One of the more bizarre dining experiences I've had with my wife. We had a 7:00 p.m. reservation on a Saturday and were seated promptly. Initially, service was fine. We ordered fried green tomatoes, which were delicious, and both wanted a Sauvignon Blanc with our appetizer. We ordered the only Sauvignon Blanc available by the glass. About 10 minutes later, we were told they were out of it, although another Sauvignon Blanc was available by the bottle. We didn't want a bottle, so my wife ordered the waitress's recommendation of the Pinot Grigio by the glass. I decided I was having steak and ordered a Pinot Noir instead. Another 10 minutes passed. My Pinot arrived, but we were then told they were also out of the Pinot Grigio. At that point, the waitress apologized and offered my wife a complimentary glass of the Sauvignon Blanc normally sold only by the bottle because we'd waited so long and unsuccessfully tried to order two different wines. Eventually her wine arrived and we ordered dinner. My wife ordered the scallops and sweet potato casserole. I ordered the prime rib with mushrooms and roasted potatoes. About 20 minutes later, our food arrived. Mine looked great: prime rib, mushrooms and potatoes. My wife received sweet potato casserole and scalloped potatoes--but no scallops. I asked if we were still waiting on the scallops and was told yes. Since my entire hot dinner was now sitting in front of me, I confirmed again. Yes, they were coming. About 10 minutes later, our waitress returned and apologized. Apparently the scallops had never actually been ordered. She said they would be ready in about five minutes and would be complimentary. So I sat there staring at my dinner, waiting to eat with my wife. Another 15 minutes or so passed before the manager finally brought the scallops. They were good. He apologized and offered me another glass of wine on the house, which I accepted since I'd now spent roughly 25 minutes waiting with my dinner sitting in front of me. We finished irritated, but were still hoping for dessert. We have little kids and only get out together every couple of months, so we were trying to salvage the evening. Instead, we essentially got, "Anything else before you go?" I guess not. Then the bill arrived. Every single thing we'd specifically been told was complimentary was on it. My wife's scalloped potatoes--which she never ordered--were on it. Her Sauvignon Blanc, offered complimentary after they couldn't fulfill either of her first two wine orders, was on it. The scallops, which we were explicitly told were on the house after they forgot to order them, were on it. And the additional glass of wine the manager offered me because I'd spent 25 minutes watching my dinner get cold was on it. At that point I said there were quite a few discrepancies with the bill. Our waitress agreed and said she'd get the manager. She returned without the manager and handed us a revised bill. One glass of wine and the unordered scalloped potatoes had been removed. I never saw the manager again. We never got dessert. We paid and left. That's what made the experience so frustrating. There were things we genuinely liked. The fried green tomatoes were excellent, the food itself was generally good, and our waitress seemed genuinely apologetic. But being out of multiple wines by the glass, forgetting an entrée, bringing a side that wasn't ordered, leaving one person's entire dinner sitting on the table for 25 minutes, offering complimentary items to make up for those mistakes, and then charging us for them anyway is an astonishing series of failures for one dinner. We went out expecting a nice Saturday night together. Instead, the entire evening became an exercise in figuring out what was available, what had actually been ordered, what was still coming, and finally what we were actually supposed to be paying for. Anderson is hiding this place. If you're up for the drive for some tasty steak, give this place a try. I have eaten here twice now, once a group of us on a Thursday night and another on. Friday night; service has been great. I have ordered the Tomahawk and shared it with a friend, it's worth trying! The burgers are made to order. The restrooms are clean and include refreshing mouth rinse. There is a free parking lot available next to the restaurant. Cons/ tables are too close together and it makes it difficult for servers to get around and it is hard to have conversations at your table. We were delighted to find, in downtown Anderson, a restaurant of this caliber We had tickets to the Paramount Theatre, a two block walk from the "old bus station" where the restaurant was located We had reservations, a good thing as they had no open seating Our waiter was well trained and offered suggestions. As a result I tried a Bullet bourbon, special barrel, that was very nice. My husband had the Bloody Mary My husband had his heart fixed on a 42 ounce pork chop. I agreed to share. Two sides and a wedge. The wedge was like a head of lettuce with blue cheese, bacon and tomato quarters. Very fresh and nice Our waiter warned us that a party of 