I hired this company a month ago to do a large project on 1.7 acres. Jose came out on a Thursday and gave me a fantastic deal and I asked when he can get started and his reply was yesterday... They started the next day with a large crew and worked every day like clock work. They just finished the project today and went way above the call of duty!! Jose has a awesome crew and they just get it done!!!! They did such an awesome job I gave them more stuff to do around here.. They are clean neat organized n make things happen and quickly too.. Hired Tellez landscaping to work on my new construction home aka a dirt back yard. I give them a solid C on their work. The good: Punctual Finished before deadline Nice concrete work The bad: Quoted one price, made promises about what we'd get, John sprung additional "over budget" costs at the end, despite the fact we discussed these items when we got our initial bid. Sneaky. Damaged my stucco in several areas; had to keep calling for them to repair. Repair is not even complete. Never heard from them again. Plants are spaced wonky ..... for example 2 flower bushes are close together and the third is another foot away, looks silly. Shade tree placed in yard is not centered on the hole that was dug, so the border looks crooked. drives me crazy!! Gate does not match fencing and it looks like crap. No really, it looks bad. Why have a non matching gate?! The gate is dog ear fencing and the rest of the fence is wire with framing. Space under gate was filled with random extra bricks instead of a kick board. Again, looks bad and lazy. They quoted us for 24x24 stepping stones only to get cheap ugly 12x12 stones. Also, at least 6 of our plants have died in the year since they landscaped. BOO! read more

I am updating my review with how disappointed I am with this company. We have lost almost all of our plants and had to replace them due to them not digging holes big enough for them to grow. The roots on some of the bigger plants are growing out of the ground. Our drips have also had to be replaced. And our two biggest trees, crape myrtles, we now have to dig trenches around and under just to get them to grow. They have not grown and after having to replace most of the other plants we purchased, we realized they didn't dig a whole big enough for our trees. We trusted this company to do their job and we didn't realize until after it was too late how much money we have lost and how horrible our backyard now looks. John gave us this whole lecture on how this company was more expensive than many others because of the employees they have and how much they pay them, because of their performance. Well we just got bamboozled. 12k down the drain and much more lost due to the replacement of everything. If you do go with this company, please watch everything they do so years down the road you don't have as much disappointment as we have had. read more

