I took my 2 year old for an exam. The staff made her feel very comfortable. Dr. Jensen was amazing, she didn't seemed rushed to get to the next patient. The doctors are great. I have been coming here for 10+ years but today I was little distrubed. I did not see the sign that stated the retina screening is now mandatory. You would think that they would have sent a letter prior to my appointment or better yet when you are checking in, explain the new policy. I was told, it makes it easier for the doctor to see everything, but if it is not covered by one insurance, it's up to the patient to decide if they want this screening or not. They have no idea what my budget is like. This screeening is NOT covered by insurance therefore my bill was way higher than I expected. I was not happy. Not to mention the doctor suggest lenses that are not covered by the insurance. I will find a new place to be seen. Also, the mark ups are crazy high. I can get nice glasses at Costco, Sam's club, Walmart, ect.... read more

I decided to head to yelp to find my next optometrist and I hit the jackpot with this one! I have been having issues with a sore feeling behind both my eyes and wanted to rule out any problems that could cause this. I called and got an appointment for the next day! My appointment was at 9:20am and I was there till almost 11am. They went through a variety of regular tests as well as Dr. Krohn checking anything and everything that could potentially cause what's going on with me. He ruled out that my eyes were not the cause of what's going on which is great and now can go onto the next step with my primary. Every test and everything I touched was thoroughly sanitized as well as masks being worn by everyone. I really liked how in depth Dr. Krohn was with me in explaining everything, and was more than willing to answer any question I had. They also don't blow a puff of air in the eyes anymore!!! SCORE!!! I just recently got vision insurance after years of not having it and I was looking for a good optometrist. I was referred to Fig Garden Optometry by family members who love them. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and clean the office was and how friendly the staff were. I had a bit of a wait and they had explained that they were a bit understaffed and had a few emergencies but they were really apologetic about the situation. I was very impressed by how thorough they were and took their time to get my eyes assessed. It turned out I did need frames and they had many options for me to look out. The only thing that was difficult was looking at frames while my eyes were being dilated. Thankful my husband was there to help me decide. All in all I recommend this office. I've been going here for several years. If you have hard to fit contacts (eye disease etc.) then Dr. Krohn is the best in the valley. I'd pay out-of-pocket if it had to. The contact specialist at Kaiser was a joke compared to the expertise offered by Dr. Krohn and the CLFers at Eye Q do not compare either. They are way better than Kaiser but sitll not as upto date with specialized contact lens offerings. I've always been pleased with all of the staff here but I'd put up with everything else being awful to get such great vision/comfort for my hard-to-fit eyes. So happy!!!! I went into the location just to see if they had a good selection of eyewear. And I was very happy that they did plus I was told that they could special order for me. I then asked about an appointment. They had appointments open for the following week - AMAZING! My last place I would have waited until April for an open appointment. I took the appointment and ordered new glasses. I was told around two weeks for my glasses. I was okay with that.... I received a text message six days later letting me know that my glasses were in. The best optometrists. I had an eye "emergency" after a lash lift gone wrong, and they responded to my voicemail that I left over the weekend. One of the doctors personally texted me so she could see pictures of my eye. She wrote a prescription to my pharmacy ASAP so I could get the right medication to get me through the weekend, and they scheduled my Appt first thing Monday morning to see me. They were honestly lifesavers, and I cannot thank this office and the amazing doctors enough for providing EXCEPTIONAL care for their patients. I have a history of detached retina. My vision did not seem right, so I called and was in an exam room with Dr. Krohn within an hour. Referred me to a retina specialist and I got an appointment the next morning plus a call from Krohn personally to make sure I was taken care of. He also diagnosed and treated a rare autoimmune problem with my corneas. I cannot say enough about the professionalism of this staff. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Krohn for nearly 30 years. I'm very pleased with the care I receive from him. He and his staff are very thorough, professional and on top of everything. The services are not inexpensive though. If you have a vision condition that needs frequent monitoring like I do, you don't want to rely on the discount services offered elsewhere. Figarden Optometry always maintains state-of-the-art equipment to give their clients the best vision assessment possible. I feel it is worth the extra expense. I do, however, feel they are a bit heavy-handed pushing the glasses sales end of the business. I understand why they do this, but it's a bit off-putting when all you want is an eye-health exam and are not looking to purchase new glasses every year. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Fig Garden Optometry! I had previously gotten all of my glasses and lenses from another place that should never be named. The last lenses I received from "unnamed glasses place"were terrible. When I went to pick them up from "unnamed glasses place" I immediately told them something was wrong. After 3 more visits to "unnamed glasses place" and 2 more eye exams they told me that there wasn't anything wrong with their lenses and I shouldn't be having an issue with them. Because me not seeing through my lenses would be an indicator that their lenses are fine, sure. So I took my glasses to Fig Garden Optometry, after an eye exam, they showed me the different numbers they got for my lenses from the "unnamed glasses place" numbers. It took over a week for my glasses to come in which was a little annoying, but I don't want to knock off a star because the facility, staff, and everything else was great. The staff were easy to talk to and made it an enjoyable experience. They had a great selection of frames as well! My glasses are perfect. I can see clearly through them, just as glasses should be! I will definitely be returning even though they don't take my insurance just because of how great everything was and how they made sure my glasses were perfect for me! read more

