They dont just offer swim classes for kids, they have private lessons, adult refreshers to sharpen your swimming skills and also swimming for beginners. The class that I was in was 25 minutes, and they make sure that its 25 minutes and not a second more. Dont get me wrong, you can really learn a lot from instructors if you show up and apply yourself. One recommendation for Finley would be to pull someone who is holding a class behind. Its not benefiting them in anyway and a lot of attention gets put on them leaving the rest standing(swimming) around alone. Implement a plan where someone can retake the first week of classes instead of allowing then to go on to week 2 when they're still struggling with week 1 assignments. Just be aware of this if you decide to sign up for any of their courses. read more

Finley Aquatic Center offers a clean and safe place to hang out, exercise, and play for ages 0-127. The staff is capable, friendly, and if it's not too busy, the lifeguards are willing to answer questions. Thinking about trying water aerobics? Good for you! Watch out for the cranky water fitness instructor (she's been there forever). Her classes offer a combination of the same exact set of movements on repeat sprinkled generously with yelling and general crankiness. You'll understand what I mean as soon as you take her class. Lap Swim Hot Tip: I tried lap swim for the first time, and was quickly educated by another swimmer about one of the unwritten 'rules'; when sharing a lane, always let the swimmer in the lane know you are entering. read more

I have brought my little one here for the parent/ child swim lessons since she was 10 months old, and as a family we love it. The instructors are sweet, patient and amazing. The lifeguards are always attentive and make sure there is no running as it can be slippery. I will definitely continue to bring my little girl here as they have different stages for swim lessons based on experience and comfort level, and prices are reasonable. We really love that there are plenty of afternoon classes; as working parents it allows us to choose a time that works for us. Also, they have created a children's play area which I believe should be opening up within the next few weeks, I am sure it is going to be really fun for children. read more

Finley aquatic center is a grate place to swim! The last time i was there, there where two pools a super nice big one which got to about 11' deep, and it also has a diving board thats super fun. And they had a kitty pool which got to about 3' or 2' but not quite sure but its a grate place for littles to swim!.... But i have not been there since they upgraded it. There was a lot of construction and tractors every time we past by, so im not quite sure what its like now but im going there today so I guess i'll See;). But its still my favorite place to swim around here! Have a great day!! read more

Had our boys' birthday party here. Such a great spot for both kids and adults of all swim levels. The splash pad was also a big hit.

My kids have been doing swim lessons here during the summer for the past few years. The instructors are attentive, nice and helpful. I also hosted a birthday party a few years back which was a success. The staff was easy to work with, and the site was very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place for parties, recreational swim and swim lessons. read more

I've been coming here for about a month now for the therapeutic swimming classes and I couldn't be happier the facility is kept in good condition the staff is friendly and helpful even remembering my name. The instructor is very ava for giving advice and directions on proper techniques. I really look forward to coming here! The only improvements I would suggest is more handicapped parking spaces and another handicapped stall in the women's restroom Otherwise iis definite recommend I love it here Update I'm continuing my schedule of swimming classes and have to compliment the quality of staffing, every one is friendly and helpful not to mention skilled at their job From the maintenance guy that made sure the pool lift worked to the lifeguards and class instructor everyone earns an A+from me!!! hey great place to take a youngster to learn how to swim. I took a five-year-old boy for his first lessons at both Finley and Ridgeway Swim centers this summer and he loved it. The instructors work well with the little kids even the ones who may take a little longer to get off that first step. Swimming is a great confidence builder when you are first learning. The fees are exceptionally reasonable as far as I am concerned, I am on a budget and was able to afford three sessions for my young friend this summer and we can hardly wait for spring to roll back around because we will be back. read more

I have been taking water fitness classes here for several years, and really enjoy this facility; it has an old-school feel with good sized pools and easy parking. I prefer outdoor pools, and the water temperature is always comfortable at Finley. There are many different teachers, depending on days/times prefer, and it's understandably a mixed bag with what you 'get' -but probably a good variety for different personalities. My kids all had their swim classes here and they loved it. All of the instructors are very nice. The front desk people also have great customer service and we just love going here . The only thing I really hate though is that there are A LOT of grumpy old people during the early swim classes. Seriously, if they don't like being around nose and children, then go somewhere else !! I really have no patience for ignorant, grouchy people who thinks it's ok to give dirty looks to a little two year old for being excited about swimming ! Presently open year round, great lap swim hours, check with facility for lap swim hours. Ridgway is Santa Rosa's other year round pool and it is very close by. Lap swim there is 0930-1PM 7 days a week! There is a really good masters program that uses both pools for workouts at other times during the week. I started water fitness here last November. The instructors are fabulous, caring and treat you with respect. I am able to go at my own pace. I used to live near Finley. IN fact I lived in the area before it was built & it was SUCH a welcome addition to that area. I Utilized the gym there as well as many classes for me & my kids. I enjoyed african dance class. My son enjoyed tot time and lots of kids classes. WE have also been there for birthday parties & church services. Great community asset. read more

I went to both SR pools while in town to cool off from the intense heat. Being summer with the kids out of school, both pools were very crowded. Finley had 2 pools, a kids pool & an adult pool, that had a few lanes shut down for lessons, pt, walking/jogging. The pool is concave at the bottom, unlike the other pool. So the depth of the water per lane is the same from wall to wall. It was a bit too crowded for me the day i went. Be prepared to come w/ sunscreen and a hat --summer time gets pretty intense sun there. I"d love to go back, but maybe when it's not so busy. The pool hours offered are pretty good. read more

There is no shade here, no water attractions like ridgeway. The big pool was closed ok..... until the swim lessons started right in the middle of public swim time and half the little pool got closed off. So 1/4 of swim space for full price , awesome huh? read more

This is a hidden treasure for some, and a regular stop for other families. The shark pups kids water polo class is great for kids who like a challenge to learn new skills in the water. I took my 5 year old about a month ago for lessons and I ended up switching her into a diff class because the young instructor was incredibly rude and had zero patience with the kids. Yelling at them on the first day. So I put her in a diff class and the instructors were awful. So we ended up going to ISR which is where she was years before. And I am much happier paying the extra money for better lessons read more
