When he arrived, he noticed my hose was almost impossible to remove, something I didn't even realize was an issue. Even though it wasn't his responsibility, he went above and beyond to fix it so he could connect his equipment. He worked incredibly hard on it, stayed later than planned, and never charged me anything extra for the delay. I really appreciated his willingness to help. A bit of a story behind this one, because it was a bit of a slow start but with a very happy…read moreending. I had met with five different contractors for my bathroom shower project. The prices from each were all within a similar range. I tend to avoid the least expensive and steer clear of the most unless I have the budget for it. Ray came in with a fair price and a professional demeanor. He understood what had to be done, and he was confident he could provide exactly what I envisioned. I was impressed that he also was able to get the job started quickly and did his best to accommodate my timeline. As a contractor, he has several sub contractors who work for him. In his desire to get my job going ASAP, he sent two subs that were not his best. He had used them before and they had done very nice work. Unfortunately for me, they did not, and they had to demo the tiles they had put in unevenly, scrap them and start from scratch. Since Ray was just as surprised and appalled by their work, in a gesture of courtesy, he absorbed the cost of the new tiles and added a free, custom built shower niche to make up for the mishap. He was diplomatic and reliable which is rare in Florida. He also asked for my patience so as to time it to bring in his BEST contractor, Andreas, who is a literal magician! Not only is Andreas so amazingly talented, but can do literally ANYTHING quickly, confidently and flawlessly. The final product is perfection! Ray even came with me to pick out the tiles that he paid for and Andreas is top tier, both taking pride in their work, which is ALWAYS of primary importance since I believe it's pride and passion for what you do, that eternally creates the most spectacular of things. So, ultimately, though it took a little extra time, it was well worth it. Ray stepped up and made it right, I have to say he is dependable, communicative and made me a very happy customer! My one bit of advice would be to work on HIS timeline so he has the opportunity to bring in his best guys to your job. I took this service based on the reviews and all I can say is that I question the validity of the information posted. The painter showed up 1 hour late and did not even have a bucket. The work was not completed in the 6.5 hours and the supplies I purchased based on Victor's request, were not even used, the painter did not even have a ladder to reach the ceiling. In order to complete, I was offered $40 per hour until the job was completed - an additional 5 hours past the scheduled 6.5 hours. The quality is just below average and the deal was actually a "lemon," I spoke to Alex in the office several times during the course of the day and he relayed messages between Victor, the Painter and Myself. I did not talk to Victor - although he was the person that I initiated the job and deal with. Victor could not be reached, even though the painter said he spoke to his boss - Victor several times during the day. Unfortunately, this company is all talk....hustling $$$ from hard working people, throwing out deals and not completing with the intent of selling add on hours. Low level of accountability from the owner who will not even try to speak to a concerned customer. Instead of getting this one right, Reef Tropical Cleaning and Services got this one drastically wrong.
