I work for an international development organization called Seva Canada (www.seva.ca), and Finisterra led an amazing 3 week custom tour to Nepal for a group of our donors. Seva's work brings eye care to the poor, who live in remote and rural areas -- and getting to these remote areas is extremely challenging. Therefore the travel on this particular trip could have been difficult, but Rob and Aili handled everything superbly, and ensured the group was comfortable, engaged, and inspired the entire time. Rob and Aili were beyond knowledgeable, helpful, organized, easy going and overall great to work with. They handled every detail with care, and ensured that everyone on the trip had a fabulous experience, with meals thoughtfully arranged, sightseeing seamlessly organized, and lots of Seva program visits facilitated. Their depth of knowledge about Nepal, its people, culture, economy and history ensured that every person who attended came home not only having enjoyed a great holiday, but also having learned a great deal about this fascinating country. I'm a teacher and Finisterra organized our 18-student Biology field trip to the Galapagos Islands and the Ecuadorian Amazon. It was billed as the ultimate Biology trip, and it far surpassed our expectations. The organization was amazing. The pre-trip planning, meals, accommodations, and the guides - everything was professional and ran incredibly smoothly. Keri, our guide, brought so much energy, knowledge, and FUN to the trip. Our students loved her. From snorkelling with sea lions and hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos, to canoeing through the Amazon with monkeys in the trees above, the wildlife was unbelievable. Other highlights include climbing into the canopy to see birds and even a sloth, a night-time jungle walk in search of nocturnal creatures, and a traditional meal in an indigenous village. We straddled the equator in Quito, and in the Galapagos we swam, surfed, snorkelled and mountain biked, in addition to viewing the amazing wildlife and learning about Biology. The detail of the organization, along with Keri's experience as a guide, made the entire process easy for the teachers. It truly was the trip of a lifetime, for staff and students. We are using Finisterra again for another trip to Ecuador this year, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. read more

My husband and I just came back from our private tour in Peru arranged by Finisterra Travel. We had always planned/scheduled/booked all our trips ourselves until now, so this was our first time trying an organized tour. Keri Montgomery of Finisterra developed an amazing 13 day Biology field trip to Ecuador which included touring Quito, and exploring the Galápagos Islands and the Ecuadorian Amazon. As a group of 18 students and two teachers, we enjoyed her expertise, enthusiasm and outgoing personality. Accompanying us, she dealt with all aspects of the travel, our meals, and our accommodations - which left us entirely free to enjoy the many sights and activities. We saw and heard a myriad of fantastic animals, birds, insects and fish. We explored, trekked, snorkelled, biked, boated, climbed above the canopy, and visited the Sani Community. A few days ago, I returned from the most beautiful, exciting unique art retreat in Central Mexico, organized and attended by Keri of Finisterra Travel. I spent some time in Central Mexico with Keri and a group of ambitious painters on a recent painting retreat with artist Laura Harris. Keri found us an amazing 450 year old hacienda to stay in.
