This place rocks! They have everything a consumer would need from a sporting goods or athletic…read moreapparel company under their roof. This was my initial visit, and now I know why Scheels has such an excellent reputation. Customer service was great, and the inventory had a range of pricing and options. I was extremely impressed and will return.

I've visited twice before, today was my 3rd & final time. I never find what I need, ever…read more Pros: * The store is enormous, 2 floors & there are 14,000,000,000 things in this store. Great selection/colors of everything for so many sports or leisure, including camping. * Great quality & brands. Everything looks like it's built to last, including clothing, backpacks & coolers. You'll recognize all of the brands. Cons: * Never find anything I need, even if checking the website first & it assures me there are 3, 5, 8 in stock. I always leave empty-handed, after searching through the store for 30-min. * $$$Cost$$$. I'm jealous of the high school/college aged kids I see buying $90 sports bras, $75 shorts & $200+ backpacks. I'm sure everything will hold up for along time, but I don't need a $200 backpack to hold my $15 of items... it's the same reason I don't buy designer handbags. Well, that & lack of affordability. * Employees are either really helpful or miserable. I won't go through a long diatribe, but just say that the item I needed required asking SIX people, all who sent me to different ends of the store (I need foot surgery & am in pain, so it's a big deal). Even though I told them all that, they had me go upstairs, downstairs & back again twice & to all ends of the store. One finally said, "No one knows where anything is. They move it all the time." Didn't find what I needed. No one could tell me anything about it. One told me to shop online. Nice... In addition, the woman in the shoe dept was steaming mad that I didn't buy a pair of sneakers, after making me wait 15-min so she could find a few pairs for me & trying on 4. Sorry, none were comfy on my aching foot. I told her TY a few times, she said nothing, turned her back on me & walked away, leaving everything behind. I was further annoyed that she told me nothing when I asked what people wore for bone spurs cuz I'm sure she's encountered them before or gotten feedback. The other sales person, a man, was delightfully helpful with his customer, telling her about the shoes, function, recommending pairs. Wish I'd encountered him first. Grumpy face didn't want to waste her time on me. I've worked retail, too, girl, get over yourself. How 'bout selling makeup, doing a makeover & having the person just scurry away, cuz they didn't want to buy, they just wanted a free makeover. I still treated them with respect. That's your JOB. I hate this place. Especially dismal, arrogant customer service which I encounter every single time. I'll find another store. 0* out of 5.

I'm in the process of cleaning out a storage locker because they keep raising my rent on it…read more.. A couple items I had in storage were sports related. A 10.5 ft Viper kayak (used a couple of times) and a kayak cart (still new in box). I decided to take both into Play It Again Sports. I didn't really want to deal with selling them privately on eBay (local pick up), Craigslist, or FB Marketplace. Play It Again Sports is the only place I know of to sell stuff like this other than a normal consignment shop (Stuff Etc. or a different place like that). If you are a seller they will give you cash or in store credit. The in store credit offer will be more than the cash offer. The kayak was purchased for $240ish new a few years ago. The gentlemen I was dealing with at Play It Again Sports said they'd sell it for around $100... Offered me $50 The kayak cart was purchased for $40. Was still new in box... They said they'd give me $7 If you don't mind the back and forth messages with possible buyers. People lowballing you. Having to arrange to meet someone...who may or may not show up, etc. Selling privately might be a better option for you... As far as putting the maximum amount of cash in your pocket...selling privately is definitely going to be the better way to go Like I said... I didn't want to deal with the hassle of selling these privately so I took their offer. At least it paid for dinner that night for my son and I... So you know what to expect... As a buyer you can probably plan on getting a used item for half off new retail. Maybe less if the item has been sitting for a LONG time. As a seller Play It Again Sports is probably going to sell your used item for half of new retail, and offer you half of that in cash (25%ish of new retail). It's a great resource to have to get rid of unneeded sports items. You at least get a little money back v. donating the items to Goodwill, etc. To wrap things up... I found the staff here to be polite and great to work with. I dropped in with no call ahead and the process was simple and easy. If you have sports equipment to get rid of maybe slide in and check them out... Doesn't cost you anything but time. Don't like the offer you can always say no and choose to go in another direction. If you are a parent looking to save a buck... Definitely stop in!

Can't say how happy I am with the shop. It was definitely full, but clean with great friendly service. We had a great experience!

This is the epitome of awful service. I'm not sure if it is the standard ageism we get everywhere,…read morebut it is sooo hard to find anyone to help us. We came in this morning at about 11:00, spotted these Timberland City Blazers my husband fell for. Waited 10-15 minutes for someone to help, and every time we flagged either of the 2 employees, mostly playing on their phones, they'd duck and hide or go into the back. We walked around to look for the boots at other stores for about an hour, and after we couldn't find them, we came back to see if we could get some help a second time. Stood around for another 10 minutes this time, before leaving again to find them at Jordan Creek. To no avail, we came back to the store a third time. We stood around for 5 minutes and we were *finally* able to grab someone. When we waved him over, there was no greeting, just "what?". Absolutely ridiculous. We bought the boots because we couldn't even find the same color online, and we'd done our fair share trying to find a similar style/brand elsewhere today. After this, we'll never be back.

They were on sale and they had multiple options.. So I asked the 2 guys standing around if they had these particular shoes in my size. They both kinda looked at each other like "you want help him?" Nobody was jumping to the opportunity to help me. Finally after pulling teeth one of them went to the back, I asked the other one how his day was going, and he kinda was staring into space and didn't even realize I was talking to him! HELLO am I invisible in here or what! Finally the other guy came out, and naturally the largest options they had were 11 1/2! I have wore adidas shoes in a size 12 since I was a freshman in high school I knew that is what I needed and these were not going to work. The guy kinda scoffed off when I said it was a no go. Bummed they didn't have my size, as the shoes were cool and at a great price, but man that service was not nice!
