Very rude owner... If you can't handle customer problems without losing your cool you definitely shouldn't be in the wedding industry.

*Unfortunately another one of my "Significant" reviews missing here. This is a second added years…read moreafter the first. I have been traveling to the quaint fishing town of Port Aransas Texas all my life. I went and camped on its beach by myself the first time at 18. I thought I'd explored the entire area and knew every nook and cranny. That is until about twenty years ago,I spotted an interesting structure on top of a dune, casting a glint of sunlight at dawn. I wound my way down a quiet street to where I thought the structure should be. After some searching I found it. Tenetively, I walked a path going behind a house up a grass covered dune. To my surprise it was what looked to be a small church. There was no marker or sign, the door was locked but, I could feel something special about this place. Over a period of years I began to find out about it's history. Originally concieved and built by two Texas woman almost 90 years ago. The tiny chapel has withstood dozens of tropical storms and hurricanes. While other parts of the island have been destroyed and rebuilt many times, just in my life, the chapel stands. In 1972 an artist and University of Texas professor was hired to paint the interior walls. Let me say,Wow! The photographs don't do it justice. In its own simple way I truly place it in the same class of painted churches I've seen right alongside the Sistine Chapel. There's something about this place. Undiscovered by the masses for so long. Perfectly positioned at the highest place on the island. The first few times I visited and " re- found" it,my love for it and amazement grew. Unfortunately due to recent national awareness and exponential growth of Texas,it's no longer a serene visit as in the past. A small parking area has been built and you're likely to run into one to several people. However,if you find yourself in Port Aransas... Go!

I very much enjoyed my visit to the chapel. The guide was very informative. He know so much and…read more gave us lots of information about the chapel and artist. Definitely worth the drive.

. I was checking via…read moreanother site to begin planning a trip for Fall '24 and came upon misguided negative reviews. We are thoroughly familiar with this area, just got back from a Family funeral @ Robstown 2 days ago. For background: This is not IN Corpus; it is b/t the tiny Bluntzer & Sandia communities, it is out-of-the-way, not isolated. The lodgings are in the old dairy facilities, from when this was a working dairy. Lodging is rustic but comfortable; with A/C, full bathrooms, etc. The grounds are a great example of Texan "Chaparral", where the coastal bend plains meet the low rolling hills of mid-South Texas. It is like a nature preserve. Think mesquite, live oaks, & huisache. I cannot imagine Beth being deceptive with her guests; this place is her life's work and shows it. Some pointers: If seeking the beach by auto, one must cross over onto the Island (Mustang/North Padre/Padre) via the JFK Causeway or the Port Aransas Ferry. This is about an hour or more from the B&B. Larger grocery stores are in Calallen/Annaville, C.C., or Robstown. There are few good restaurants nearer than 30". The major tourist attractions involve drives of 30" to 60", don't be afraid to drive. I intend to visit this Fall for second or third season doves. Some activities are expensive by nature, but are great overall values. This place is an absolute JEWEL of South Texas nature. Rick .

I returned to Corpus Christi for a wedding and it happened to be at this venue. This is from a…read moreguest perspective, so keep it in mind, plus I'm Houston bound. I know others might argue, this is a 3 star, especially with the beautiful over the top reception places in Houston, but this place makes perfect sense for Corpus Christi. It's simple, chic, and best of all the packages are affordable. (I went to see how much events cost there. I feel my Houston wedding which was beautiful and 5 stars all the way, cost like a jillion dollars compared to their prices and my event venue wasn't on the crazy expensive side either.) The venue allowed family to do a very traditional old school, Mexican style wedding, with them cooking for all the guests and helping with serving. There were staffers there, who were mainly in charge of clean up and making sure the bride/groom had what they needed. I assume having the staff serve costs more, but seeing that traditional old school style wedding to me was great. Bathrooms were large and clean. Dance space was a tad on the smaller size, but nothing that could prevent a party. Decoration space is basically dependent on how you decorate your wedding. It can be a chic wedding, a traditional one, or something else entirely. Look if you're in Corpus and you're on a budget come here. The bride that had her wedding here was in the Houston area, so they do work with out of town brides too. It's a space for mid sized weddings, so if you need 300 plus, you may need to look elsewhere. With this economy, definitely give this place a shot. You need a wedding, not spend money on a down payment to a 400K house. Go tour it. You'll notice it's simple, but with a keen decorating eye you can make this space be yours, which is great for a girl on a budget.
