The bartender continued to carry on a conversation with other customers while I waited patiently to be recognized. He eventually came over and stood in front of me without speaking (warning sign number two). I requested a beer menu which he pointed out was on the wall. He kindly let me sample 2 beers. I requested a wine menu for my wife and he listed the varietals available. I inquired about the cost of the Pinot Grigio. He apparently had to go find the the manager and came back to tell me the price of the Sauvignon blanc. I politely pointed out that I wanted the price of the Pinot. He seemed visibly frustrated (as he looked like it was a burden for him to walk that much) and had to go find the manager again. He poured the beer and opened the bottle, throwing away the cork. I asked about the possibility of corking the leftover and he seemed to fish the cork out of the trash, pushing it back into the bottle without offering a wine glass (the third warning sign). I gave him my credit card and as he rang up the sale, I inquired about setting up a tab since he didn't offer to do so as most bartenders will. This was clearly too much for this poorly trained millennial and he again had to get assistance from the manager. Not being able to control himself, he muttered "I guess he's never been to a bar before" loud enough for me to hear, obviously upset that I did not request a tab before he rang in the sale. I asked him to repeat what he said. He of course had misplaced his cajones by then and denied saying anything. The manager, looking like Large Marge from Pee-wee's Big Adventure, naturally failed to try and resolve the situation and took back the drinks without giving my credit card back until asked. I sarcastically thanked them for their customer service and went to leave. Naturally, one of their few regulars had to throw in his 2 cents in and followed me outside. This little bald man with his pit bull said that "maybe the problem is you". I replied "maybe" and walked away with my wife. He followed behind making fun of my wife's gait (she limps from prior surgery for bone cancer) and threatening to push her over. As he was obviously all talk and no action, I ignored him as we walked over to the Canon Commons for the concert. Of course he also showed up there, but by then he also had misplaced his man parts and didn't approach us. So a word of warning to potential new visitors - DON'T.

The establishment is old and has dark wood from top to bottom, covered in Irish decor. We sat in a secluded area that honestly felt like we were on a boat. I got a Guiness on draft (because you HAVE to when you're at an Irish bar, right?). It was smooth and frothy. We got the pretzel bites and beer cheese (really good) and fried pickles. I got a french dip sandwich - which was on soft toast which made it really hard to dip in the au juis with fries (which were really cripsy and flavorful). Honestly, I've had better dip sandwiches so I wouldn't get it again however they have a very large menu and lots of Irish favorites. Will go back to the establishment for something else. Street parking- didn't see any private flat lot however there is a parking garage about a block away available. Service was good, no complaints.

The bartender Brenda was awesome super friendly and was busting her butt. I got an old fashioned which was very good. I ordered the Shepherds Pie (half order) and it was very good. On the side I got McDoogal balls which were unique but they were good as well. I end the night with an excellent Irish Coffee. Greta value and good food. Definitely would go back and recommend you try it as well.

They had the door open, which was letting in the fresh almost-spring air.) Drinks are pretty much all they have at Snug, to be honest. Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

There have been multiple times over the course of the last several months that we've had ordering issues with both for carry out, as well as a horrible experience at the craft house. Most recently, we've tried ordering carry out from the pub house and have not been successful any time. We understand the kitchen closes an hour before the restaurant closes and have ordered well before this time frame. It seems like the online ordering may shut down 3 hours before the kitchen closes, which is what we experienced tonight. The cherry on top was calling in to place our carry out order at 915pm (kitchen closes at 11pm tonight) - someone answered (and we were like "yay!") but then were put on hold, waited for 15 min and tried to call back for the next hour and 15 min and no one answered no matter what option we selected. So what I've been able to deduce from these multiple experiences is Murphy's doesn't like carry out traffic and isn't willing to take money from local fans. It's one thing if your website says "ordering stops at 7pm" - we'd order prior to 7pm. But when it says "kitchen closes 1 hour before closing" and nothing else about carry out, no warning while preparing our order that we wouldn't be able to place the order (like other local establishments provide) or employees who could answer the phone and easily say what the actual rules are - like "I know it says online the kitchen closes 1 hour before closing but we actually stop taking carryout orders 3 hours before the kitchen closes" - then we'd be informed and be able to operate in a manner where we understand what the boundaries are. I've had business dealings with this business and it's not surprising they are as or more disorganized on the customer side as they are on the actual business side. I reached out to the owner tonight and received no response. I hope this review helps take business away from Murphy's pub house. Since we aren't allowed to give them our business, maybe no one should.

It didn't smell clean at all, but I decided to try it anyway. I opted for the large breaded pork tenderloin (10ounce) with fries and a side of 5-cheese Mac and cheese. Food was served quickly. The tenderloin was clearly a greasy one from the moment I laid eyes on it. I cut it in half to make a double-decker out of it, and half of the breading came off. When I picked up that half to stack it on the sandwich, the rest came off. I put it back together the best I could and gave it a try. The tenderloin was both greasy and tough- it was like biting into a pork chop. There was nothing "tender" about it. Fries were ok, with lot of seasoning salt on them. The Mac and cheese was both hot and cold at the same time- it definitely came from the microwave. The waitress was nice and attentive. $23 total.
