It was the most enjoyable time we had in a long time…read more Comfortable seats, good drinks, great food (and plenty of it), and most importantly, James and Hilary. Enough can not be said about these two. They were funny, serious, polite, friendly and a joy to have in charge of our Gold Leaf car

Let's see what happens when I try to use the expensive insurance they sold me. Let's see what exclusions get them out of paying. They also seem to have a history of putting their customers on buses when it suits them, whether it's freight trains get priority or there is a labor action. So you spend tens of thousands of dollars for a very low rent experience. My own experience is this: I paid for two gold leaf seats plus insurance since once you purchase, you are stuck. I wonder why the strictest no cancellation policy? We ride the train one day. You have to get up at the crack of dawn to board, get the train does not depart immediately. We can sit in our seats or go to a viewing platform. We are fed in shifts. The food is ordinary. If you like to drink, this is your train. You cannot walk the train from car to car. You are restricted to your car. We arrive at the end of our day at a rail yard where we are put on big low rent buses and taken to one or two star hotels as ordinary and unappealing as can be. Certainly not gold leaf. We again have to wake up at the crack of dawn to be taken by the same awful buses back to the rail yard where we sit for 4 hours while they feed us breakfast in the rail yard then tell us that we will be riding those awful buses for the rest of the day to Vancouver. We are on the highway. We are fed Pringles, Twizzlers and Oreos with warm bottled water. We stay at a truck stop gas station where 600 people line up to pee and buy their own food. Reading previous reviews, this is not the first time this has happened. This outfit is all marketing. Don't fall for it. If you want to ride a train, book the national trains. I am still waiting to hear from their guest service center after the CEO sent out her email apologizing and saying they will be in touch. And if they offer me a coupon for a future trip, they can go to hell.
