I lived in Ecuador down in South America for some time years ago doing some volunteer work over there. I also travel to Mex every chance I get..... before the covid times. So I do very much have a fondness for establishments that remind me of places I've visited in other countries. I don't have some kind of specific product or anything like that to highlight. I just overall liked the experience of being at Mi Tienda. Has a great vibe to it in my opinion. I'll be back at some point to hang around here and see what interesting food finds I can pick up. I was looking around for a certain item, and that's where the problem started a whole store full of workers and no one spoke English. The cashier said oh I don't speak English go to her but there were 4 hers standing there and they all said no to English. Finally a man came up and said no I don't think we sell that item. Now I know everybody needs a job but to have a whole grocery store and nobody speaks English is baffling to me. It tells me if you don't speak or understand English don't come in here asking us questions. I got a problem with that, if I go to Mexico and can't understand Spanish that's perfectly fine with me but in America and can't run in a store in your neighborhood and have a conversation with the staff. It outrageous!
