Even though we were just window shopping, the experience here was absolutely delightful. From the moment we walked in, Cihat warmly welcomed us and took the time to show us around without any pressure to buy. That alone says a lot about the kind of place this is. He patiently walked us through their collection and even shared helpful tips on cleaning and maintaining Turkish chandeliers and lamps, which was genuinely appreciated and very thoughtful as we had told him that we had purchased few in the past from a different store. The collection itself is stunning containing intricate Turkish lamps, chandeliers, and fine art pieces that are rich in color, craftsmanship, and detail. Each piece feels authentic and carefully curated, making it hard not to stop and admire every corner of the store. The artistry and quality on display truly stand out. One definitely feels welcomed, informed, and respected as a visitor, whether you're browsing or buying, at their store. If you're in Monterey, this is absolutely worth a visit even if it's just to admire the craftsmanship and soak in the charm of the space. A large selection of beautiful decorative items from Turkey. Wow, this shop is a must see, it's absolutely gorgeous! I ended up purchasing a Turkish chandelier and my experience with the transaction was nothing less than wonderful. The owner was very, respectful, friendly and made sure we were satisfied with our purchase before leaving. They packaged everything extremely well for us to take back to Sacramento. I stopped by what appeared to be a wonderful little shop on Cannery Row. They had a buy 3 get 1 free deal. I selected 2 $14 bracelets and 2 $12 hair clips. With the discount this should have been $40 plus tax. I paid in cash and did not count my change until exiting the store (an unfortunate mistake on my end). I did think it was not common practice that the employee completing the check out process did not tell me how much the total cost of my items were and gave me change with no receipt. I was charged $54.63 for the purchase. I returned and spoke to both owners of the store who informed me that the bracelets were $19 each. They gave me my receipt when I asked for it (which did not list the item by price only the total cost) and counted out the total for me. They overcharged me by $5 for each of the bracelets. I informed them that I believed I had selected bracelets from the $14 dollar section NOT the $19 section. The woman looked at me in the eyes and said, "Aww". From reading other reviews I understand that my experience is not unique. I felt taken advantaged of and could not return the items as all sales are final. read more

Five stars rating for this location! Fine Art Turkish Grand Bazaar has two locations in the area. This one is much better! This is the bigger one compared to the one in Carmel-By-The-Sea with more items displayed. The customer service lady in this location was excellent. She was very attentive and very helpful. The light fixtures are very beautifully designed and display in the store. Many other wonderful items in this store too. I am too overwhelmed with all the items they have in the store. Such a frustration with them I experienced today. First of all, I used to be their regular client. For over three years, I would buy things from them for gifts (rugs, ceramic bowls, souvenirs, hair pins, notebooks, etc. etc.). Secondly, they have another location in Carmel, where I used to also be a regular. Today, I purchased a souvenir from them in Carmel, and inquired if they had another one, they referred me to Monterey. I arrive to Monterey, and they name the price of $70!! instead of $30 same exact peacock! When I asked why there is such a difference, the owner states it was a mistake in Camel, the actual price is $70. I lift up the souvenir and see that the price tag does say $29.99. This is not the way one should do business. Especially with those who are your regulars, sending you customers all the time. Now, guess what, the tourist season is going to be over, I am sure you will survive, but I am NOT SENDING you any more people. This is a SHAME. People forget about any MORALS, they only see $$$ I am sorry I have spent so much money on the stuff that you are selling there which is overpriced. All that can be ordered online at AMAZON for way less money. I would not recommend this store to any one any more. This boutique has some of the most beautiful array of ceramics, lanterns, jewelry, evil eyes and more all imported straight from Turkey! We stopped by on a recent trip to Monterey and the bright color and intricate design of the Turkish lanterns immediately caught my attention and "called me in." We were greeted by the store owner that who was very pleasant and he gave me an evil eye as a complimentary gift. He asked if we had ever been to Turkey, which we haven't, and he used that as an opportunity to share with us a little bit about Turkish culture and the items in the store. There are lots of unique items within; my favorite were the lanterns and chess sets. If you live in the area or are traveling through, make to stop at this Bazaar. This is so incredibly reminiscent of the bazaars in Istanbul, and full of little treasures, so fun to browse around, I almost left and didn't buy anything, but at the very last minute, on a mannequin, was an incredible bathrobe. I'm not usually a bathrobe kinda person, but this one was remarkable: Turkish 100 % bathrobe multi-colored, seriously all the colors of the rainbow in this beauty. A hugely thick, plush, thing, reminiscent of Joseph and the multi colored robe fairy tale. It was pricey and honestly more than I would've ordinarily wanted to pay, but I'd never seen anything like this, and I'm a sucker for all things multi-colored and vibrant, plus the quality of it couldn't be beat. The owner is incredibly charming and entertaining ... his wife operates the business next door, Troya--Turkish delights and baklava, which we also got some stuff from. This store and its sister store across the street are beautiful shops in Monterey. The owner told us that he makes trips to Turkey twice a year and brings back these items. So cool. The owner was a bit of a schmoozer (which I find very off-putting) but he was very nice. My parents bought a tapestry and I bought a ring. I was hesitant at the price of the ring but the sale associate quickly came down in price (almost by half) when she saw my hesitation...I didn't know the prices were negotiable but - ok! After I got home, I noticed the ring turned my finger green for the first few times I wore it. I was super disappointed, since I know that means it was made with cheap metal. But now a few months later, the green stain has slowed so hopefully it's not made cheaply... I guess time will tell! A really cool place to browse - totally unique stuff! read more

