The little shop in the main building check in area was very cute and had a lot of fun things to look at and buy! We stayed one night in a tent camp spot. There are restrooms attached to the main building with showers, toilets, and sink/mirrors. There's also a dish washing space for longer stays. The camp site had decent shade and grass area to put your tent on. There were a couple picnic tables for use as well. There are free-roaming peacocks that are beautiful but are definitely loud in the morning! We went in July which is really hot for the hot springs, but it was nice since it wasn't busy! We had our soak time from 8-10pm which was great to view the sunset and soak while the air cooled off. It's such a unique hot spring location with bathtubs and larger pools. The owner walked around and made sure everyone was comfortable and was super friendly. I liked that they weren't sulfur hot springs so you didn't stink after! The negative reviews here seem like they didn't read the website that explained what to expect. I appreciate the websites honesty in keeping this location rustic and authentic, while acknowledging there are things they could improve. Knowing you're not going to a five-star location would be beneficial. The small business aspect played a huge role, in having great hospitality and a very friendly atmosphere. I'm actually glad that we did, it gave us a chance to explore other things instead. Friday night, we joined other campers and locals for a game of BINGO. It was fun to meet other people and enjoy a spirited game together. I think they might have been short staffed because it took a long time to place a dinner order, but eventually we got to enjoy a burger. We also checked out e-bikes and explored the adjacent bike trail. We wanted to go out a little early and the nice man at the counter was gracious enough to come in early for us. The trailer site we stayed in was nice-lots of shade and a nearby shower and bathroom. I would love to stay at the site #17 which backs up to the river or cabin that overlooks the water next time. We stayed at Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort in one of the train car units in October, and it was…read moreeasily one of the most disappointing lodging experiences we've ever had -- especially for the price (nearly $800 for three nights). From the moment we walked in, it was obvious the unit hadn't been properly cleaned or maintained in a long time. There was thick dust buildup, cobwebs in corners and on light fixtures, and visible grime on multiple surfaces -- even the inside of the front door. We found a dirty sock on the floor and an empty tissue box shoved under the TV. The bed frame was broken, kitchen countertop was broken with large amounts of grout missing, several lamps didn't work, and overall, the train car felt run-down and neglected. It wasn't just the unit. The entire property looked uncared for. The sprinklers outside our window pounded against the glass at 2 a.m., waking us up and forcing us to go outside in the dark to fix them ourselves. The convenience store was rundown, the soda fountain machine didn't work, and there was no coffee so we had to drive 10 miles each morning just to get coffee. There is NO restaurant on site. They sell gas station nachos and hotdogs. They advertise Starlink satellite internet but there are only hotspots around the property. I reported the state of the unit to staff upon checkout and followed up with photos afterward. Instead of taking responsibility, management chose to minimize our experience and referenced a supposed "strict no refund policy" that doesn't appear anywhere on their website or in the confirmation email. When the owners finally responded, they brushed off everything as a matter of "personal standards" and stated "after reviewing all the facts in the situation, a 10% refund seems appropriate, if not generous". The resort is now under new management, and it shows. The focus seems to be entirely on increasing revenue, not maintaining the property or caring for guests. The way they've handled our situation -- dodging responsibility, minimizing our experience, and inventing policies to avoid accountability -- says everything about their priorities. For a place that advertises itself as a "resort," the experience was anything but. The property is in disrepair, the cleanliness is unacceptable, and the management clearly cares more about money than the people spending it. Save yourself the disappointment -- this place is not worth your time or your money. The photos I've attached speak for themselves.

The fries and shakes were good, but the burgers were terrible. My wife's burger came with everything and although there was ketchup on the table the burger was swimming in ketchup and mustard. Mine was the "Cowboy" and came with fried onions, and the onions were so overdone, breaded, and SALTED that they were no longer onions. I removed the onions and ate what was left. I think the beef had some funky filler in it because it was packed tight and not loose like hamburger, and it tasted like it had oats or something in it. Both of us felt like the burger was with us all night, if you know what I mean. The staff needed some training but tried hard. I'd like to see this place succeed, but the prices were high and the cook needs to take some lessons.

We tried to sleep through it. Finally at 3:00 am I requested the staff try to intervene. They told me that they had banged on the door several times already and the occupant would not answer(probably couldn't hear over the music). The staff would not call the police. They offered to move us to another room, but what good does that do when you have to get up and on the road in a few hours? We would have been even more awake at that point. Cache Valley Electric had a bunch of workers staying there and we confirmed it was one of their employees that ruined our evening. Even though the staff was accommodating, they didn't seem to want to do everything they could to get the noise to stop. I assume this hotel has a contract with Cache Valley Electric for workers that are out in the area and they did not want to involve the police for this reason. I won't stay here again.
