Horrible place and very low amount of professionalism--took so long to get ahold of someone. I called, nobody answered. They'd call when I was busy, I called back, they usually didn't answer. Eddie was supposed to be my niece's instructor. She had finally been able to schedule some lesson, for them to be canceled last minute. He also said some of them had not been schedule, yet when we had scheduled them, he was onboard. Heres the kicker--called him to ask and see what the issue was, and he was very rude to my mother who had also paid for the lessons. He ended up saying he was going to just refund us. I paid for my daughter to get driving lessons with figs (wow) big mistake I feel like I threw my money away. I am still confused how you teach a young child to drive and all you do is yelled and insult her. I have to say thank you figs for not teaching My daughter anything. I trusted this business and they did not do what they claimed they were capable of.. His availability is months out. Once he becomes available, you get 3 lessons and a "run around" for the last 2 . Next thing you know, it's been 2 months since your last lesson. He will also promise you New Windsor now has driving tests,and it's a "walk in the park". The test examiner was a pure STIFF and failed my kid. Fig had my kid on the highway in lesson 2. That's how much confidence he had in my kid. Both my kids took the 5 hr class and did 10 lesson package. They both passed the road test the first time. Most reasonable price of all the driving schools around. They took them back and forth to the road test which allowed us not to take a day off of work.. read more

My son had one appointment with them and we scheduled a second, that was for Friday 2/2 at 9:30am. He was waiting at the door and I ran to the store and back and they still had not shown up, my wife called and left a message around 9:50am. They called back after 10am saying "we were there , we were at the back of the house, we waited at the back because you have a shared driveway". my wife told him we have a driveway camera and he never showed up. the owner continued to argue and I said " we have a camera and we were waiting and he didn't show up" the owner asked my wife what I said and she said my husbands upset and the owner said if I was upset we should find a new school. So my wife ended the call and about 15 minutes later he calls back and said "ok I was at the wrong house" my wife said of course because he wasn't here. my wife then said she should've known because of the reviews and he got all boo-boo Betty and started yelling. They don't respect your time or money and probably not your kid either. read more

Our experience with Fig's ADS went beyond expectations. Jennifer was the assigned instructor for my son. Jennifer was extremely pleasant and her driving instructions made my son more road conscious and a safer driver. She prepared him very well (he passed the road test on his first try). We are very grateful to Jennifer for being so affable and professional. She was considerate of our time and ALWAYS replied to our calls/texts in a timely fashion. If you want to pay someone to insult you rather than explain what you did wrong, figs is for you. Nearly got into an accident on my second drive because he said go when I didn't have the right away and not knowing better at the time I ended up cutting someone off nearly hitting them. Had a no show after waiting early and a half hour past the arrival date. We called for him to say he was waiting for 15 mins. No call, honk or knock so we dont believe him. He also misscheduled (I wrote down my next appointment in my phone after each session) he doesnt show and says it was another day and talked down to me like a child at that next session saying "now repeat after me, friday" I only blamed myself for this until the former no show happened. Now I believe he's been bullshitting me. Also this last one is speculation, my friend had scheduled with him too at the same time and once I had paid for the more expensive plan he stopped calling back my friend. (Who also had no shows when he finally did get an appointment) Final personal note Fig, you dont get to say to people "You think you're cute doing that?" "Oh you think you're cool doing that huh?" (Things said to me. Not sure if he thought I was driving with one hand because I had lowered my hand to have leverage in a turn. My hand never left the wheel though he never explained why he said those things so I really don't know what I did wrong or if he thought I was doing something wrong, he was never clear about it on both occasions.) When your student doesn't even understand what they have done wrong and even if they have done something wrong you don't belittle them. This business should have no place in teaching, especially around teens who have most likely never had any experience behind the wheel before. Get a real driving instructor or waste 500 bucks. The owner of Figs is a joke. His female assistant instructor rude and disrespectful to the kids that are already nervous. Ed the owner instructed my child. Very unreliable. 3 times didn't show up and a week before the road test went MIA. Took my daughter on her own. Stick with the classes at the high school and if you are unable to take the school course because of scheduling please use someone else read more

Terrible service. If I could give zero stars, I would. I was so disappointed, because they came highly recommended by several people, including my best friend, but apparently they've gone downhill lately. I tried contacting them with a question through their website in early/mid January, and got no response. On Jan 14, I sent an email directly to the address listed, and got an answer the next day. On Jan 16 I sent them the information that they requested in order to set up an evaluation lesson for my son. I heard nothing back, and on Jan 21 I sent a follow-up email to check that they had received the information. That evening I received a voice mail from Eddie stating that he was returning my call because "I had questions or something," and said that I could call him back on his cell, which I did approximately five minutes later. When I explained who I was and that I was looking to make an appointment for my son, he sounded irritated and said that he wasn't even in the office, and would call me back in an hour. I didn't hear from him until four days later, Jan 25, at which time we set up an evaluation lesson for my son on Jan 30. Eddie showed up on time, gave my son the lesson, and told him that he would call me to discuss what he felt we should do going forward. I didn't hear from him, so three days later, on February 2, I sent him a text, asking him to please call me when he had a chance to discuss the evaluation lesson. It's now February 26, and I never did hear back. I understand that people can get busy, but to not answer messages or follow through on your word is a lousy way to run a business. I wouldn't recommend Fig's under any circumstances. read more

My driving teacher is Jennifer and I love her so much. She is very nice and always remembers appointments and understands if you ever need to cancel and doesn't scold you for missing a lesson. She is helpful and I learn from her. I recommend Jennifer. read more

About their teacher Ms. Jennifer. Wonderful teacher. Without a doubt the best driving instructor ever. Very patient, kind, compassionate, fun to work with. She does not beat you over the head whenever you make a mistake. Absolutely the best. Even when she feels sick or out of it emotionally, she selflessly makes sure that you feel special...on a "bad" day, she continues to be a good person towards you. Would probably take her again if I could, just because she's so special. Would not have passed my driver's test if not for her. You just feel so comfortable when you're around her, and not tense or scared [of making a mistake], something that's extremely important if you're driving a car. I say she is the best, and would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to drive, and would certainly recommend Figs Driving School almost solely because of her. And my brother, who went through three driving instructors before he met her, would agree with me. read more

Settling a score here from years ago. I took driving lessons from this guy over a period of a year coming and going from college. Really not the best service. On one occasion I was sitting at home waiting for him, and after an hour or so of him being late I called him and he said he was in my driveway waiting, but I didn't come out. Of course, my response was, "Why didn't you knock?!" Then a few days before my road test, I had scheduled a lesson with him that he did not show up for, no call no nothing just blew me off. And get this, he talked my mom OUT of renting a car from him and driving me to the road test, even though 95% of my driving experience was in that car. And he refused to change his schedule to do that when we later reconsidered. So basically he can blow me off for a lesson last minute, but can't reschedule someone else ahead of time. Needless to say I failed my road test, that I am not saying was their fault, however it was a HUGE contributing factor. If you want blatant unprofessionalism, like I described, then absolutely hire them. I hope they read this read more
