Yep, it is an old fast food restaurant but it is where the locals eat fine food in Raytown.

Chef Andre prepares and presents delicious, beautiful food for his customers. Alejandro, his son, provides excellent, friendly service. The setting is an old drive-in fast food restaurant on a busy street. The decor includes a few pictures of long-time customers, festive Mexican art and cheerful bright colors. Fiesta Azteca is a genuine find! It is that rare hole-in-the-wall place that serves divine food, feels like home and thus creates an unexpected and memorable dining experience. For a real treat, just ask Chef Andre to prepare you something special (I am not kidding! Just ask!). He will gladly do it, and the result will amaze you. He can cook anything! Vegetarian fare is no problem, and no hassle. Take time to savor the sauces. Enjoy food that is actually plated well and appealing to the eyes as well as the pallet (too many Mexican restaurants serve their food like slop!). The Marghaita's are not to heavy -- worthy! The prices are moderate! There is always just the right amount of cheese. Simple dishes like spinach and eggs are done extremely well. And the beans (the hallmark dish of any good Mexican restaurant) are superb! It is comfortable, fun, fine dining in an hole-in-the-wall on Raytown Road. 5-stars for me.

    Family dinner was great!

Heard a lot of good things from friends and coworkers so we came by tonight for dinner and loved every bite. I got steak and shrimp my wife got steak shrimp and chicken. We will absolutely be back for more. Highly recommended. Service was great can't say enough about how great it is.

    Delicious!

Visiting on business from Cincinnati, so I thought I'd give this place a try based on the yelp reviews. I'm glad I did! Don't let the exterior fool you, the food speaks for itself! The salsa that accompanied the chips was so delicious! Best I've had a quite some time. Lots of flavor with just the right amount of kick. I enjoyed the cheese enchiladas and the beans were whole pinto beans, which is a nice change. The owner appreciated my business and couldn't have been any nicer. I'll be back on my next visit to KC.

    Mmmm, horchata

Last time for us. Overpriced bland food. Raytown mexican food? Go to Rincon. Otherwise go to the Kansas side for real food.

I wish I would have ordered my own. (I will for sure next time around) I did order a steak fajita and it was seasoned well. Refried beans were tasty. The salsa is not spicy at all, and the prices are very reasonable and they have daily specials which is nice. The service isn't great but it's not terrible either. The spot is clean, but not fancy by any means. Plenty of out front parking. The food isn't anything special but it is good. I had the Thursday special burrito and added white queso to it. It was HUGE. Only ate half of it! I didn't like that they made me take my cup of water back to my car, I am extremely picky when it comes to water so I always bring my own. I've never ever had anywhere not allow me to bring in my own water, they said I had to either put it at their counter or take it to my car, which I chose to take it to my car because I don't leave my drink unattended. They got me a glass of water but I unfortunately didn't like the water. So that was a bum deal. And makes me not want to go back.

The menu is small but delivers big on flavor and meat offerings: carne asada, al Pastor, ground beef, chicken, shrimp and fish. Vegans have a bean option. On this visit, I had the shrimp tacos. OMG! They brought the heat. Juicy shrimp. The shells looked and tasted like they were grilled which gave more texture along with the spices, cilantro and onion giving my mouth a flavorful party. The meal comes with 3 tacos rice and beans. In a previous visit I'd had the chicken quesadilla and it was yummy. I plan to return to try everything on the menu. The owner said a margarita machine is coming soon. But for now only American and Mexican sodas.

My three street tacos ($2 each including tax) and one fish taco ($3 including tax) were ready eight minutes after I ordered. The ordering process was efficient, with a friendly staff member outside the truck using an iPad with a credit card reader. There was no signing and no touching the iPad, so it was all contact-free. The tacos were nicely packaged, with a nice, medium salsa and lime wedges. The 4" tortillas were soft, moist, and fresh, while the four meats I tried varied greatly in flavor. The al pastor was moist, flavorful, and somewhat spicy with a good portion size (nice!), while the marinated pollo was a little drier (but still good), the grilled tilapia was okay with only a small portion size, and the asada consisted of tiny, over-cooked, dry beef cubes. Bottled water and sodas were available at reasonable prices from their cooler, but there was no seating. Watch their social media sites for their next location. Overall, I'm thinking 3.5 stars and rounding up for the reasonable price.

Was disappointed it was NOT fried tacos but corn shells that were fried and then topped. I was pleasantly surprised by the simple toppings of lettuce, tomato, avocado, and cotija. They served with rojo and verde salsa, and salt. Both salsas (with meal and chips, as well as taco beef) were under seasoned, which is always a catch-22 for some. Salsa was extremely tomato flavored, which many like, but it is from a lack of seasoning and roasting. Chips were hard corn based, thick, which is another catch-22. Service was great and friendly but I was up-charged for using a debit card. While municipals rarely make this illegal, almost all credit card companies outlaw it as up-charge for debit should be closer to .03% instead of the 3% they charged me. That puts them at risk of losing their contract with their CC servicer (if caught).
