I have had them service/work on, a Camaro, Camary, Explorer, Ram and Tacoma. I had taken my Tacoma to a popular tire place in Iowa City to have an alignment and tires mounted as I have a 3" lift on my truck, and they were willing to do it.(Archies could not due to the lift) Huge mistake! I left there with a light of low tire coming on. Took it back and they told me I needed a whole new computer panel(?)- the thing under the dash where they find what is wrong. I took it to Archies..false! I did NOT need a new item; they had loosened the wire in the back of that piece and all it needed was to be plugged back in! We had a great experience at Skay Automotive last week. They had very favorable reviews on both Yelp! and Google, so we knew we needed to give them a try. Conveniently located within walking distance of our house; even better! We're still pretty new to the Iowa City area after moving here from Cedar Rapids a couple of months ago. We were unable to get into our former mechanic back in CR because of a 3-week wait. This prompted us to tell ourselves that it was just time to find someone in Iowa City. Who wants to commute 40 minutes when you have a car issue? A tire on our Mazda CX-5 had a leak. My husband called Skay on a Tuesday and they were able to get us in for an appointment a couple of days later. We dropped off the car the night before said appointment and used one of their overnight deposit envelopes for our key. Envelopes were great because you could fill it out according to what you wanted to have the mechanics inspect. Vehicle was ready to be picked up before 10am the next morning. The mechanic(s) pulled a screw out of my tire, repaired the tire and completed an oil change. So happy my tire was saved! At our request they also checked the condition of our brakes. More than fair prices. We appreciated the breakdown of the services they performs and everything was printed on our invoice. The reviews are true! Skay will be our top pick for automotive repairs going forward. Highly recommend.
