So after our first experience, which is typed up below, we ended up just hiring Eric to seed the…read moregrass for us. The quote he gave us was affordable and once we asked him to do it, he was very quick at getting us into his schedule. We let the weeds get out of hand again since the last time he helped us out, so we actually needed him to get rid of the weeds again before we could seed. He came one day and took out all the weeds himself. He also spray weed killer all over the yard. Left instructions on how to spray for weeds for one week. We needed to spray daily. Then he came back a week later and did the tilling of the yard, to get the dirt softened up. After that he had to haul away some dirt for us to the landfill as we had dug a hole for our trampoline to be in ground and had just piled it in the yard where the grass needed to go. Next he and his crew got the irrigation system set up. They brought in a trencher and dug the trenches for the pipes, connected everything, got the sprinklers hooked up, tested them, and then buried the pipes. He was able to connect the sprinklers to our watering system we already had on the house which was nice. When he finished, he graded and then seeded the yard, as well as put down the top soil. After the seeding, he watered the yard and then gave us instructions on how to care for the grass, what the watering schedule needs to be, and how long to stay off of it, etc. The whole process seemed long, but in reality it only took about 2 weeks, and that's only because he had to get the weeds out! He's fast, affordable, friendly, and good at communicating without trying to oversell you. He runs a really good and honest business and we'll definitely be hiring him again. I'll come back and add to my review after the grass is grown! We're very excited about it. First experience - beginning of summer We moved into a new house about a year before we hired Eric. The backyard was not done. Just dirt. We weren't ready to fix it up right away so we left it. Then the rain and and the MUD. ‍‍ And then after the mud came the MASSIVE INFLUX OF WEEDS!! Weeds of every shape and kind! Our poor dogs were constantly covered in burs and we hAd to go through their fur every time they came inside. Our kids couldn't play out there either! Anyways, we found Eric on yelp, hired him to clean up the backyard and get rid of all the weeds. He and his crew came, stayed for a few hours, and it was like a brand new yard! They even put the weeds in our green bin for us! We really liked how he handled business. He's quick, affordable, and a nice guy as well. After hiring him for the weed removal, we decided we would ask him about seeding grass. He was very open with suggestions, and even went as far as to explain the exact process of what we would need to do, the order of things, etc. My husband was considering doing it himself at this point, and Eric was very helpful and provided a bunch of great tips and info on how to get us going. We went with Fuentes Landscaping and the estimate said $8,400 just for labor. We needed sod,…read moresprinklers, river rock, a couple trees. They kept postponing the start date. I wanted to cancel but my husband is too nice and said to wait. The first Monday they showed up at 10:51 to start. It was only two men. I asked if there was more and the owner Ralph said no. For $8,400 just for labor there should be a crew and showing up early and staying for the day. These guys come and go throughout the day. They didn't level the dirt before sod was put down like I asked during the estimate. I asked Ralph if they could level the ground and haul the dirt off and he said yes. These guys just turned over the dirt with a shovel. Ralph is a salesman and fast talker. In the end we paid $14,110.00 and definitely was overpriced, understaffed, and it's just basic. The yard doesn't pop out. After seeing what our neighbors around here got and the price they paid I just look at my husband and tell him he should have let me cancel when they kept postponing the start date. He now says that he knows we should have canceled with Fuentes Landscaping. They didn't finish on time. Our home builder came to take out four pieces of cement by the side gate on Thursday and Ralph said that's a shame now they can't finish the River Rock by the side of the fence. Well it was supposed to be done by Tuesday like he told me. After all the coming and going and not showing up, calling me late to say they can't make it I thought at least they could come back to finish. They started 5/14 and finished 5/24. I had a previous house that had more sod and sprinklers done that was knocked out with a crew in a couple of days. Ralph kept asking me to refer him, put a sign in my yard advertising for him, write a review. He wasn't worried about the quality of work or giving good customer service. This was definitely a learning experience and money and time wasted.
