The best place in the area to take you vehicle, if you want quality work and honesty. I have been taking my vehicles to Archies for over 8 years. I have had them service/work on, a Camaro, Camary, Explorer, Ram and Tacoma. I had taken my Tacoma to a popular tire place in Iowa City to have an alignment and tires mounted as I have a 3" lift on my truck, and they were willing to do it.(Archies could not due to the lift) Huge mistake! I left there with a light of low tire coming on. Took it back and they told me I needed a whole new computer panel(?)- the thing under the dash where they find what is wrong. I took it to Archies..false! I did NOT need a new item; they had loosened the wire in the back of that piece and all it needed was to be plugged back in! Archies saved me a headache and ton of money...as that was no charge as all they did was plug it back in! I highly recommend for honesty and quality service! read more

I took my car in for an oil change due to the plug being too stripped to get off, they had me out about an hour later and for the labor only charged $10. I was expecting to be there longer and have a much higher charge so really appreciated their honesty and communication along the way. read more

My sister came to this mechanic shop to get her oil changed. These unprofessional "men", I say "men" because no real man acts like this, they saw a young professional woman and proceeded to try and take advantage of her because of her gender and age. They asked her if she was in college and I can only assume that if she was they would have tried to do more unnecessary work. They began working on her car before she had approved any of the proposed work, like hundreds of dollars worth, they didn't give her any option to leave or get another opinion. I have NEVER in my life seen such incredible audacity, I am absolutely disgusted by this place of business. You should be ashamed of yourselves and I highly recommend no one come to this shop again, my sister deserves a refund and an apology from every single person who works there. read more

Took my wife's SUV in for the "medium dog" auto detailing package. The vehicle emerged shiny and like-new. They cleaned out every nook and cranny on the interior and exterior. I have been here for an oil change before and went into Archie's again for a routine oil change. About halfway through I saw the technicians (plural because they were all standing around) pointing at my front wheels and laughing. They also were heavily vaping while fixing my car. After an hour they called me in to look at the front brakes and rotors. I agreed that they looked like they need replaced so we went back to talk about pricing. The man at the front desk said we can do both front breaks and rotors with the oil change for $504. I said I would make some calls and let them know. The man at the front desk said that they could price match with any other offer that I received. After calling around for approximately 5 minutes I noticed that that price was very high. I went up to the desk and asked them if I could just stick with the oil change this time and figure out my brakes later. He basically said that if I drove away my brakes would fail and cost me a lot more money. After asking multiple times if I could just wait they told me their technicians had already started and they couldn't stop. After arguing with Ron about the price for 20 minutes he kept insulting me and saying he didn't understand what I was after. Then he told me that the price was $583 which is $79 more than what they originally told me. He also said there was no way they would price match after his employee told me that he could. I asked if they could use something other than ceramic and they said that was all they had when the name of their business is Archies BRAKE & quick lube. When I left the shop after 2.5 hours my car was worse than when I went in. They messed up my sensors and my Auto Stop-Start does not work. I will need to take my car in to another auto shop which is going to cost more. All in all they absolutely screwed me for the price of new rotors and brakes. They also have terrible customer service and were trying to take advantage of me as a young woman. They asked if I was in college and when I told them I wasn't their whole demeanor changed. I WILL NOT be returning to Archie's and I would HIGHLY not recommend it to anyone in the area. read more

Took my suv in because the headlight was out. Again. We tried to put in a new headlight about 6 months ago and it was not easy. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the light adjusted right and they were too high. Took it in to Archie's without an appointment and they were super friendly. I explained my problem. They fixed the burned out light, showed me how it looked and then fixed the light that we replaced. Took less than 45 minutes. The waiting room was very clean and comfortable. While I was there a gentleman came in with his young daughter. The man behind the counter brought over a little treasure box and asked the gentleman if it was ok to offer his daughter a toy from their treasure box. He said every child who comes in is offered the choice of a toy from the box. They've totally earned my business for all of our vehicles. read more