I left messages and also text their number (which shows as read) but they never responded. Very unprofessional and rude. I am so pleased to get to write the first review for Tellez Landscapes and Jose Tellez! We worked with Jose over the past few months do completely re-landscape our front yard and back yard. I mean COMPLETELY. Our backyard was a swamp that did not drain, we had a dying tree, and our patio had sunk. Our front yard had a too-small driveway, exposed tree roots, and broken sprinklers. Throughout the job, Jose was amazing to work with. He was very patient and listened to all of my (neurotic) concerns. He was responsive and quickly made changes and adjustments as we went through the process. I had never done a landscaping project and their are so many decisions to make. Stamped concrete? Colored concrete? Retaining wall stone choices? Types and colors of gravel? Jose had tons of pictures of his prior work, samples of materials, product books, and he was always willing to look at and explain different options that I had seen online and was considering. He had great suggestions and was also listened when I wanted something other than what he suggested. It was also important to me that Jose was a licensed contractor, as I would never take on such a large project with someone that was not licensed. At the end of this project, I could not be happier. Seriously. Everyone that has seen the yard is amazed. In total, the project included re-grading the front and back yards, completely new drainage in the front and back, new 3-car driveway, paved RV pad, 3 areas of structural/sitting wall, new sod, new plants, new sprinkler system including sprinkler heads and drip lines, removal of old drainage and sprinkler systems, removal of old dead tree roots, new fence on all sides with gates, new front porch and walkway including new stairs, new landscape lighting and fixtures, and a very happy customer. One of the best compliments was from an AT&T contractor who was working on the neighbor's house. He said he was looking for concrete flaws to point out and he couldn't find any. We also had the neighbor's roofing contractor ask who did our fence! Jose's crew was professional and friendly. They worked quickly, but were still meticulous, and cleaned up at the end of each day. We have used Tellez Landscapes for both our front and backyards, we had a new build and both the front and back were blank spaces. Most recently they completed our front yard and we couldn't be happier. First they were able to start a full month earlier than initially expected. The price for the value was fantastic. We had received quotes on our backyard (at John's encouragement) and Tellez was thousands of dollars cheaper. John is very communicative through the whole process and is so friendly (also he programmed our sprinkler system for us and walked through how to use it). Jose and his team are very detail oriented and make sure to clean up. After getting many quotes for the concrete work we needed done and being disappointed by either the price or being ghosted by the companies, we contacted Tellez on the recommendation of friends. We needed a large patio extension, driveway re-paving, and a concrete pad for our garden shed. We cannot recommend them highly enough. John was so great to work with--he was communicative, open, and friendly. The quote was significantly less than the others we got, and the work was excellent! We initially hired John to help us design our backyard and were pleased with the blueprint that he drew out. John recommended using Jose with Tellez Landscapes saying they would get the job done correctly. Trusting they could follow our design, we decided to go with them for our concrete. The Tellez crew did a decent job on most of the concrete but unfortunately did not follow the design. All of the curved corners met at points rather than moving smoothly from one line to another. (See pictures). When this problem was mentioned to Jose he argued that it looked fine. I'm guessing he ran out of bender board for the curves so instead of doing it right and buying more bender board, he tried to make it work. After repeatedly saying we were unhappy with the work, Jose said he would try to fix it. The worst area of the concrete was the s-curve which we sadly had to explain to him how to fix by grinding out 2 inches of concrete. The finished result was still not what it should have been in the first place but is at least less of an eye sore. We decided to go with another company for the rest of the yard and have been much happier with the final product (and a lower price). In short, if you choose to go with Tellez Landscapes you may need to micro-manage the process to get decent results. read more

I found Tellez Landscapes on Yelp and submitted a request for an estimate.  The responded quickly and John came out and put together an estimate on the spot.  We are very satisfied with the performance of Tellez Landscapes in transforming out front yard.  John worked with us on what we wanted to accomplish and understood that we need to get approval from the HOA.  John got us the required plan/drawing for the Architectural Review Committee which was used as an example during the actual meeting for the others that were asking to get approval for their projects.  John worked with us during the project and reviewed the plans for the day every morning and kept in contact with us and the crew.  We had some changes during the project which did not deter them from completing on time.  We had a special request which, John took care of, in making a stepping stone with our dog's paw prints using leftover concrete from the walkway.  We are very happy with the outcome and highly recommend John and his crew. read more

We hired John and Jose after a year of searching for a reasonably priced, fair, and professional company. We needed to build an entire backyard from the ground up (it was just dirt), and it was very difficult to find someone we trusted and wanted to work with since our project involved many elements. We interviewed over 6 different companies before meeting with Tellez. Other companies were either way out of our price point or just plain unprofessional. John drew up a beautiful and creative design (reasonably priced and very, very professional-looking for our HOA) and Jose and his crew did an amazing job with the construction. Our job included an outdoor kitchen, sunken jacuzzi, paver patio, putting green, a firepit area built into the hillside, a lawn area, a kids play area, garden area, cement areas, decomposed granite patios, etc. (All the hard-scape and soft-scape is custom and laid by hand by the hard-working crew). They worked quickly and made us feel like we were their only clients even though we know they are super busy. As with any construction project, there were issues that came up but we always felt like they were very responsive and willing to change design elements to make us happy. We hired Tellez Landscapes twice actually for two different backyard projects, and were very happy with their work! Our first project was to place a fairly simple concrete pad for a new hot tub, Tellez landscapes impressed us with how responsive and professional their team was - plus their quote was less than all the other companies we interviewed! We were so happy with their work that about a year later when we were ready for a bigger backyard project we reached back out to them.
