This small Hispanic supermarket includes a 9-stool counter. You get your beverages out of a grocery cooler, then pay at the register, and take your receipt over to the counterman. I got the Barbacoa Plato, $4.99, and a Diet Coke. I got a generous portion of barbacoa meat. Added chopped onions and cilantro from a drinking-glass-full that sat on the counter. Then topped it with lime and salsa-verde from a big squeeze bottle. Meal was served on thin plastic plates covered with chinese characters; Hong Kong Market sells this plate prominently on its Kitchen aisle. Stools are bright orange vinyl, in good repair. On previous visits a few years ago, I'd had a lot of trouble communicating even a simple lunch order; I speak no Spanish and they spoke no English. I'd resorted to bringing an elderly Mexican co-worker. When we got there, he said the help was all Columbian and he couldn't understand them either. Go figure. But this time, both the counter guy and the gal at the register spoke English and I had no trouble. I didn't ask if they made their own salsa verde, but it sure tasted fresh and had just the right bite to it. I'm not going to stay away so long next time.

Delicious fajita torta and a mexican soda.

I made the mistake of coming to this location after I noticed Aldi was closing at 8:00 PM. They…read morewere severely understaffed. The aisles were close together, but groceries weren't easy to be found. I had to search high and low to locate things on my list due to the organization of the store and I'm so used to shopping at the location in Friendswood. The store prices were pricier than the location in Friendswood. I didn't care for that. The Asian/International aisle was popping because they had everything under the sun for spring roll preparations. I found my Maggi sauce, sweet soy sauce, and canned bean sprouts. However, when it came time to check out; there was a line from the front of the store to the bakery aisle for the self-checkout. There was long lines for the regular lines. It was only three workers holding down the whole store. Now, that's ridiculous. I met with this very kind self-checkout employee. She was very sweet and helped me clean the self-checkout kiosk since it wasn't ringing up my items properly and kept giving me issues each time I scanned my groceries. After this experience, I'll be avoiding this location like the plague.

I love this Kroger and actually drive past another one to shop here. I jokingly call it the "old…read morepeople Kroger" (I fit right in, lol). It's usually frequented by seniors, which creates a calm atmosphere. The staff is consistently friendly, and the selection--especially in the frozen section--is impressive. Everything is spotless, and the produce and meat are always fresh and well-maintained. I often find great deals on clearance meat, which I can't resist; it still looks fresh, unlike clearance items at other stores that can appear discolored and unsafe. Be sure to download the app and clip digital coupons, as it can save you a lot. I find Kroger to be cheaper than most stores. Lastly, the Sushi is made right in store and Wednesday is 5-dollar sushi. I like the sushi here more than HEB although the selection is less here
