try and get people to put Cupcake, they giggle, but totally refuse. Well, I love anyone who rolls with the Cupcake thing! I told Jason I totally wanted him to do it, but Matt wasn't so excited about it. Imagine that. As Jason is taking all of Matt's info, he asked if he was buying it for any kind of special occasion, tournament, birthday, special treat, etc. Nope, he just needed a new putter. So in the note section/description, Jason put "Ping Putter for Cupcake" and I knew I liked him! So, me being me, had to take a pic of the screen and send it to everyone Matt and I know. Next, I needed gloves. I'm a weird person in that I use two gloves, not just one. No idea why, but it's how I've always played. Jason asked me about this, and we went to the glove section. I tried to find some the last time, but without my glasses and having any real idea what I needed to be looking for, I get impatient and give up. This would be where Jason comes in because it's one of those things I want a salesperson to find for me, or I'm simply not buying. I rarely take the attitude of, if you're not finding it for me, I'm not buying it, but this is one of those I did. I have short fingers, so we find a small size, but it wont fit around my hand completely. Bigger size fits the hand, but fingers too long. Color is wrong as well. I absolutely despise white gloves and wanted black instead. So we are going through all of this as we go. This works, this doesn't, and we just keep going through options until we find the right one. Way, way easier than me trying to find them on my own. Perfect! We found the perfect set, and off we went. Jason didn't try to up-sell or explain anything, just took everything I told him and worked with it as we went. I love that. After this, I went to wander a bit in the store with Matt and finish shopping. All in all, this is by far THE most memorable trip I've had in at Fiddler's. Jason surprised me with his high level of customer service and attention to detail, as well as his sense of humor. He made this trip wonderful. When I return in the future, I will likely be seeking him out specifically to help me with what I need. He was simply that great. I love it when you find the one person who can work with you (I feel I'm obnoxious at times), and makes it fun, no-pressure sales, and relaxing. There's something to be said for that. I also love the fact Jason took what I initially thought was a less than stellar first impression and turned it completely around! By far one of the most product per square inch golf pro shop I think I have ever been in. However with that comes a huge selection, and for someone like me over 6'5" you also have clothes to find as well. The executive course is great, and can be done in an hour as long as it's not too busy. Driving range is adequate although on the smaller side. Other than the occasional plane (located in the Eugene Airport flight path) it fits the bill. read more

Very attentive staff that made sure you were taken care of. My husband tried out some wedges and staff were very attentive and answered all his questions. The rental clubs was not a full set, just a random assortment of different clubs. The course was great and made up for it. I played all 18 holes. My husband and I were in the store around one on Sunday. We have been counting on Fiddler's for various golfing items for over forty years. But after today, no. There are signs about masking and it is clear they don't support it. But it is required. However two different male customers in the store were not wearing their masks appropriately. These people interacted with the employees but no one made them pull their masks up. I felt very threatened even though I am fully vaccinated. I was disappointed in the behavior of these customers and the staff. You don't have to agree but if you want to shop anywhere, wear your mask and don't potentially harm someone else or their family. It is the obligation of the business to ensure safety for all of the customers. read more

The course is OK, nice quiet place. However, management is absolutely unreasonable. Golfing with a few friends we were a group of five (we were teaching our kids how to golf). We specifically went in the middle of the day during the heat so that we wouldn't be holding anyone up, thought it was a very respectful thing to do. They refused to let us golf together even though there was no one else golfing. When we finally realized there was nobody else behind us we joined up and were having a great time, they saw that we were golfing in a group of five and asked us to leave. I understand there are rules but this was a ridiculous application of the rule. read more

Fiddlers Green has every piece of golfing equipment you could want. Not only do they have, but it will be priced lower than any other golf retailer. Believe me, I have priced checked from Washington to California and Fiddlers can't be beat. Another great part of Fiddlers is being about to try out any club you are considering. We drive from SF Bay Area to Portland about once a year. We usually break the trip up by staying and playing a round of golf in the Medford area and continue onto Portland with an intermediate stop at Fiddler's Green, Eugene. Why? Because it is a huge place with exceptional inventory and a very knowledgeable and professional staff with outstanding customer service. My wife loves the huge assortment of ladies golf clothing and accessories. For me, this is one of the biggest selection of clubs, bags, rangefinders, shoes and all the other little things that make up a superb golf shop. And, they have an integrated, covered, driving range where you can try out any club of your choice. They, gladly, tape up the face and hand you a mini-bucket of balls and you can take your time to experiment with it. The staff is very helpful in club selection and proper fit and will not try to oversell you. But let me tell you why I love this place. I asked about the new Bushnell Hybrid Laser GPS Rangefinder, $499.95 list price. Nick Sherman took their demo unit out of the display case and I was able to "play with it" out on the driving range. I was impressed by its ease of locking onto the flag and the clearity of the optics. The GPS part worked just like their standard Neo GPS that I am familiar with. Their price was $469. I bought it. We came home a week later and a letter arrived in the mail. It was from Fiddler's Green. Nick had discovered a $100 rebate several days after we left the shop. HE HAD THE PRESENCE OF MIND AND THE CONSIDERATION to send me the rebate form and a duplicate copy of my transaction receipt! All I had to do was fill out the form and clip out the UPC code from the box and send it in to Bushnell. NICK SAVE ME $100! They keep a Warranty File with customer names/address for clubs, instruments and other items with warranties. He took the time and effort to look me up do that for me! Now that's what I call superior customer service and the ultimate in pursuing customer satisfaction. I really commend Fiddler's Green for creating the kind of environment that fosters this kind of service to the public! Fiddler's Green is pretty much the one stop shop for all things golf in Oregon. You can play a round on their par 3 course. I always took beginners here, it's excellent for people just starting out. Not too hard or intimidating at all and it's pretty inexpensive! The range is nice. It's really just a basic matted range. The balls are pretty good here, not gnarled at all. Attached to this is their teaching center. They even have a snack shop where you can get something to eat. The crown jewel of Fiddler's Green is their Pro Shop. It is one of the largest in Oregon. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about all their products. You can test hit any of the clubs on their range, just ask and they'll tape you up and give you a mini-basket to test the club out. They have a large selection and will special order anything you want. One of the best things is that they stay very competitive with all other businesses by matching or beating all other prices in the whole state! Parking is plentiful. It is a ways out there past the airport on 99 from downtown Eugene or the University. I guess that would be the only negative about it. read more

Although the selection is good and the staff courteous be aware that if you special order anything make sure they check on the shipping time. I had a game scheduled with my son and asked about the shipping time to ensure the clubs would arrive in plenty of time. I was assured that this would not be a problem. When I called to find out if they were still on schedule for delivery I was told they would not be delivered in time for the game. I spoke with the manager and explained my dilemma, and he called and had the order expedited to where I was in California. My husband likes golfing here but the downside is that they don't allow non-golfers to walk with players which causes issues. The staff assumed because I was pregnant that I would not be playing golf with him, and thus I was told that I could not go with him when we walked up to pay. We corrected them and paid for a round for both of us, but I was offended and felt discriminated against for being pregnant. read more
