It felt like the epitome of an average hotel at the Holiday Inn Express level. It wasn't super fancy or nice or new or fresh, and the person at the front desk wasn't that friendly, but it was fine. The room was clean; the beds were comfy; the front-desk person was efficient and thorough. The parking lot didn't feel sketchy, but since this particular visit, I have learned that almost all hotel parking lots are sketchy. As in don't leave anything in your car--not that I would ever do that. I live in San Francisco! We checked in late at night, slept, and checked out in the morning on our way to Corvallis; so we never really saw the place during the day.

I wanted to look at the building inside first (of course) and was told that they had quilters there that day so it be open to go take a tour. I get there and no one is there. So I try calling Cora ( women in charge of rentals) and no answer. So after going back home I later hear back and arrange again for someone to show me the building. We get there and no one is there again. We wait 15-20 minutes and nothing again. So we call again and this time she answers. The guys that was suppose to show us the building forgot and would be there shortly. So we finally see the place and go ahead with the plans so rent it ( I had already paid at this point to assure I had the date booked) The time comes for my event and we try for several days to set up a time to pick up the keys. Finally get them and then we go to set up the day before the party and the place is dirty. Bathrooms are dirty and have Feces on the toilet's ect. The kitchen is dirty, chairs are covered in cobwebs. Upstairs is dirty too. We end up cleaning the place before we use it. Then again after my event. So now we wait to hear back about the deposit. 3 weeks pass and I figure that is long enough and give Cora a call. She informs me that no one has checked the building but they have Bingo that weekend so someone would get to it before that. Another week passes and no refund, so we call again. She says it will be in the mail in a couple days. Another week passes and nothing. We call again. She has been sick but will get it in the mail that day... Another week and nothing. So at this point its 5 weeks since my event. So needless to say I'm upset about it. I leave a review on their facebook page and get a response right away that someone will contact me in a few days. That was a Friday then on Wednesday I finally get my check back 6 weeks later. And a note that says. They hadn't given it back because they where undecided on if they where going to return it. * When we where out there a week later to check things over, you are very luck the place didn't catch on fire. You left the coffee pot on and a small fan attached to the window. * Ok... 3 weeks later she had said no one checked it yet but someone checked it a week later and we left a coffee pot on? We have 4 people that can confirm the pot was off and we didn't even have a fan.. And every time we called she said the deposit would be sent back soon. ect and even if her accusations where true, you can't keep a deposit based on something that (could) of happened. So it's more like she was keeping my deposit for whatever reason and since I contacted the facebook page ( which I believe is ran by the grange president) she tried to put the blame on me,. Nice try. I'm letting everyone know about this. The deposit is $150.00 and these people have no right to keep it.

Wonderful snuggle fest @ Iron Water Ranch in Albany, OR. -Lambentine Event- !!…read more We had an amazing time at this local Ranch as first time visitors! We signed up for their two day event online which consisted of hourly time slots to snuggle and bottle feed sweet baby lambs. We checked in during our designated time, received custom stickers, and given basic written instructions on how to hold and feed lambs. We then entered their big barn, where we were already assigned to Shepherd Brendan, who told us to pick an enclosed hay spot. He then retrieved a sweet lamb, dressed in a cute little shirt, who was ready to drink some warm milk, and be held by yours truly! The first baby girl, Widow, was the sweetest. She loved to be held and I bottle fed and snuggled with her forever. I asked Brendan if we could meet another lamb, and he then retrieved Jean, who was only a couple weeks old, if that! She was just as sweet, but a little bit more timid. They also had professionals onsite, spinning wool into yarn, products for sale, and staff on hand to answer any and all questions. We enjoyed our time here and plan on coming back for future events!! March MAAAdness is coming up!

So we went as a family. Now let me tell you this is SO much fun. Expect to get SOAKING wet with paint. I'd 100% suggest keeping your hair NOT painted as it makes for a HUGE mess. But definitely get the car seats covered so you don't transfer paint. I'd also suggest if it's cold outside, or quite honesty simply for COMFORT, to bring a change of clothes. And go change at Starbucks or something after. We were ALL super cold on the ride home. I think that you definitely don't need as much time as you're allotted as you run out of paint FAST. And we used every last drop!!! It was an EPIC family fun afternoon. I DO think it absolutely stinks that you can't change there...they should get a changing area or figure something out because hello everyone is WET!! Other than that, 5 stars for fun. Less one for the inconvenience of not being able to change THERE.
