The beer is pretty good. They have some interesting choices. The service was not great. I know it's a new place but we waited for an hour until we asked about our food order. We were told they would check on it they came back 10 mins or so later and told us there was a glitch in their system. The pizza lunch specials finally made it to our table about an hour and 25 mins after we ordered. We felt as if we had been overlooked. The place wasn't too busy as it was a weekday afternoon. The server who we had was polite but still someone should have noticed us sitting there. I will say they gave us a little discount for our wait and two free desserts. Now on to the food. It wasn't great. The pizza was okay for the lunch special price. The sweet potatoes fries were excellent except for the fact they were cold. The two free desserts weren't very good. We got two cinnamon rolls. None of the people in our group liked them and we are pretty big cinnamon roll fans! We may have caught them on a bad day, if we ever go back I'll update the review. read more

We stopped in for lunch. The highlight was the American Ale. Nice kiss of hops. The pub ale was very bland. My wife said it tasted like soda water. The NE IPA was ok. Apparently they must purchase large amounts of preformed and cooked chicken. This is used in many recipes. The jerked pizza tasted like frozen pizza with bbq sauce. The hummus was very bland. Good new spot in Lawrence. I've been a few times now. And everything has been solid. The pizzas are good. Not the best ever, but so reasonably priced that I'll come back. My salad (the BLT) was really full of good fresh things. And we had the hummus appetizer- it was really good but needs some more and more diverse dipping items to go with it. I finally came when they had their own beer. I had a rose beer that was really lovely. And my companions liked theirs too. Have not been here for a while but was very impressed! Salebarn saison was excellent and had the LFK hot chicken sandwich. Damn tasty but a little on the pricey side. My buddy had a BLT full salad for 16.00! I am sorry but no salad should cost 16.00 w the only meat on there being bacon. Just my 2 cents. Will go back, but not often at these prices. read more

I just started coming to Fields & Ivy and I have to say this is the best pizza in Lawrence. I usually order to go and it still has the same consistency as if I dined in the restaurant. I get the 9" pepperoni pizza with caramelized onions and it's so filling and delicious. I accidentally spilled ranch on the floor as I was leaving with my pickup order. I was so embarrassed and asked for napkins to clean it up and the wait staff were so kind and helped me clean it up. Plus got me more ranch even though I didn't ask for an additional one since I dropped it. I definitely recommend! Good food, great staff! Also shout out to Brittney for being so kind! read more

On an impromptu date night, we had high hopes for our first time at F&I. I had read up about their homegrown hard seltzer and was looking forward to a locally made gluten free option. We loved the atmosphere, the heated patio, the sweet dogs. Unfortunately our server let the place down and affected our experience to a degree that we just won't come back. Paired with the fact that we were swarmed with cigarette smoke on the patio and served super-grease-laden fries, it just was not good. Really wanted to love this place and make it a regular hang, but that won't be the case for us. Hope the server was just having an off night and wish the best for them - we all need a break. But our much needed break here was a bummer. read more

Tell me there is a new brewery just down the street from me and I am there. Tell me it also serves great pizza? I am already on my way to try it out. We had family in town and we decided to take a big group here and try this place out for the first time. The inside is very simple and I was okay with it. This place is very bright with good natural light. I had two different beers, one being a nitro brewed lager and the other being the porter. I was not the biggest fan of the nitro brew but that was due to personal preference and not due to the beer. The porter, however, was absolutely fantastic. Our group decided to order a bunch of different pizzas and just share so we could try many different ones of them. I personally wanted to try the mega meatball pizza and ended up eating the entire thing. Note to the big eaters, it is not hard to eat a full pizza of their small size. The pizza was flavorful and had a lot of great toppings. All of their pizzas are thin crust Neapolitan style pizzas. I had a try of another pizza that had cream cheese dollops and some bacon and it was fantastic and flavorful as well. The service was spectacular. Being a large table I was worried our server would struggle but he was on top of it. I had a second beer in my hand before my first one was out, I found this to be impressive. This place does have a fantastic patio. Since we were there with family we were unable to make use of the patio but I would love to return and have a few beers and play some outdoor games. This spot is a must try and I will definitely be going back. read more

Flavorful brews, nice atmosphere, good salads and pizza tastes fine, BUT what they call Jerk Chicken...should be called Bar B Q sauce, bacon and pineapple pizza. IF it had any chicken on it, it was puréed. Serious -- could find no chicken on the Jerk Chicken pizza. Asked if we got the right pizza...yep that's it. Silly me -- expecting real chicken. read more

