We ordered: Pulled Pork Piglet Sandwich w/ Green Beans, Cole Slaw, & Sweet Tea $10.75 ($11.61 w/ 8% tax, $13.22 w/ 15% tip) *Lighter and more mild flavors in all of these Beef Brisket Piglet Sandwich w/ Corn Casserole, Mashed Potatoes w/ Beef Gravy, & Lemonade (same prices as above) *All of these were favorites and the most flavorful of the day The food was ready in under 6min after ordering and we were in and out in under 30min while sitting down for lunch and taking our time to eat around noon on a Friday. If you're unsure of the spicy, they have spicy sauce on the table to try, but I'll say it was a mild spice (Indiana doesn't do lots of spicy things) so the heat doesn't rise above red pepper flake spice. You could add more heat with Tabasco to get it to a spice that makes the tongue actually feel hot. The ladies running the kitchen and clean up were fun and delightful and made us feel like we were home in someone's house being taken care of. Not sure when I'll ever be back in this area, but worth a stop and skipping all the other fast food nearby to try this local spot!!

The chips are a bag of Lays. Service is very positive and attentive. You order at the cash register, have a seat and they bring your food to you. The restaurant is clean. Nothing fancy. The restroom is one small room for all. So you may need to wait to use it. We have returned to this restaurant several times and will again in the future.

I am shocked that a small Midwest town in Indiana near the Ohio border had such phenomenal BBQ!…read more I have made 2 visits and both of them have been exceptional! My first visit, I chose the Barnyard Burner Burger special. It came with pulled pork, spicy BBQ sauce, and cheese. But what was amazing about the burger was how soft, fresh, and smoky the hamburger meat was! I hadn't had a burger like this in years! I even liked it more than the BBQ, which if you follow my Yelp...that is very high praise! This week, I had the pulled pork and brisket with potato salad and beans. All phenomenal! The pulled pork is perfectly tender and smoky! I liked the pork more than the brisket but the brisket is 4 stars on its own. The potato salad has a lightly sweet mustard base to it with some eggs and relish mixed in. I enjoyed the beans more than the potato salad as the beans were in some kind of sweet and smoky conglomeration made in the back with brown sugar as a key ingredient. There are 4 sauces and I usually try to rank sauces, but I couldn't do it with these. They are all worthy on their own merit. The four sauces and a brief description are: Classic - mildly sweet tomato with a little pepper Sweet and Smoky - very sweet with a smoky taste and ketchup base Tangy - part vinegar, part tomato, all tangy Sue Tang - spicy mild to medium BBQ sauce, tomato base The one downside and it's common being a Southerner in the Mid-West is there is usually no sweet tea and if there is, it isn't sweet enough. They told me their tea maker was broke but there is a Kroger that has Milo's Sweet Tea that I have been allowed to carry in both times. Make a trip to Bluffton for Yergy's BBQ or Burgers. They are only open Thursday-Sunday.

We got pulled pork, sausage, and brisket. It came with two sides. We got the green beans and pasta salad. It was $28.75. Your meal comes with free cheddar garlic biscuits with a side of apple butter. The pulled pork with some of the best we have ever had. The brisket was good as well, flavored nicely. We received three large pieces, however, there was quite a bit of fat on the pieces. We received two sausage links. The sausage was slightly spicy, which we like. However, of the three meats it was our least favorite. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the green beans. Her description of them was right on target and they were very good. Service was very fast and our bill was accurate. They are first come, first serve, and do not accept reservations. We would return again.

Stepping out of…read moremy car in the parking lot, I was immediately drenched in bbq smell so I knew this was about to be good! Big Hoffas is set up as more of a casual restaurant, where you first get in line to order food, then choose a table. They will call you based off of your receipt/ticket when food is ready. I got the chicken "meat on a plate" which comes with 2 sides + 2 dinner rolls. For my sides, I got pickled veggies and macaroni. The chicken was super moist! The meat doesn't come with sauce (it is only seasoned), so I added a mix of their mild and spicy bbq sauces to the chicken myself. My pickled veggies (red onion, carrots) were crisp and a great side to balance out a typically heavy bbq meal. The mac and cheese wasn't my favorite, since I prefer a tangier mac. Considering how much food I got, Big Hoffas was a steal! They also have an ice cream stand, but I was too full to consider dessert.

There was a lot of food for the price, and the ribs had plenty of meat on them. The fries were solid, and while the mac and cheese wasn't my favorite and reminded me a bit of cafeteria mac and cheese, I still left full and had leftovers to take home. The food was ready surprisingly fast, probably within 7 to 10 minutes. The staff was friendly throughout the visit and did a great job checking in on us, clearing trays, and making sure everything was going well. As for the atmosphere, I can appreciate the theme they were going for, even if it's not quite my style. The dining room is pretty dark, and the dark murals make it feel even darker. That said, the food and service easily made up for it. Overall, it was a really good experience and a place I'd happily visit again.

It is obvious in his demeanor and the quality of the food that Ben is doing what he was put on Earth to do. The pulled pork is great, the coleslaw is flavorful, the peach cobbler hits the spot, But the ribs? Transcendent. My dad kept a list of his favorite ribs. Ben's would've taken the top spot. I almost skipped it, and I'm so glad I didn't. It was incredible. The BBQ sauce deserves a shoutout too. It has the perfect balance of sweet and savory with just enough vinegary tang to keep you coming back for another bite. The peach cobbler crisp was really good and the slaw was well seasoned. My only hope is that they get some more sides in the future like fries & Mac n cheese. But meat is the real MVP. One piece of advice: get there early. They just opened their new restaurant and are still figuring out how much food to prepare each day, and they were completely sold out before 2 p.m. That's a good problem to have! Show up hungry because you'll want to try everything. Be patient as they are figuring this out and have huge crowds. We waited in line for about 40 minutes and it was well worth it. On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the BBQ. Ben is a blast to talk to, and his staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming. You can tell they care about both the food and the people walking through the door. I'll definitely be back. Best BBQ I've had in Indiana.
