Overall I had a good experience with Fielding Tree and Shrub Care. I had Fielding remove a dead pine tree in my yard and trim up another tree. I thought their prices were reasonable, but not the cheapest. However everyone I talked to at the company seemed very knowlegable so I was willing to pay a little extra. My one complaint was that communicating with the company was a bit difficult. They were scheduled to come to my house first thing in the morning so I stayed home from work to meet them. They did not show up that morning and I was unable to get anyone at the office to answer my calls or return my messages and emails (I left 2 voice messages and sent 3 emails). Finally at 11:00 AM I decided to give up and I left for work. About 30 minutes after arriving at work I got a call from the crew who had just arrived at my house, pretty frustrating. After returning to my house they did a great job and the guys who came out were apologetic and very professional. They left my yard very clean and even picked up some additonal brush I had in the yard so that was very much appreciated. So overall a great company that I will likely use again; but communications from their office staff could definietly use some improvement. read more

I've worked with Fielding Tree for about 2 years. My original problem was a couple of very sad maple trees. By the following spring they were both green, healthy and beautiful. Since then I've asked them to trim a dozen or so trees and they did a beautiful job. This is the most incredibly disorganized business with whom I have dealt. Don't try to call, there is no one in the office...ever. You can schedule an estimate on their website, but that date will inevitably be changed, as will the date the work is done. Although they will not tell you why they didn't show up or when they will come. One day, I came home and the work was done. There was a bill, so I paid it. They called to say it wasn't paid, I left a message that it was. Two people called to say that it would be sent to a collection agency. I left an angry message with the check number and the day it appeared on my statement. I received a message from the owner stating he was very sorry, they held a office meeting and this would never happen again. The next day I received a new message asking again for the check. Wow. I called this company the week of April 17 to request a detailed quote for removal of a large, dead Cottonwood tree, small, dead Peach tree, and trim a Pine tree--all in my back yard. The woman who answered the phone was very professional and polite; she scheduled me for a quote that Friday. Meanwhile, I'd already called and obtained a detailed, written quote from another tree company and I obtained another quote the next day. I'd pretty much decided that the first company was the best one to go with, even though theirs wasn't the lowest bid. But, I always solicit at least 3 bids for any major work that I have done, so I held off booking with them until Friday. Friday, Gabe came out to my house and I led him through our side gate to the back yard where I showed him the dead Cottonwood tree. He just looked at it and asked me what the lowest bid I'd gotten on it was. When I told him, he shook his head and said that he couldn't go that low. His tone was fairly insulting and then he made derogatory remarks about the company that had made that quote. (The quote I gave him was for ALL the tree services I'd requested and not just the Cottonwood tree, but he thought it was for just the Cottonwood). He told me that he'd lose money if he tried to match the quote and that the other company probably didn't have full insurance coverage--but all the companies I requested bids from had full insurance. I quickly showed him out, so I could call the first company I'd received a quote from and book them. He later called me back to apologize. Nothing he'd said made me think that this company was any better than the others who'd given me quotes--quite the contrary. The other two were professional and detailed and polite. Fantastic job from start to finish. Nate came out for the initial estimate. I walked him through our general requests. He offered suggestions and took great care to provide the services asked for while also looking out for overall health of the trees. Scheduling was prompt and easy. The day of was very smooth. They walked through the work before starting and had me check it before leaving to make sure I was satisfied. The entire crew was professional friendly and took great care of our needs. I can't even begin to tell you how pleased I am with their service. I had four trees trimmed today and they did a fabulous job. All the men that were working here were very courteous and friendly. The yard was spotless when they left. There was no debris left at all. I had ornaments in the trees and instead of making us take them down they did it for us and put them back up! I had three trees trimmed and given house clearance and three trees with storm damage from recent winter storm. The employees at Fielding could not have been nicer or more professional. They were quick to respond to my calls or emails and on time the day of the trimming. There were no hidden charges and their work was top notch. The best! Fielding Tree & Shrub Care saved the day! My chainsaw-wielding husband got ahead of himself and thought he could take down a tree. He couldn't, but that didn't stop him from making the cut. I had to have my tree trimmed in my backyard. I had just purchased the house and the tree had not been attended to for many years, if ever. Not only does our PM schedule the work far enough ahead of time and always with our schedules in mind, but the crews are always on time, professional, and knowledgeable. This company is amazing. Gabe and his entire staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We had several trees become damaged after a heavy spring snow a couple of years ago, and spent a considerable amount of money trying to save most of them. One tree in particular they thought they could save, and tried to, but it was unfortunately beyond repair. Gabe came back out and worked with us on price to have it removed, since we already invested our time and money into trying to save it. He was extremely fair about the whole thing. The whole crew spent time telling us what our trees are (we have dozens!) and how to take care of them. Amber in the office is very polite, and helped us gather several invoices to try to deduct the fees from our taxes (Although it didn't work). She went above and beyond trying to help us figure out what we paid throughout the year, since we had several different appointments. I can't say enough good things about this company. Awesome. We had a very large choke cherry tree with storm damage and 3 very sad looking bushes that needed to be removed. The scheduling was so easy. They sent somebody out to evaluate the situation & give me an estimate ASAP. The guys that came out did a phenomenal job cleaning up our tree & making it pretty again. They did stump grinds on the bushes, cleaned up, and put everything back as it was. They also hauled off all the debris, so I had no clean up to worry about. They were polite, professional, and the price really can't be beat. I will definitely use them again! read more