I have been going to fig garden optometry for 4 years. I am now looking for a new provider. They NEVER ask if I want insurance or extended care. The frames are cheap and highly susceptible to wear within 3 months. I am 55 years old and have worn glasses since the 3rd grade. This year, the attendant told me my eyebrows were different hights and she could not fix my glasses to my comfort level. WHAT? My glasses have never been slanted. EVER. The people are nicer, the office is cleaner, and my visit was so much faster. When I showed up, I was surprised at how quickly I got in for my exam! This is our 3rd year with Dr. Cole here. She is so great. Calm, patient, thorough and just wonderful with our 5 year old daughter. Amy is who we always see first and she is just FANTASTIC. I cant say enough good things about her. She gets down on a child's level, talks to them in a way that just calms them down and make even my super squeamish daughter do what she needs to do get her eyes examined . She tries to make it fun, joking and engaging her. Even the girls who help us pick out our glasses are very helpful and never rush us. It turns out I had the wrong prescription from my former eye doctor, which I believe is true, as I can see more clearly with the new prescription. I called and set up an appointment and asked if they excepted my insurance and they did. Great! They called back to say that they could not find my name through the insurance. I talked to the lady at least four times about this not her fault it was new insurance and there was some sort of glitch. We finally got it worked out so I went in for my appointment. First thing she tells me is we don't accept this insurance. I told her I spoke with this other lady at least four times about this insurance. Said if I had a certain medical insurance they wouldn't accept my vision insurance. Still not sure what medical has to do with vision but she was kind enough to explain why it was all my fault as to why I didn't know this information. Poor customer service is such a pet peeve of mine. read more

I give the doctors 5 stars! Very knowledgeable, professional and spent a lot of time with both my husband and I during our eye exams. No problem whatsoever with the doctors. Unfortunately, I have to give them only 1 star overall because they are SOOOO OVERPRICED for buying glasses or contacts!!!!!!!!! My husband was prescribed the same contacts as he's been using for the past 4 years. Initially they charged my husband for a year's worth of contacts and the pricing was fair and similar to what we pay online. Then when I went back to pick them up they charged me another huge sum. Said they made an error on the initial charge. So we ended up paying $900 for a year's worth of the same exact contacts that I pay about $475 for online at WebEyeCare. SAME CONTACTS, TWICE THE PRICE??? and that's with the supposed no insurance discount??? When I had my exam, I picked out sunglasses & vision frames and had them quote me for my Rx lenses + frames. All the bells & whistles on the lenses. $900 for 2 pairs of glasses! So I said I had to think about it. Went back to my trusty Costco optometry department and got 3 pairs of glasses for $500 with designer frames VERY comparable to what I choose over at Fig Garden and the exact same specs on the lenses. We're also business owners, and all for business' making money. Why else would they be in business. The exam fees for the Doctors are about twice the price as Costco, but we wanted to try another Optometrist to see if they would be more knowledgeable. I knew this prior to going there and was fine with the charges. However, I just can't support a business that has such a huge markup on their products. I called in today to see if they made a mistake. They called back and said nope, that's our price. The manufacturer is not offering any rebates, so sorry but that's the price. The back side of their Rx page says they offer competitive pricing similar to online pricing. Not so!!! read more
