Not only has she come out of her shell, she has developed more confidence and self-esteem. She is learning how to ride a horse, how to care for a horse, how to properly saddle a horse. Brooke has learned responsibility and respect for animals. Mrs. Peck takes a serious approach to teaching her students about horse riding and care. She starts with the basics of how to care for horses like brushing and grooming them, cleaning the face, using the correct body terms and how to saddle and tack up a horse and ready for riding. She takes safety, very seriously her no nonsense approach teaches children not only to respect an animal that weighs over 1000 pounds. But to have compassion and love for horses. Do not come to Peck Farms expecting this to be a pony ride experience, it is not. She will teach your child how to be responsible. She will teach your child how to take ownership of riding a horse from start to finish. She teaches with love and kindness and compassion, but she also wants to make sure that your child understands directions thoroughly and that they do not get hurt or hurt her horses. I am just a young person who would like to have a good positive experience outside of my life of schooling. Lastly, I felt misled at times. The owner often made promises regarding the quality of the lessons and the state of the facility that did not hold up during my visits. This inconsistency was disheartening and left me feeling as though I could not trust the information provided. In summary, I cannot recommend Pecks based on my experience. There are many other stables that prioritize both quality instruction and a well-maintained environment, and I urge anyone considering lessons to explore those options instead. Sadly there was some nonnative and a ton of invasive weeds such as the caster plant that castor oil is made from. Apparently the fruits of that plant are VERY toxic and can kill a human so I wish those plants were removed. Parking is very ample and it appears to be a hidden gem in some ways. This is a great riding center. Trainer Laura is amazing and she is so great with the students. She is patient and really teaches. All the school horses are are great and very well taken care of.. They teach/train all levels, from beginners to advanced. My daughter's riding has improved so much since starting here and she loves it. The pricing is very reasonable and I think you get so much more vs other riding schools/centers we've been too. All the staff is attentive and courteous. The barn area is always clean and organized. There are quite a few riding schools in the area and we checked them out. I am so happy we landed here. We love FFF!

We arrived there in about 1997 on the coat tails of horse trainer, riding teacher extraordinaire, Jim Frazier. A year or so later we bought a sweet Quarter horse named Margarita, "Maggie". who has been a treasure in our lives. A country property is always in need of maintenance; however, I totally disagree with Gail and her sour grapes comments. Gail and her family kept horses, multiple, at the ranch for MANY years so her comments reflect on her more than on ranch management. Our stall gets cleaned daily, the feed is very good Alfalfa twice daily and if your horse has special needs they can be accommodated. Tack rooms are provided, there are multiple arenas, 2 round pens, and 2 turn out areas. You have a choice of pipe corral with some cover, breezeway barn with lots of cover, box stalls, large pipe areas for more than one horse, and small box stalls for recuperating horses. The people who care for the horses are familiar with horse needs and sure to call if your horse needs attention. And, if you are a student raising a steer for the Faire you might find a spot for that critter , too.