36 was upstairs and wanted to take our dinner right away. We wanted to enjoy our drinks first. He tried to work it out but I have to admit we felt rushed Next was our pork. To me it was a plate of lard. It was pork back and a small pork chop. The pork back was all fat and about 1/3 of the chop was fat I could not eat it and my husband said it was good. (I think to save face because he had longed for a big pork chop.) The sides were sweet potato casserole and broccoli rabe. Sweet potato was to sweet to enjoy and broccoli was swimming in garlic butter Neither was good When the waiter asked how we enjoyed our meal, I asked if always that fat. He apologized and said I am afraid so. I told him how much I disliked it but my husband ate some of it and thought it was good My husband said to bring a desert menu since I ate so little. The waiter suggested the carrot cake and then asked if we wanted to go. We said no and wanted coffee to enjoy with it He brought lovely fresh press coffee. Poured it and then started clearing our table. I asked if he was hurrying us and said just trying to stay ahead of the crowd $200 check our expectations we're not met but we feel there are better meats on the menu and will try again. I will start with positives and anyone who cares to read the rest of the way through can see why I gave it only two star. Starting with the ambience, the restaurant was very nicely done up aesthetically. I will say I think for as much as they are charging, we could probably remove a table or two from the middle section and space the tables out a little bit. We were to close next to each other For that type of environment, but it was a beautiful restaurant inside. The service was really pretty great as long as we don't talk about the manager. The house were very pleasant to interact with. Our server was very friendly and checked in on us many times and got us things we needed before asking. Other weight staff was always nearby if we needed something and people were Collecting dishes from our table promptly. The manager came by to fix our undercooked steak, but never checked back, and I would say never really went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. As far as the food part goes, I am pretty disappointed. We started out with the candy bacon, fried green tomatoes, escargot, and crab cakes. The candy bacon had great flavor, but I would hardly call the meat bacon. It was more like thick ham that had maple syrup on it. The fried green tomatoes were great. The escargot sauce tasted like eating straight garlic. The crabcakes were burnt and the sauce they put with it is Way too spicy and takes away from the flavor of the crabcake. For an entrée, I had the dry aged ribeye with sweet potatoes and onion rings. The dry aged ribeye came out undercooked. It was raw when it was supposed to be medium rare. It did not have a good sear on it, nor was it at temp. I might be ignorant to dry aged steaks, but there was hardly any seasoning or flavor to the steak outside of the dry age part. This stake really could've been elevated with some seasoning of some sort on it. I shouldn't have to pay extra for some sort of sauce to actually make it good. The sweet potato casserole was very tasty but more like a dessert than a side as was very sweet. The onion rings were perfect as they had good flavor and good crunchiness to them. The dessert menu had a lot of things to offer, but I saved my appetite for a different spot. For as much as I paid for this restaurant, I would expect better, but maybe I just was the one customer who got the one bad off experience that night. My My My...LOOK AT ANDERSON! They have this new Steakhouse in Downtown Anderson. We happened to just stumble upon this after doing some errands in Anderson (where I don't live). I had heard that they were sprucing up the DT area and just wanted to see what has been done when we saw this really nice building and it said Steak House, well they had me at that point. We immediately parked (free parking in a lot) and walked in. We were taking a risk because it was around 6pm on a Friday and we didn't have reservations. When we walked up they didn't have any tables but said they could sit us at the downstairs bar or for a little quieter the upstairs bar. Wow two bars? We chose the upstairs bar. The server that was up there was extremely nice. She wasn't very busy up there so she gave us tons of attention. The menu is great! Many options even if you aren't a beef eater and the bonus is it is reasonable prices. When are food came out it was hot and simply amazing! Hands down one of the best steaks I have had. They also have a sweet potato option which is really good, I recommend getting it, but you won't need dessert after it! I will be making the trip back to Anderson just to go here (with reservations). It was pretty busy so there seems to be a lot of excitement about this place. I also learned they have one in Muncie as well. read more

