And who knew that you needed to book outside photographers weeks to months in advance?! I emailed several local photographers in a panic and the only one that responded was Liquid Sunshine -- within just a few hours even! Luckily Jen had a cancellation and offered the spot to us, which I happily snatched up. Newborns are time sensitive! We exchanged a few emails to coordinate/book and I received a nice instruction / what to expect file the day beforehand. I selected my background color choices and there were options for coordinating headbands and wraps laid out waiting when we arrived. Jen was inviting and friendly, polite about our new parent status and helped ease our nerves with a grace that is hard to beat. The studio is the entire bottom floor of her home, spacious and exceptionally well organized and clean. She has soooo many colors, wraps, headbands, props that you are guaranteed to find something to suit your fancy. I was pleased Jen pre-selected some things because it's almost overwhelming. We did the family photos first and Jen helped us look our best, tilt here - hand there - look that way. Then we transitioned to the solo baby photos. It put me at ease knowing Jen had certifications for newborn "handling" that other photographers are lacking. Our baby did great! Jen never made us feel in the way. The session ran smoothly and took a little less than the allotted three hours. A proofing gallery was available the very next day. I LOVE efficiency. There were too many excellent photos to choose so I ended up doubling my initial order. The edited selections were available within two more days - again, the professionalism and timeliness with Liquid Sunshine is hard to beat!

We initially chose Jenny for our wedding photos because stylistically she leans towards more true-to-life/documentary photos. We wanted to capture all of the true memories of our day. So many of the other photographers referred to us were over-exposed and had weird dreamy vibes that just felt like the 1999 Xanga era. Jenny and Kelly captured so many great moments that were posed and candid. The photos were so beautiful and my wife and I are still having a hard time deciding which ones to make into a physical album. They listened to our wants and needs in terms of the types of photos we wanted to capture. We wanted to make sure we had very specific photos with our families, certain backdrops, and especially the candid photography of everyone laughing, dancing, and celebrating. My husband John and I were married at Wine and Roses Country Estate in October, 2012. The entire property, and especially the barn, was flawless on the day of our wedding and there were so many gorgeous photo opportunities it was difficult to take advantage of them all. The farmhouse, cellar and tree house were perfect hangouts for us and our wedding party during the day, and many of my guests enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds while taking a break from dancing. Whereas other venues had hidden fees and added costs, Wine and Roses provided all of the tables, chairs, facilities and transitions we needed, even going out of their way to request that draperies hung for another event the weekend before remain up for us to use free of charge. Johanna, the venue owner, was professional, flexible and easy to work with both leading up to and on the day of our wedding. Rather than see us as just another business arrangement at the tail end of her busiest season, Johanna demonstrated true commitment to making our day special, seamless and fun. Johanna was also able to provide some great recommendations and reviews as we selected our other vendors, which helped us put together a great team of experienced professionals for the day. Melissa, the venue coordinator, was responsive to all of our questions leading up to the big day, even going so far as to help us find ways to trim the budget without sacrificing the important details and special touches. For larger events, I would definitely recommend using Melissa's Jubilee Weddings services for set up and take down. For a very small charge, all set up, preparation and take-down was taken care of on the day of the wedding, giving my family and friends more time to simply enjoy the day. While I was at first concerned to learn that Melissa could not be on-site for our wedding day, she was careful to communicate all details to the day-of coordinator, Leslie, who did a fantastic job at implementing our vision and keeping the day on-schedule. Even our complicated centerpieces were set up perfectly and packed up carefully at the end of the night. While I'm confident that our wedding day would have been memorable regardless of the venue, the staff at Wine and Roses truly made the day's logistics run smoothly, always with our vision and our guests' comfort in mind, which allowed us to relax, focus on the moment and enjoy the day!
