The prices are better than most (you get a free lesson just to try them out) and the customer service is impressive. We were going to another shop for the first few months of the school year and that was turning into a disaster as the teacher was inconsistent and had difficulty showing up for our pre-arranged time slot (he was coming in from "the city" to Deerfield and always had an excuse due to train problems) This made me search out a new place and I found Anderson Musik almost by accident. It's an extra few minutes drive to get there, but worth it in my opinion. Our current instructor, James, is fantastic! We love him! He is great with my son. He gives him a lot of encouragement, challenges him with new assignments and has the patience of a saint from what I can tell. Very Zen. Plus, he is ALWAYS ON TIME!! (he even spends extra time with my son if he has a cancellation after our time or we get there early, which is fantastic) As for the shop, the owner (I think) Elsa is fabulous. Very friendly and chatty, she makes sure that there is always fresh coffee brewing and some type of baked good to keep the siblings happy along with lots of magazines and coloring supplies to make the waiting time fly by. It is clean and friendly. I love this shop so much that I am going to send our other son there for trumpet instruction this coming school year, as well as rent his instrument from Anderson Musik (say goodbye to that other Deerfield shop!) A great choice for music instruction!!

I started to play guitar around two years ago, and from then I have improved very much. The owner,…read moreScott, is a very nice man who will always make sure that there is time for you to play, and he will work with your schedule . There is a variety of instruments that you can play here too! All the teachers are great; another really nice teacher is Jeremy. Be sure to come here for your lessons!

Just want to take a moment to share my praise for Bach To Rock Northbrook. Both of my children are…read morein private and public classes here. The teachers make learning music fun! Their enthusiasm has even inspired my 6 year old son to take classes that he would never have imagined (a beginning DJ class). You are in good hands here.

We had booked the party 2 months in advance and picked the song off the list they provided. We were told that the song would be on the tv screen so the kids could read it. Instead when we arrived the song was printed on a piece of paper for the kids to hold. We were very disappointed and underwhelmed by the experience from start to finish. the administrative help were very friendly with booking the party and securing the date, We found the actual party to be disappointing. The woman who 'taught' the kids to learn the song was boring, disinterested and lacked the type of enthusiam that was needed to ensure the kids were excited to record. All she did was give out a piece of paper and had the kids practice over and over. She did not split them into groups, nor make it fun and kept looking at the clock to see 'when they could go to the studio.' She then kept saying to the group of 8 year olds 'are you nervous.' Instead of encouraging them and being enthusiastic. She was disorganized and when asked if the kids wanted to sing the song again had the majority of the kids say 'no,' even the adults were not wanting to sing again.she made little effort to break up the song, make it more interesting. it was an overall disappointing experience for my daughter. If you do a party there, make sure you find out who will lead it.The facility is nice and clean.. the employees will do minimal extra for you. You will take the lead on setting up the room and will need to ask for them to get out tables for the party. I had higher hopes. It is a nice facility and for the price of the party it was just okay. We have had much better parties.

Yes, there is VIP experience and parking available, but the typical experience is anything but easy. On my last visit, we stayed in a nearby hotel and took a shared ride in. The challenge? Getting out. Expect a half a mile walk to the Braeside station to get a shared ride back after the concert, unless you are up for leaving before the last 30 minutes of a show. There's plenty of staff here walking around and keeping things safe but some of the staff seem cranky and short when asking them questions. Some people are first-time attendees so maybe a little more patience is needed. To me, it's just common courtesy. One man at the North Gate was very rude. I do appreciate that the sound quality is great around the venue and the big screen on the lawn is nice.

What's unique about Ravinia is you can bring in your own drinks, food, blankets & chairs. Basically you can setup picnic style anywhere in the lawn. They also have a food court, beer venders and lawn chair/table rentals, so if you want to just show up, everything you'd want can be provided. As far as getting there, I'd recommend the Metra which is included with your ticket purchases. You can get off at Ravinia Park or Braeside. There is a parking lot, but you do have to get there early to get a spot. If the main lot is full, they have shuttle service from other local locations. Grab a crew, plan a picnic and enjoy live music under the stars!