Passed through Lawrence on our drive to Illinois and stopped here for dinner and beer. The place is large and has a great patio. Kid-friendly, great beer selection and food was delicious. The food, service, and ambiance were all great. We sat outside and played Jenga, the cornhole, and they also had four square, chess/checkers, connect 4, and washers. We had chips, salsa verde, and corn salsa to start - all amazing. My Southwest chicken sandwich and my husband's pizza we're also really good. Their house chips we're crunchy and well spiced. Visited tonight on the invitation of longtime friends who recently relocated to Lawrence, and glad we did! As my wife and I have a weakness for gastropubs, we'd asked what was new in town...........our friends suggested Fields & Ivy. Modern, industrial feel (almost entirely hard, reflective materials) like many newer restaurants in repurposed older buildings but with one important difference than many..........it was NOT too loud to converse across/around our table despite the restaurant being full. We tried several of the beer options and all were excellent, from basic lagers and pilseners to stouts. The appetizers we chose (beer pretzels and ancho corn dip) were outstanding...........perhaps the best blue corn chips I've ever had. Entree menu was, as others have pointed out, limited to pizzas and a few sandwiches...........the pizzas were above average but not out of this world. As for dessert.....something we rarely order......we were about to pass until our server mentioned a caramel-bourbon ice cream sandwich which was not on the printed menu. That bad boy was nirvana. Will definitely return, perhaps earlier in the day/year while it is still light outside and the outdoors patio would be a better option. That said, definitely worth a repeat visit, and if they can add a few more options to the dinner menu they will go up that final star. read more

I would give this place like 3.5 stars. This place has recently opened and is a pretty cool atmosphere. It has a lot of space and some outdoor space with games. Which would be fun for a group or kids. It doesn't have their own beer yet, hearing around June 17th for that. So that was a little disappointing. They have typical bar food- pizza, wings, salad and sandwiches. I thought the pizza was good and well priced. But other than that I felt appetizers are a few $$ overpriced and the beer is at least 1$ too high. Overall pretty expensive for what you get. A few dollars cheaper and I might would visit more. Not bad overall though, our service was fine as well. read more

A friend wanted to take me out for lunch/dinner for my birthday on Saturday 1/4/2020(my birthday was the 2nd) and asked me where I would like to eat. I told him that I had been wanting to try Fields & Ivy; its close to the neighborhood and it's new in town. we were greeted when we walked in and waited no time for seating. the place was busy, but we got seated and soon the waiter came to greet us! Our waiter's name was Drew, and he was good at his job. He knew about the menu, the history of the restaurant, and anything else you wanted to ask him! We tried Wings for a starter and then ordered a chicken sandwich, one with fries and one with chips to try them both out. The food was very good and hot when it came to the table. The waiter came by often to make sure that we were satisfied and didn't want anything. I ordered a dessert, which I rarely do, and it was good also. The bathrooms were very clean and the atmosphere was very inviting. I will be back to try another dish!! read more

I agree with some of the other reviews in that I don't understand how there is any way someone didn't experience 5 stars. Super clean restrooms, helpful staff, waiters and waitresses assist you even if it's not their table. AWESOME tap list. Beer garden has some super fun games... a great experience all around. Our go-to in Lawrence is Free State Brewery, but we were looking to try something new. This restaurant had good reviews, so we thought we would give it a try. It was mediocre, at best. The pretzel appetizer was ok - runny cheese sauce with not much flavor. The lettuce in my salad was brown. The menu is fairly limited- mainly flatbread pizza. Ours was ok. My son's sandwich was fair. The waitress was also fair and clearly wished she were somewhere else. Overall this was a disappointing experience. Back to Free State we go. read more

We waited a few months after this new brewpub opened to try it. Initial reviews were spotty, so we figured that, like most new restaurants, they needed a few weeks to work out the kinks. Evidently they have more work to do. On our visit, they finally had four house beers on tap I tried a berry sour wittier. My husband tried their American wheat beer. My beer was flat. None of the promised "burst of berry flavor" I was expecting. The American wheat beer was bland and flavorless. We also tried the beer pretzels. The pretzels themselves were piping hot and crisp. The smoked gouda dipping sauce was savory. But the dish was supposed to include sliced apples, which it didn't. When I asked, our listless, somewhat frustrated waiter said they had JUST run out of apples. There is a grocery store only blocks away, on the same street. Why not get more apples? So we left and went elsewhere for dinner. We will try it again in a few months to see if there's any improvement. Because there is sure room for that. read more
