The training sesh was the perfect introductory class to hook anyone. We got right down & dirty really did some work. To surprise my husband, I simply called Aaron, and we set up a time to meet early in the am before his regularly scheduled classes. It was simple. I highly recommend a private before jumping right in. It gave us an overview of the craft & what life is life on any given day at the gym. The gym is rather large but kind of hidden in a back street. It's insanely clean (Aaron was actually cleaning as we walked in), and you, of course, just leave your shoes in the entrance areas, never on the mats. Aaron is super sweet, patient, & thorough. He answered all of my zillions of questions & taught us all about Muay Thai's history, the difference between that and MMA, & about his yearly pilgrimages to Thailand, which look insane!! It was great to be able to pick his brain as we learned. Aaron didn't take it easy on us, we certainly got right to it. I never once felt intimidated or unable. He's super respectful, & we left feeling pretty knowledgeable about the craft, & certainly like badasses. We definitely want to take more classes together! I love that this is something we can do as a couple!! Aaron told us people of all levels, even children, train. He has weekly & drop-ins. They're all pretty reasonably priced. I grew up watching Pay Per View fighting with my dad late at night. He always wanted me to be a kickboxer because of my solid dancer legs. I felt like I was living out some long-lost dream here with Aaron & it was truly excellent!! It's definitely a confidence builder and certainly makes you want to learn even more for next time. Fighting is my favorite sport & hubs & I watch it regularly. It was nice to not just talk about but be about it!! Boom!! We recently finished watching 'Kingdom,' an insane incredible show about MMA, so this goes hand in hand. I highly suggest, if you're watching & intrigued, taking a class with Aaron OR if you're taking lessons with Aaron to watch! It really makes you want to train & learn the actual technicalities of fighting. Aaron is super educated & just deconstructed what exactly went wrong during the big McGregor fight on his Insta. I suggest a follow if you're into fighting. He often (especially during quarantine posts at home spars)! We couldn't have loved or recommend this experience more for any lover of fighting. Honestly, it was perfect. Perfect lesson, perfect space, perfect teacher, perfect gift. Oh, and I love that old school vintage fights are shown on the TV in the background on repeat the entire time. It really gets you in the mood!! Such a super incredible time & gym!

We did a bag class which was a lot of punching intermixed with floor work including my most hated burpees. The class was challenging and educational. At the beginning of the class they wrap your hands and give you boxing gloves. The studio and gym space was large and did not feel crowded or hectic. I liked the fact that they had real gym equipment so even if there was not a class going on you could go there and work out. I was surprised to hear that they offered yoga and hit classes too. The gym is very affordable for all that it offers. We did an intro class but we are considering joining now. Thank you Randall!

First of all, the community is large and full of people who are interested in boxing and MMA but are also friendly folks. It's also not dominated by a bunch of dudes, which is nice to see. The instructors are top-notch and willing to discuss technique, both in terms of offense and defense. Highly recommended for people who are looking to get fit, find community, and/or looking to learn combat sports. ** Also, I'm struggling to understand some of the negative reviews I've seen here. The facility is incredibly well-maintained and the management is professional.**

I'm not the type of person that is big on the GYM. I hate going and have trouble forcing myself. So…read morethe other night at 11pm I was thinking I have to do something. I need a hobby man. I search to see what the deal was with this gym I passed a few times while biking. I saw it was an MMA gym and they were having a $19 week. So you can go to as many classes as you want in one week for $19. So I was like ok I'll try it. Being weird and uncomfortable in my own skin like I am I was anxious to walk in. So the next day i got a text from them. I replied I wanted to go over the options with someone in person. So they said stop in a little early. I got there at 5:40 while a kids class was going on. The owner sauntered over and introduced himself. Thanked me for coming. He seems like a very zen type of person. He showed me where to sit while the front desk helped someone else. Guy at the front desk was super helpful and easy to talk to. He gave the down low and didn't apply any pressure to sign up now OR DIE. You know how some places are. He just got me ready and then showed me where to go. The 101 class was really cool. A lot of people were new or just there to learn self defense. I didn't feel like there was any competitive I have to be the best. Everyone was pleasant and there to learn. Good mix of people too. The 101 class started on time and shot straight into drills. There was no time wasted in the hour class. So anyway I was impressed so I went back to the front desk. Again no pressure. He was just like oh how did you like it? He showed me a few benifits of signing up in the next 24 hours and then was going to leave it at that. I was like no sign me up now. So I got 2 weeks free, got my $19 back and got a discount on the sign up fee. All in all it came out to $169 a month I think. I wont be billed til April. The owner came over again while eating a banana and asked if I liked it too. I wanted to go back for the next 101 on Wednesday but my arms are really sore. So I'll wait til Friday.