Anderson's best kept secret! Stepping into this place screams fancy. From the lighting to the rustic decor. Hands down our favorite steak house in the state. Don't want to travel downtown or to the northside of town? Anderson Indianas hidden gem is where to go. We've had date nights, birthdays and company meetings at Lahodys. Everything on the menu is amazing. From the broccolini or asparagus to the tomahawk ribeye! Desert is excellent as well. Service is always phenomenal whether you sit at the bar or at a table. This was our first visit to the new downtown Anderson steakhouse. It will not be the last! Dinner reservations on a Thursday evening gave us a nice table. It has an upscale vibe, with excellent service. We ordered fried green tomatoes for the appetizer, which tasted great with the sauce provided. All meat was cooked to perfection, and seasoned well. We went right about 4:30 because we were in Anderson and had not eaten lunch, thought we would have a nice meal early! I wish that I could remember our servers name, she was the best part of our experience! We started with what was to be candied bacon! Well , it was undercooked pork belly with syrup poured over it, and very fatty. We both had trout for dinner. It was good quality fish for sure, fresh and mild was cooked to perfect temp, however, it had no flavor. Think it would have been much better encrusted with something and more seasonings. The Brussel sprouts were overcooked and ridiculously salty. The risotto was cooked perfectly, but incredibly bland.my husband had sweet potato casserole it had great flavor , but a bit gooey, the street corn had great flavor , but the corn was tough and would be much better with a younger peg corn for tenderness. Sadly, we had high expectations, and they were not even close to being met. The manager was milling around and never bothered to even say hello or great us and see if we needed anything. $130 before tip and our server got 25% because she was the best part of our experience! The French Onion Soup had great cheese, however the broth was almost just water, no flavor. My strip steak was the worse steak I have ever had anywhere. There is a great difference between marbled and excessive fat and gristle. With tip our bill was a little more than $140. We have eaten at the restaurant in Muncie with positive experience. Went here for my birthday dinner tonight. Our server Issac was great! We had read reviews that stated that the service was slow but this was a packed night and our food was perfectly timed between appetizers, salads and main courses. We were about 15 minutes early and we were immediately taken to our table upstairs by the host. We ordered Shrimp Cocktail, Caesar salad for starters and for our main dishes we had the NY strip and Prime Rib. I had the Risotto and au gratin potatoes for my sides. My son had fries and a baked potato and my boyfriend had broccolini and the au gratin potatoes. We took our desserts home because we were all three were stuffed. We ordered the chocolate cake, carrot cake and raspberry cheesecake. The NY Strips were all tender and perfectly seasoned. My prime rib was thick and tender. The risotto was maybe the best I've ever had. So good! I can't wait to go back and try more off the menu. read more

One of the best meals I have ever had! We had a party of 6, so we all ordered different things and took turns sharing. I personally had the center cut filet, risotto, and skillet corn. I also had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. It was all truly amazing, I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu!! Had a great time with my friends at Ron Lahody's in Anderson. The service was outstanding. The atmosphere was very enjoyable and the food was great. What a great first time experience. Kaiden was our waiter and he was excellent! Very attentive and accommodating. (Unfortunately I didn't get the gal's name who seated us, but she was also an excellent first impression and set a great tone for our dinner. We arrived around 5:45pm on Thursday, Sept 11 so maybe this will help in identifying who she is.) 5 in our party and we all ordered the $5 burger special. One also ordered the wedge salad, which was deemed as very very good. I added onion rings and they were excellent. Others ordered fries and they raved about how good they were. All burgers were cooked perfectly and were oh so good. I had the Old Fashioned with Maple cocktail and Kaiden was very helpful with order recommendations, as I'm not super familiar with Bourbons. Highly highly recommend this cocktail!!! Other cocktails ordered were Lemon Drop Martini and Strawberry Daquiri. Both were very good. We tried this steakhouse out and were a little disappointed. Went on a Thursday and there was supposed to be a 10 dollar burger special ... nope. So the burger was 18 dollars with no fries, extra dollar for cheese, 2 dollars for bacon ... so this turned into a $22 burger and then to add fries was an additional $7 dollars ... so now we are up to $29 dollars for a burger with fries! Ridiculous in my opinion, the burger was burnt to top it all off! I highly doubt we will go back. Our gentleman server was pretty nonchalant about the whole dining experience. read more