This place has some of the cutest things. I love how detailed the art pieces are here. The things are not overly priced and there are a range of items to purchase here. This store has been on the row forever. Some of the pieces are unique and will catch anyone's eye if you were to have them in your home. Definitely something worth buying! Visiting my cousin we decided to see the Alamo and as we were walking this shop caught my eye. And I'm so glad it did! The owner was very nice and the products were amazing. He showed us his beautiful carpets that I would love to get but I wouldn't be able to carry to California sadly. This store (and its sister store across the street) are welcome additions to Cannery Row where the majority of stops are either tourist traps or restaurants. Fine Art Turkish Grand Bazaar is full of interesting and colorful items; chandeliers, boots and shoes, platters, bowls and jewelry. Everything is unique and of high quality so as one would expect, prices are a bit higher. Mom and I truly enjoyed browsing these stores and received friendly, attentive service from the two young women working at both stores. I really loved the unique peep toe pumps and asked about the price. I was told I could have a pair for $80, but sadly my size was not available. However, the associate mentioned their other store across the street had a larger selection so I headed on over. They did have my size, but I was given a higher price. I mentioned that the other associate had offered me the shoes for $80 and the associate said she would honor it. So far a terrific experience. What disappointed me and took this review from 5 to 2 stars were the actions of the owner. He walked into the store without so much as a greeting to mom and I, his customers, came straight to the counter to look over this associates shoulder and gruffly asked her what she was selling for $80. She explained to him that the other associate had offered me the shoes for $80 at which point he muttered something under his breath and walked out of the store, presumably to give the other associate a hard time. He came back in as we were completing our purchase and as we walked out, I could hear him berating the other associate for selling the shoes for $80. Had I not already completed my purchase, I would have left the shoes there. Not once did the owner acknowledge our presence or thank us for purchasing an item in his store. Honestly I think he glared at us. While I can understand that he was upset about the fact his associate offered an item at a lower price apparently without his approval, I did not ask for the discount and his behavior was inexcusable. In retail, customer service is key and if the owner of a store cannot hold his temper and actually treat his customers with just the smallest iota of respect, he doesn't deserve my business. As much as I loved the shoes I purchased as well as the colorful lead free platters the associate was showing me, I will not return to this establishment, the sister store across the street or his store in Carmel. While some items can be very costly, there are items that are within modest budgets for customers looking to acquire souvenirs. This place was very misleading! We walked in just wanting to look and we were bamboozled into buying a $400 lamp which on Amazon or Etsy was only $130 dollars. We were told that we would get the lightbulbs with the lamp which when we unpacked the box after we got home (out of state) there were no lightbulbs in it. This locals favorite shop. Grand Bazaar is my #1 go to for specialty gifts. I have shipped their high-quality unique and well priced items all over the world. Not to mention what I have in my own home. When I visit my loved ones the first thing they do is take me to see where they placed the gift and how much they enjoy it. It's nice to be able to give something truly beautiful and appreciated. Next door is what I call the yummy shop. Baklava and Turkish candies that are the best in the world melt in your mouth, ice cream's from Turkey, true Turkish coffee's. First she tells us we cant take a picture of this hanging glass chandelier that we were interested in purchasing when everyone else there were taking pictures. The glass here is pretty, but the woman working there today turned us off from purchasing anything. She started by yelling at us for taking a picture. Then she stalked around the shop, keeping an eye on us without ever saying another word. We felt uncomfortable, and ultimately left without getting to explore much of the shop at all, simply because of how we were treated. I bought a not-cheap clothing item here in summer & washed it according to instructions but it shrank so small a child wouldn't be able to wear it. I called and spoke with one of the owners who assured me they sold those items for 10+ years and this never happened before. He explained they do not give refunds but he offered to exchange it by mail since i live out of town. when i tried to connect to FaceTime (@ his suggestion) to select a replacement, he repeatedly did not answer nor return my calls.