Once he's outed as a fraud and grifter, he packs up, changes business name, and moves. My story with this clown began normal enough. I had a special needs kid that showed an interest. Everything was cool for a few weeks. It went from Joe being there in person to being "on vacation" for weeks at a time. The instructors were a mix of people who were skilled and competent to men I don't really want around my kid. And eventually there was one instructor for almost 20 kids. My kid was yelled at multiple times because he wasn't doing what he was supposed to. However, he didn't receive ANY instruction. He was just being berated because Joe can't bothered to staff his supposed gym. Then comes the separation issue. We withdrew our kid because he wasn't literally not receiving instruction. I kept time on my phone. The final day it was 37 minutes without any direction. I tried contacting Joe multiple times about how unsatisfied I was with the unprofessional behavior. After notifying Joe we were done he threatened us with breach of contract. That's right. As soon as the money starts drying up he's Mr. Responsive. He even threatened my credit score. I received tons of emails from EFC, his hatchetman, to pay up or face consequences. Well, turns out Joe can't keep records, like most absentee business owners. He couldn't produce a signed contract, because I didn't sign one despite his insistence. He constantly needed more time to find it. And kept initiating charges on my credit card until I reported it as fraud. He eventually produced a document signed by someone other than me hoping to bully me into paying. I reported EFC as fraud to my credit card and my lawyer had to send Joe a strongly worded email to cut his fraud act out. He backed off eventually, and moved shortly thereafter. If I didn't have access to a lawyer, I would've been on the hook for hundreds of dollars, if not more. To Joe: you're a fraud. You prey upon people to sustain your lifestyle. You provide no real service or value. I think the term for that is parasite. I still have screenshots of all your texts where you threatened me with financial harm. Before you reply, my lawyer hates...what was it that he called people like you..."scum bags." Yea, scum bags. And he's up for another run at you and EFC. Get a real job. You're both a has been. You're a never were.

Front desk people wear really unkempt clothes and are not looking like they work at the gym. There was once a big roach on a desk at the front reception and a front desk personnel would not kill it. It was crawling all over desk. So I grabbed something that was on the desk and smashed it on that big roach. The front desk personnel thanked me for being so helpful. She then said she was not going to pick it up, but instead put a paper on it so others knew it was something to avoid. They have roaches there and I've seen a few. Their air conditioning recently stopped working too!!! My review still applies to instructor named Randon! This gym is lucky to have him. Because some other instructors there don't know what they are doing. With that said, I think I may be canceling this gym. I really want better looking gym with better conditions. Ana is super nice in the front and Carlos is such a fun and high energy instructor. I've been thoroughly enjoying his Sunday noon classes. He makes them fun and plays the game "Carlos says" like Simon Says but the kickboxing version. Plus there'sa gym area with mirrors set up around it along with free weights and kettle bells. The room itself is pretty big as well with lots of punching bags available. Being a yogi you would I wouldn't be open to this kind of stuff, but self defense is important and was initially he reason why I started taking up kickboxing. I've ended up loving so much though that I decided it's a great part of my exercise regimen. It boots your confidence, makes you feel stronger, and keeps your body fit and toned because they don't just have you box and jab, they have you do sit ups, crunches, planks, push ups, etc. and a good warm up/cool down. I'm glad I found this place(on Yelp no less). They also sell boxing gloves and other merchandise like hand wraps, shirts, and sweaters. I myself splurged and got one of their crop top sweatshirts which I don't regret because it's very comfy and keeps me warm because it's lined with a fleece like dupe material. There are also lockers available and changing rooms I should mention as well as those are important things to consider. What I particularly love is how they don't make you sign a contract. They are super flexible and accommodating with you. At Tapout, I would be charged a monthly rate but had to be committed to it and if I bowed out, I would still be charged a fee of $170 unless I canceled three months in advance or something to that effect. Gym memberships can get pretty pricey but I love how down to earth and understanding they are here. Like Carlos says, "It'll be the best 60 minutes of your life" :)
